MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM: Teams Tournament
« on: January 16, 2011, 03:10:37 AM »
Intresting. For the time being, I don't have a home team to join; And usually I go solo.

Would it be possible to submit my name, and later submit the names of the people who would wish to join me? If I were to, I would enter under the pseudonym OneRanArmy.

I guess this will be my topic for uploadage...
Hmmm..
The link is...
http://www.mediafire.com/?h0579wf1622scst

Please tell me how to...

   #1-Name it
   #2-Change the gravity
#3-Play it from inside the game
   #4-And other things

#1 - You'll need the Text editor Slade 3, to be able to insert a file called MAPINFO into your wad. This will change the name of your individual maps, and be able to make them visible to all who DL them in their Map list.

First, you'll need to extract it from any resource with it ( I suggest copying one from the game's .pk3.)
DO NOT OVERWRITE IT.

When you get it highlighted, R-Click, and select export. Send it to a place you can find it easily, and then open your .wad. Import the file into your .Wad, and then -- *Tada* -- It can now be named, and the Gravity can now be changed, as well as air speed, which is #2.

#3 - In DB2, there is an option, that looks like a Play arrow. This is the *TEST MAP* option, in the browser. If you have a Player One spawn point on the zone, you can enter the map, and be able to test how it flows, the mechanics, and other graphical features.

#4 - Before you get ready to put up a .wad, I suggest checking it for errors.
There is a selection in DB2, that is a symbol of a Check-mark. Let's call it " The Doom-Checker. " By using this, you can test your map, for anything you may have overlooked, so you can troubleshoot 'dem mofoz.

There are other features, but I haven't found out everything yet. <3

After following the arrows made out of land cut apart by an Ice Slasher Unit, you find yourself in the sewers of Toad Man, chunks of still glowing steel and robotics floating about.

Next to another hollowed out shell of a Reploid is a Audio-Tape, and a written transcript of the coded message. Upon further inspection, you see that it fits neatly into your leather-bound journal.

1/14/20XX
BBZZZCK -- This is Reploid Unit Dash, Service Series R4ND3M2. I have lost radio contact on the global scanner to Dr. Light's group. Details indicate his last known transmission was in Toad Man's sewer system. I was right to come here-- All three Doctors; Light, Wily, and Cossack, had made a group of mostly humans and four robots: Mega and Proto Man, Bass, and Roll.

Upon locating them, the Light uploaded the area that are still free, or have low amounts of Infected reported from the scanners. He then reloaded me with enough Item One's to create temporary barricades, more W-Tanks, and a Radio Transport for a Tango Unit.

In their time of the area, Dr.Cossack explained to me that Toad Man's multiple extensive waterfall drainage paths kept the Infected from being able to climb back up, and the Water Wave had the same effect.

He also explained that the Infected have become smarter, and are now using Teleporter systems as a way of spreading the infection, in the case they are outnumbered, or are hunting the survivors.

Wily concurred, also suggesting a little inventiveness, in the use of weapons that were able to be laid down, and had a delay of detonation -- Ones like Hyper Bomb, and Crash Bomb.

It was also explained to use Star Crash around corners, as a means of forcing a Infected blockade and swarm from both directions on the path.

Bass and Proto Man explained to me that if I do find another group of reploid survivors, to make friends, and teach the less skilled Reploid about how to recognize and fight against this infection.

I asked if I may be able to travel with them, and the Dr.'s considered it. Light finally answered, asking me to exterminate the Infected Nightmares in the remaining Living Zones of his, Wily's and Cossack's creations.

I accepted the mission, heading off from the group to find another Warp Teleporter Chamber, before a Infected attempted to surprise me. He nearly got me, but I used a little fire. Or should I say...Atomic Fire?

Anyways, I've left behind a copy of this Audio-Tape, as well as a written copy of my words. Pass these along to anyone you know. If you so are following me, I have headed off to hunt down remaining Infected in Centaur Man's Living Zone. This is -R4ND3M2. Godspeed. BZZZZZZCK-- ...

The tape cuts off, only static remaining before it ends. You make the choice to follow along his words, making your way to Centaur Man's Zone.

I wiggled and hopped my little ass off, and let bits and pieces lying about. This was my first attempt, and I got a M-Tank. <3

All in all, I killed your challenges. Good work, SSW.

Since the overall overly large 20032x20032 large map was scrapped by me due to how large the map had become, I have separated the map from its whole into a new list of Maps designed with Duel in mind, but adaptable for All Modes; Including Rage Roboneza w/(o) Classes, and Duel w/(o) Classes.

This Project's point is to complement the Map-Line up with more balanced maps for all modes. It will also be a way to replace maps of places that have become bland and uninteresting, due to many of any one factors that recur.

The majority of all work on this map can be credited to me, with the exception of the following people that have helped with an aspect of one of more factors:

To this point, I accredit these following people that I can remember at this moment that have helped.

After sprinting away from the infected group of survivors you joined, you find a teleport pad to Dark Man Castle.

By the steeple of the look-out tower, you notice a overheated corpse of a Infected Horde, and in the grasp , a leather-bound book and recorder.

1/3/11 20XX

BZZZCKZZZZCRK -- " Er.. Shit. Okay. This is Reploid Dash, Service Series //R4ND3M2. I have barely survived a outbreak that occurred in Tomahawk Man's controlled living zone. Remnants of a half-deactivated reploid infected our leader of the group, and the entire pack excluding myself was effectively exterminated. Because I was holding the heavy-duty weapons of the Megaman Killers, I used the Ballade Cracker to first kill off any "Legion" Infected.

I then escaped into the enclosed space of the Gemini Laser storage area, and used the ability of reflection and infraction off the walls to kill off any infected luring the halls, which is when I found the teleport chamber. However, I couldn't allow the more intelligent members of the horde to find it, and wait for me to return to infect me. I used a ploy of coming into the open to draw out stray legion, and the Original Infected, or as I come to call them: "  The Roboneza Nightmare. "

Beforehand, I grabbed the resource of the Power Stone, hidden on a high ledge to take out the ones that followed closer after me, while momentarily finding higher ground or creating distance before using the Super Arm I scavenged. I also found a Water Wave capsule, and used it from a higher ground to force a shutdown of the bots following me into a bottleneck.

Drill Bombs that I picked off a shutdown reploid were perfect for clearing a path around corners, blowing the Legion to pieces. Other projectile explosive weapons like the Hyper and Crash Bombs were well as serving as deterrents and kill weapons in the case of escape and survival. The Screw Crusher was also as well useful in the case of having to face the horde, or running from them.

Weapons like Star Crush were effective, but only in some cases of keep-away. Close range weapons that usually would end reploids well in a usual style of combat do not work well on Legion and Roboneza Nightmares, but on rare occasion they do sap enough out of the hardened heated shell that is trademark of the Infected that I am able to end them with other weapons. I-- "

Noises were heard from the teleporter, and clattering is heard as the journal is shut hastily. Air passing by the microphone is heard, then stop abruptly, followed by sounds of clanking and Ballade Cracker charges being fired. Louder, audible chatter can be heard from behind, increasing as Crackers make contact with the object being fired upon.

" Shit! They've found me. I'll make contact again when possible! This is Dash//R4ND3MZ!" BZZZ-CKT.

After hearing the tape, you notice arrows scribbled into the debris by a Ice Slasher attack. You follow them, hoping they will lead to salvation from the hell you've escaped.

All right. Time to get this back in focus. Again

I've noticed there's much too many tournaments going on. So, screw a tournament idea for now Ever. If It'll happen with me hosting it, It wont be in this thread. :/

In the meantime, I'll be setting up a never-ending poll of challenges that I'm currently thinking of the descriptions for.
If a few of the results stand out, I'll adopt the name, and begin staging what they'll be for. drawing out the Medal Awards for the Winners. * Edit *
ALSO. Keep up with my Editing Thread. It's important you read it.

Well. I've been playing for a few weeks now, and everyone is used to knowing me as -Randemz.

Currently, I'm going by Ronin[Wanderer], for the fact I saw someone in a server of mine posing as me.

I like using the Bass and the Darkman skins, as a signature look. Sniper Joe when I'm looking to kill. >:P
