Why is there 34 people in the tournament/ Mega Cut League?
Wait, what? I just counted it as 16 matches. Well anyways, anyone here have any requests for the tournament bracket template I'm going to make in 30 minutes in illustrator tomorrow?

I'd try to put in the scores of each match in the bracket as well. That way, people can see the results as well as the number of games for each match.

For example, since OJ won his match with me, you'd put in the bracket OJ 10-5, 9-10, 10-3.

When I know what the second round matches are, I'm gonna make a table predicting who wins in every match. Why? Just for the hell of it and for the bragging rights of saying "I TOTALLY FUCKING CALLED IT". Stonefunk needs to reorganize his matches, since it's just great players vs great players and average players vs average players.
Something like a NCAA tourney, where it's #1 vs #16, #2 vs #15, and so on.

I was thinking of doing something like this. However, a thing to note is that format matters in matches. Not everyone is playing with the same fraglimits, timelimits, or best two out of three games to win a match. It can be harder to predict, because of those scenarios.

NOTE FOR STONEFUNK: are players allowed to start their second round matches yet, or should the first round be finished first?

NOTE FOR PREDICTIONS: I'll update this to reflect all the second round match-ups. Until then, here are my predictions for the current second round match-ups, including best two out of three format (I'll put it in spoilers in case people don't care to know):

Remaining first round matches:

YellowDevil v Turboman for the right to play Lio
Saviorsword v Michael712 for the right to play Kapus (Saviorsword leads 1-0 in games)
Uber Sawnik v Tails_Hatsune for the right to play Magnetman497

Round of 16 matches:

Rawk Hawk v Orange Juice
CutmanMike v Muzaru
SoniaNature v Firestorm
Korby v Prosecutor Godot
BradeDude v Bikdark

Also, I know Bikdark won, but what was the score in the games played in his match against Frost?

just noticed we have 32 players now. That's good, at least. No need for byes the rest of the way.

Now, lets have some good matches!

Well, if 4 players get a first-round bye, nothing changes. 12 winners and 4 with a bye remain. That makes it 16 and pure knockout from there. He already set 4 players with a first-round bye, so I see nothing wrong except he could have made those byes random.

I see what you're saying, but that's not how the tournament was started.

It's probably what should have happened, but it didn't; now, we're left with the issue of byes in the round of 16.

If we can find four more players, like OJ suggests, we should go with that. Otherwise, the options I suggest should be given due consideration.

I just noticed there's 28 players in this tournament. After the first round, the list will be cut to 14, then 7.

In other words, someone will have a bye by the time the quarterfinals come about, if things continue on their present course.

Since this is a knock out tournament (when you lose, you're done), I suggest one of the following courses of action:

1) In the round of 16, put two players who were knocked out of the first round back into the tournament. This way, there will be exactly 16 players, and no byes will be needed in either that round, or in future rounds. Which players get back in can be determined by either the remaining players or the director of the tournament, whichever is preferred.

2) In the round of 16, give two byes to the players who got the best overall results from the first round. This will give them a spot in the quarterfinals, whereas the other players can play their matches in relative peace.

3) In the quarterfinals, there will be seven players. Give a player a bye into the semifinals, so that the other six players can play their matches in relative peace.

Any one of these suggestions would fix the bracket, I would think.

After 3 overly stalled battles at 2 AM, we finally finished Rtist VS OJ, with OJ winning. winners talk in third person

When I saw the pairings, I felt this (rtist v OJ) might be the best first round matchup. Shame that we had to meet this early.

We played three rounds, with OJ prevailing 2-1:
Round 1: 10-5 (mm1cut; by mutual agreement)
Round 2: 9-10 (mm4dc1; rtist's choice, since he lost round 1)
Round 3: 10-3 (mm3top; OJ's choice, since he lost round 2)

OJ got 29 (!) kills, whereas rTist got 18 kills.

I didn't get a screen-capture of the second match. I was still a little shocked (along with the spectators!) that I was able to win that one.

So it goes. Good match, OJ, and good luck the rest of the way.

Country: USA
Availability: weekends are typically best. Tuesdays and Thursdays are good, too.
Level of skill: High (if I do say so myself  :) )
Host: if my computer gets fixed, maybe. Right now, I'm using lab computers to play.

Stonefunk, when do you intend to start the tourney, and will it be single-elimination bracket-style or a round robin format?

Why does everyone think I am Muzaru? I don't understand that. :D

I have nothing against Unfaded; I just wanted to help lonewolf, since he's the one who recruited me into the clan. I still hope that any ill feelings either way can be mended. I know I have none; Unfaded is a classy group of guys.

So TBG won the league. GOL will likely get second if they finish their matches.

Who's gonna get third? I still want to finish the remaining matches; they could still be interesting.

EDIT: We should call this Semi-Pro MM8BDM TDM. Maybe have an announcer/commentator or something. lol
Maybe someone could post the games to youtube with commentary a la starcraft.

Anyway, I need to check in for Unfaded. Is it too late for me to join the team and the league?

If it is too late, I thought even semi-pro teams got to add/trade players to and from their roster....That might be interesting if that happened.
