It's crazy, just for a map !! Try just to finish your match guys!

So, what is your ruling, here stonefunk? Be clear, so that there can be no mistake of the intent of your decision...

I lost game 2, so it's my choice on a map.

Then you'd have chosen 3 maps and I'd only have chosen 1.

Elaborate on this:

Round 1: Savior 10-4 (mm1dw1; neutral map)
Round 2: YD 10-7 (mm6tom; chosen by YD)
Round 3: ?? (mm2met; chosen by saviorsword)

You agreed to start on a neutral map, and you had your map choice, YD. I fail to see your point.

My brother was the one who showed me mm8bdm. It's his fault that you all now have to endure me.  :D

The forum I found based on word online, and soon after that I was offered to join Unfaded from Lonewolf. I accepted, and starting playing in the clan league matches.

Soon after I joined, Lonewolf left the clan. I left with him, thinking that since he was the one that recruited me, I owed him a bit of gratitude. He created =HASTE=, which I joined.

Later, I played in the first round of the Duel Tournament against Orange Juice, eventually losing 10-5, 9-10, 10-3.

And here I am today.

Thanks, BlueBrawl.

I suppose this thread can be locked now that my question has been answered....

MM8BDM Discussion / New .pk3 file?
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:52:22 PM »
A few of the current servers are using a new .pk3 file that I haven't seen before. It's called CS_CMP_V1a.pk3

I've looked for it on cutstuff (and online via google) for the last 20 minutes and still haven't caught word of it yet.

What is it, and can I get a link to it?

Uber Sawnik = DeviltheFox, methinks.

That's because you DID do that. For about 3 minutes. And then I lost.

My third and final game against OJ was at Top Man's stage too (by OJ's selection), and I tried run a lot in that match. My plan was to stay away from close combat and to run when wounded.

I knew I didn't have the technical savvy OJ did (in terms of using top spin for quick kills), so I thought that fighting a distance war (and closing the gap to finish the kills) would be my best shot at winning.

I probably should have used the proto buster (and shield) more; I didn't. I also didn't execute my plan very well. OJ ended up dominating me on that map 10-3, which spelled the end of my tournament.

Oh well. So it goes.

I feel your pain, bluebrawl, but it really is up to the player to find solutions to the problems that his opponent throws at you. If you can't, then it justifies the opponent using the same (perhaps cheap) tactics in order to undermine you. Is it cheap to play this way? Perhaps. Is it illegal to play this way? Definitely not.

EDIT: There are 10 matches left (4 second round, 3 quarterfinals, 2 semifinals, and the final). I'm curious when the tournament will be finished. Even the NCAA Men's Basketball tournament is only a three-week affair at most.

A few updates to the bracket are in order....

(click to show/hide)

Took me some time to figure out how to upload it, but I finally put 2 + 2 together and got 6.

EDIT: I forgot to remove the "some gay guy" joke that bluebrawl came up with. I fixed it.

The thing that is supposed to happen is something like this between US and EU users (although it could apply to those of differing countries as well):

1) Fraglimit: 20 or more. Something open-ended would be best.
2) Timelimit: 15 mins. This way the games must end.
3) Games: 2. One on a US server and one on an EU server.
4) Winner: Either by the winner of the games or by frag differential if there's a split in games.

Why the US/EU matches aren't being played in this format, I have no idea. This way, it is completely balanced.
Remove the time limit. If someone gained a tiny lead and had one minute remaining, they could just run away like a coward and win in a cheap fashion. I could see this happening in Top Man...
Top man...
Top man...
Dangit Muzaru.

Then have an extreme timelimit such that the games would end.
As for topman, that's why you have charge kick and beat...

So now that the round of 32 is done, any thoughts on some first round awards, like best performance or best match?

For best first round performance: I nominate CutmanMike, Uber Sawnik, and SoniaNature. BradeDude and Kapus get honorable mentions.

For best first round match, I nominate SaviorSword v. Michael712, Muzaru v. BlueBrawl, and Orange Juice v. rTist. Honorable mention goes to Godot v. 2D Man.

I'd also propose an upset award for the first round, but it's hard for me to see who was favored in the round of 32 (I'm still fairly new, mind you!).

Any other possible awards for the first round? And who wins these awards?

I won 1st & 2nd round. So who am i againest next?

Screencaps? Scores? Witnesses?

Assuming you did win, you'd play Prosecutor Godot next.

Hey BlueBrawl, do you think you can make a 32 person bracket for future use? It's clearly easier to see what the bracket is with what you made.

If you can't, or don't feel like it, don't worry about it.

Bluebrawl, that's a pretty sweet bracket!

Maybe you should include the round of 32 in that bracket listing, though, with the scores, to make it complete. It'd be perfect with that!
