Anything Goes / Look at me, shamelessly advertising comics.

Chasmus, the one-scene-wonder from Evan Dahm's webcomic Order of Tales. As always, I recommend checking it out, along with his other works, Rice Boy and Vattu.

Don't forget that mapping sensibility takes precedence over real-life sensibility! Without cargo on the roof, the top of the train would be flat and boring, and that's no good.

General Gaming Discussion / WHO ARE YOU RUNNING FROM?

Did anyone ever had/played this?

(click to show/hide)

It was more than what the box says; it had three games, and a music editor as far as I can remember

It became one of the weirdest "games" I have ever played as a child, and I got some nightmares from it.
Ah yes, I still have a copy of this. Incredibly strange and quirky. The last time I 'played' it (if it really qualifies as a game to be played), I discovered an entire menu option I never knew about! Turns out pressing up on the main menu did something all this time.

These days, I don't really purchase obscure games, but I had my share of oddities back when my family decided what games to get me.

MM8BDM Discussion / And let's strive for some great core maps.
« on: July 02, 2013, 01:26:47 AM »
Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence, Kapus! Linnie, I'd be happy to provide some feedback for your map, so feel free to PM me about it anytime.

In fact, the same thing goes for everyone else. PM/Skype/whatever me if you want me to check out your stuff and whatnot.

My duels are listed here:
Shade Guy VS. Obelisk, MM1GUT (Obelisk's choice), 5-1 in favour of Obelisk
(click to show/hide)
Shade Guy VS. Magnet Dood, MM1TIM (Shade's choice), 5-4 in favour of Shade
(click to show/hide)
Shade Guy VS. Watzup7856, MM8SWO (Shade's choice), 5-4 in favour of Watzup
(click to show/hide)
Shade Guy VS. Accel, MM7SHA (Accel's choice), 5-1 in favour of Shade

Curiously, I was on both ends of both a 5-1 and a 5-4 situation.

Plus I guess I'll keep this screenshot here in case anyone needs it.

Oh. The game was reset, huh?

I suppose I'll replicate my first action by sneaking through the door, disguised as Bubble Man.

MM8BDM Discussion / I've already satisfied my ego with pixels.

I would like to sign up for Spring Man.

I'd be happy to provide feedback and whatnot for other entries, since I'm just here to try and help get some good maps into the core. And if need be, I'd also be fine with my entry being discounted from being judged for the grand prize or whatever, since I've already got a mapping compo medal.

Darn. Should have kept that Bubble Man disguise on. Oh well, I'll just fit a mirror through the door and pretend I'm on the other side when I look at it...

...Eh? There's no reflection. What green glass sorcery is this?

After having successfully gone through the door, I took off my Bubble Man disguise and began putting up anti-discrimination flyers everywhere.

...I'm getting a few weird looks now that they realised I'm Shade Guy, though. I'm worried I'll be kicked out...My flyers might be thrown out, too.

Skins & Bots etc / Re: Shade's Skins and Music (MM3-VRC6 Music Pack)
« on: June 16, 2013, 12:23:26 PM »
Oh hey, an update. This time, it's the MM3 soundtrack, as covered by RushJet1 with VRC6...You know, the guy who made the final boss theme for MM8BDM. He's a pretty cool guy like that.

But yeah, go nuts with this music pack; download it, replace the MM3 tracks in the core with these VRC6 covers (I've already done it), whatever.

Events / omg where's the saxton hale event
« on: June 16, 2013, 09:05:42 AM »
I almost forgot to sign up for a second time. I doubt I will end up joining any team events, but on the off-chance I do, I'll keep you posted.

General Info
Cutstuff Name: To the left, to the left, my CS name is listed in a box to the left.
In-Game Names: Shade Guy...Maybe Starry Night for the Bot Rush event.
Other Modes of Contact: Skype (shade_guy), Steam (Shade_Guy)...Yep, I'm consistent with my usernames.
Time Zone: bAEST...Doesn't work as well.
Location (some sense of latitude): Australia/The Future.
-----
Individual Events
Duel
Deathmatch
Last Man Standing
Possession
Jousting (with an experimental Oil Slider + Flame Sword bonus round pl0x??)
Bot Rush (You and me, KY Star; we'll go far)

Although I'm not signing up for them, I'm curious about the MMSP Speedrun and Rage Roboenza events. For MMSP, will players have all 4 weapons, or will they be restricted to Mega Buster? And how would wins be counted in Rage Roboenza? Often, multiple people 'win' in a round...Unless you mean the true Rage Roboenza victory; being the last survivor and killing every infected player to become the last man standing.

This door is discriminatory, and I will proceed to boycott it. How dare Snake Man not be allowed beyond this door!

...However, in the meantime, I would like to disguise myself as Bubble Man and attempt to enter. Am I successful?

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM Screenshots
« on: June 15, 2013, 02:41:42 AM »
Both stages utilize portals to create some sort of visual effect; the rain visible from the ceiling in various areas in MM4TOA, and the top part of the pyramid in MM4PHA. Portals are also used in MM7DW1 for the Skull Castle background, and in MM8AST for the sand pit. I've heard of visual glitches with MM7DW1 as well, but not MM8AST. I don't know how the glitch is caused, but it's rare enough to not be that much of a problem.

Of course, with the magic of 3D floors, the visual effects in MM4TOA and MM4PHA (not so much MM7DW1 though) could probably be recreated without portals, but once again, not that much of a problem currently.

Cripes! I haven't touched this in almost two years. And look, every link on the first post has broken...Better go fix that.

Have a list of things I've done to this topic:
-The entire first post has been overhauled (no more foreign merchant impression, sorry).
-Every existing download link has been fixed.
-New skin! It's me! Yeah, I got bored earlier today and made a personal skin, based off a character I've made several artworks of...You could probably dig around the 'Anyone's Art Thread' and find a couple.
-New music pack! Songs from Mighty Switch Force!

Yeah, Musashi went and did his own thing with most of the RNC songs when he was making them sound better, which is why they sound different to the originals. I don't really care about that, though. I'm just glad the edits I made to nearly every RNC map, from merely adding MM8 weapons to major changes (Quick NC was all Mendez though), weren't completely useless. I'm also glad that the expansion was finally made compatible with v3a...Even if it was 5 months overdue. Better late than never, I suppose.
