Players who have forfeit:
Division 1: Orange Juice, Obelisk, Bikdark
Division 2: Saturn, Tengu, Swiss
Division 3: Deathrow, Gumballtoid, Stardroid Kribz (Magnet Dood indicated he was willing to finish, so he's no longer forfeit).

Also, Division 2, because the forfeited players have left for good, you may begin your tournament games. The games are best of three (map choice has reset for this stage), where each player chooses a map. If the first two games are split, a third consensual map must be played. The consensus map will not go toward your map choice total.

Anyway, here are the Division 2 playoffs:
TheMetalManU v. Light
Saviorsword v. Cvideo

is Badass Bullymong on a server?
If you want to arrange a match with someone, and you can't find them online, PM them and make arrangements.

badass bullymong's Cutstuff user here is SmashBroPlusB. PM him.

I'll rejoin if TG is willing to do battel with me- that's my only match left (besides Deathrow, hue)
Well, you'd have to ask him. I don't see why he wouldn't play you, though. PM him and see what happens. If you have trouble contacting him, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

As for Deathrow, I've not heard from him in about a month. Dunno what happened to him; if you still want to play him too, ask Wallus what happened with him.

Because of issues earlier in the last couple of weeks about the availability of duel servers (at several points, they were no duel servers at all), I've decided to extend the league for a week for the players who are still involved in the league. Please do your best to try to get your games in.

For the players who have forfeit, if you don't rejoin before the end of the day, your time is up, and you'll officially be out.

Because the mass defections from the various leagues, it has proven necessary to amend the rules for this season's promotion playoffs. Specifically, now, the promotion playoffs will be as follows:

3rd in Div. 2 v. 6th in Div. 2
4th in Div. 2 v. 5th in Div. 2

3rd in Div. 3 v. 6th in Div. 3
4th in Div. 3 v. 5th in Div. 3

Furthermore, because it would be unfair to some of the other players who did not have the chance to play the various forfeiting players, it will prove necessary to ignore the results of the forfeited players in the event they choose to not continue the event. Doing this will ultimately change the results of the event, but I could not see another possible course of action that could be taken to otherwise rectify this situation fairly to everyone.

Ultimately, the ball is in the forfeited player's court on this matter, and they have not shown any willingness to return to the event or otherwise negotiate terms of their return. While there is still time for them, it looks less likely now than it did a few weeks ago that they will come back.

While I will still keep the door open for the forfeited players to return to the event (deadline remains March 1st), I make the following notes concerning the remaining games:

Division 1

Division 2

I gotta say, OJ, that I think your chess tournament would have been the better idea. In fact, I'll make the first move:

Let me just throw this out there for good measure to the players who have "forfeit": if I extended the deadline, say, a month or two, would that encourage those who withdrew to return to play their games?

Furthermore, if I asked for assistance running an event like this (say, OJ and/or any Cutstuff moderator who was interested in running things), would that encourage the forfeiting players to return to finish their games?

I want to try and reach an amicable solution if at all possible. Consider this my part in trying to find an answer that everyone will be happy with.

EDIT: You know, I can reach out and work hard for you, but ultimately, everyone has to be on the same page. If no one is willing to talk at all, then it doesn't matter what I do for you folks (specifically, the people at odds with the league). You guys have to be willing to talk; otherwise, we'll remain at an impasse.

who do i have left to fight?
Badass Bullymong, and Stardroid Kribz on a map of your choice.

Note that Kribz is in stasis (meaning he does not wish to be disturbed). If he chooses to not play this game, you'll win a forfeit in this spot.

Rtist, the problem for me is just the time placement of the league. Why don't you do it in summer, when we don't have school and whatnot? I'm still willing to do it if it's at a lull period in school.
Note that you joined the league and were willing to start it up in January. We can run Season Two of the league in the summer if that's what people wish to do. As far as this season is concerned, however, you're still on the hook for the games needed.

I've made a final decision concerning the people who wish to forfeit from the league.

It is my belief that the games in question can still be played. Therefore, unless contacted to the contrary, I will keep the given league in place as it is. If the people who want to forfeit change their minds, they may continue to play their remaining games as normal. If the games are incomplete at the time of the deadline, I'll award wins for the remaining games to the opposite participants, and grant them the appropriate amount of points as well.

In other words, I'm leaving the door open for the "forfeiting" players to rejoin and finish their league season prior to the deadline.. If you want back in, you can still play the remainder of the games.

After the season ends, anyone who does not wish to play in season two may indicate as much to me. I'll remove anyone who wants out then. Until then, there are still a little less than three weeks left in the season. I suggest that players who wish to play the remaining games use the PM system on Cutstuff to contact their opponents, or, if applicable, use Skype. That way, they may organize the remaining games at their leisure.

I will still be available to assist any players who need help finding and contacting certain people. This service is available upon request, either via PM or in person.

Furthermore, for season two, we will be accepting applications for those players who wish to join the league after the playoffs conclude. This will probably be after March 1st. We will have to wait and see.

As tournament manager, this is my ruling on the matters of forfeiting players.

Rtist, I don't think you understand that my top priority in life isn't playing a fucking duel on MM8BDM. You should stop questioning people's decisions and stop interrogating them about it, and making posts about how you're so high and mighty that you do whatever it takes to get your dueling done (because dueling is such a HUUUUGE deal you know). More or less, that's rather selfish of you. It's also very selfish of you to ban people from your future events just because they forfeited one you previously made. Please stop.
You made a commitment, and then broke it. In layman's terms, you lied when you said you'd play the games needed. Selfish? You made this more about you than the other players when you chose to quit. That's pretty damn selfish, if you ask me. You call me selfish, but at least I'm honest with everyone. To a fault. I keep my promises, regardless of anything else.

I'm aware that dueling isn't the most important thing in people's lives. That's why there was nearly two months to play the games. That said, personal honesty is important to me (as it should be important to everyone). If you really felt that you couldn't play your games, you should not have joined this event. Simple as that.

I've had enough arguing. I'll accept your request. So really, I've got to find people to fulfill the commitment in your place.

Anything further, and you can PM me about it. This really isn't the forum for such discussions.

You people seriously disappoint me. It wouldn't surprise me if you disappointed the community, as well.

I'll have you know that I played my games early, in spite of illness (I was feverish at the time) and in spite of my law school work. I did it early mainly because I feared that I would be more busy later than I would be early on in the semester. I was proved right. Now, I'm fairly busy with a project that's due March 1st, but that still wouldn't stop me from fulfilling the obligation that I made to my competitors. I wanted to show that, as a member of this community, that I, regardless of my work situation, could fulfill any commitment made and set an example for others.

If you people figured you'd have been busy later, then you should have played your games when you had the opportunity to. You've had chances to play opponents just like everyone else, only to disregard them in favor of "having fun". So any work arguments get no sympathy with me. You made a commitment to the other competitors and I would expect nothing less than fulfilling said commitment.

An event like this is only as good as the players who are willing to commit time to said events. When they flow naturally, most people enjoy them and natural conclusions can be born from them. When people stall (and then later threaten to quit because they get "bored" or "busy"), it disrupts the event, and ultimately, discredits the community the event is based in.

Playing 18 games (2 games against 9 opponents with fraglimit 5) does not take up a large amount of time, if planned properly. So your "decision" to leave the league prior to its completion seriously disappoints me. There is no good excuse for it.

You still have three weeks to play the remaining games. If you're still going to school, then you can do what I did: take a flashdrive and play in the computer lab. I did that for previous events while at New Mexico State. I don't think that's terribly unrealistic.

If you really want to forfeit, I will forfeit you immediately. All previous results will be marked off as 5-0 defeats. However, you won't be playing in any more events I sponsor. The other players and I don't need people who won't honor their commitments. (EDIT: My statement, having been in utter haste and emotion, is now more circumspect. I won't totally prohibit you from joining future events, but you are hereby on notice; make no mistake, what you did is not acceptable.)

Galactan, I request a final answer in response to this post.

In the meantime, it seems we will have an opening in the top division of play and two openings in the 2nd division of play. If anyone wants to join up to fill those spots, they may. Three openings.

Remember, the end of the league is a little more than three weeks away! Please finish your games as required, so we can get to the playoff matches on time. Thanks.
