Mega Man Discussion / Re: If you were a robot master...
« on: December 09, 2010, 02:45:05 AM »
Name: Knuxman
Robot Master Weapon: Knux Masher
Weaknesses: Electric, sound or spike based weapons.

Description: A robot master notorious for his huge fist weapon, the Knux Masher, which knocks enemies away. He isn't tolerant to big mouthed robots, but is just enough level headed to do things right when the need arises.

Weapon description: The Knux Masher sends an energy punch in front of you and carries you forward a little in the process. If you hit weak enemies up close though (or the robot master weak to it), you'll inflict higher damage and send them flying. Even closed up Mettaurs don't stand a chance as they're sent flying and the landing damage is enough to destroy them. Just be careful not to be facing a void/pit of spikes/lava as you could fall from the forward push. Also, enemies based upon Knuxman's weaknesses do not take much damage from this weapon (including common robots), so keep it in mind. On another note, it's a mid to close range weapon, as the energy punch vanishes half way through the screen, and you can fire it 12 times, assuming full weapon energy.

Appearance: Think Tomahawk man without the feather helmet, the red paint in his face or the Tomahawk. Instead, it's a dark blue color (reference to Hard Man :P) has gloves that look like Guilty Gear's Potemkin (freaking HUGE, look it up), and the helmet looks a little like Viewtiful Joe's except he has no visor.

Meh, I should just make a sprite... which I suck at. >_>

Secretly edited to add more weapon details...

Oh man, you and I are like opposites. I care about EVing and good natures (although I pick natures based on the type of character I want the Pokemon on my team to have and on how well the nature works with it), but I choose Pokemon based on how cool I think they are.

That's cool, man. What matters is that you enjoy the game, which is what it's all about. There are some competitive players that bash others for not doing the same, and I feel sad for those guys. Competitive play, though fun, can be daunting to get into and they should know better than saying that especially when they do it themselves.

That said, if anyone here wants to get into it, you can ask me for help as stated earlier. Don't be shy, seriously. I have been EV training a lot of Pokemon for quite a while now (2007, and still going) and I'd feel useful helping others. Speaking of Mismagius, I made a Misdreavus the other day for competitive...

Now, if you ask me about what my team would be by appearance, the team I had in my trainer card except for Gengar, Starmie and Aerodactyl. Replace them with Blastoise, Metagross and Dragonite and you have my appearance team.  :p

Just thought I'd say something, a friend of mine(Shagg) is working on a Nitori skin. Just saying so you wont have to make one if someone requests it.

Great! I read the topic from beginning to end to make sure someone didn't request it first, since Nitori is my fave character from Touhou! Though I have only completed EoSD except for dat Extra Stage... >_>;

You know you have played too much MM8bitDM when you look desperately around EVERYWHERE, trying to find out where the hell they hid the Yashichi.  :p

I already read the whole thread at typing time, but I was going through page 4 when I got the itch to play Megaman 7 again to see if I could find something. After all these years, I just realized that Slash Man is weak to Flame Wheel. I also knew for a long time that Burst Man had the same 2 weaknesses, but since no one mentioned it so far...  :p

Oh and, Cutty? These are a funny coincidence...

I generally don't care about design or looks and just go for the Pokemon whose stats, types, moves (etc.) I am looking to have in my team, but I just can't shake Gear and the legendary cloud trio's look. It's so bad, it's bad. And as if Gear's design and movepool wasn't enough suck, they gave it a shit coating finish in the form of the Plus and Minus abilities. It gets Clear Body via Dream World, which is a great ability, but I dropped the idea of raising one facts ago.  :ugeek:

By the way...

I'm not sure if the bone cannon should be any stronger, while messing around in a bot match i tried the bone cannon and suprisingly could like 2-hit a choke with it, it being a rapid fire railgun with some shots on it.
It seems quite powerfull enough if it actually hits, and the cost of 20 ammo suits the damage well, the little delay for the gun to activate the bone cannon makes aiming a tad more harder too. I find it pays off if you hit with it, but isnt too powerfull, either. I think its fine as it is.

I find the Bone Cannon to be a high risk, high return weapon. Being a hitscan weapon, I'd much rather not activate it if there are mostly Creepers around, simply because I suck at aiming well with free aim. It's a matter of skill. (And low ping.  :| )

Blood spreader is indeed kinda... Worthless, a melee-range attack against giant-headed enemies that take you down in one go is kinda... Not too effecient, but more range might make it more doable, but approaching bots with this is asking to be killed (except sjas with his safe delay between screams).

Right now, the best way I see to use this upgrade is to run away while firing it at chasers, and attract them into an ally readying an attack. This is a problem if you don't know the maps well, or if someone else blocks your way though.

Not sure about the soul plasma, its... Original though. :P

I think it's great as it is. Unless I'm Jitterskull and then it gets annoying... D:

I've no idea if anyone reported this, but when a Santa dies, the holly traps left behind cause damage to other human players should they run over them. I confirmed it yesterday while following a teammate using the Ghostbuster after I died as Santa and left traps. This must be fixed ASAP.

A suitable solution would be to have the traps disappear with the dead Santa.

I found some bugs:

Creeper: saw it while my bro was using it. He waited until the curse balls were about to recharge while having one, he shoots it at the same time it recharges and gains all 3 curse balls again. And it's not a random glitch, either. He pulled it off with success a couple of times while I was watching.

Jitterskull: happened while playing online. I charge at a human, then look to the right/left before getting to him (in the middle of the charge attack). I frag him and Jitterskull's cool down does not occur. I try it again, same thing happened. Deadly glitch in wrong hands, as you can just get ready to escape after fragging, or go to town...

EDIT: Aside from this, I think it would be funny to see Jitterskull charge with his mouth closed while cooling down, and it should sound like when he charges but with mouth full sounds, causing no damage but pushing players away for escape.

The race track map had it but it was tooooooooo big.

Yes, we get it already.  :p Also, I edited my other post not too long after making it. You might want to take a look.

Now for the maps. I keep hearing people complaining most of them are Creeper maps because of the snow textures. Bah, humbugs, I still like "Hell Froze Over", as overdone hellish themes are. As for Frostbite, I see it as a support Ghoul that helps flush out campers and should always be used in tandem with another ghoul (any, whichever suits the situation better). It's sprite is bigger than I expected it to be, and hiding behind stuff without people noticing it's hair can be tricky.

Santa plays decently, no complaints... for now. >.>

*checks maps*

...

*doesn't find his map*

I am cry.  :?

EDIT: BAH, BAH I SAY! It's my own fault for not thinking about the gameplay first!  :p Well, to be honest, this map wasn't going to be originally for CD, but something I decided to do one fine day out of boredom. I went to a park in my town, sketched it on a notebook, and mapped it in DB (adding stuff, of course). Then, I thought it would be a good idea to submit it. Derp.

Well, I am working on another map which should be pretty convincing, though it's late already. Unless Cutman plans to release an update of the wad in the future... still, I'm gonna keep mapping it. Thanks for the chance, man.  :)
