Thanks guys! All the messages I received were much appreciated, be it posted in this thread, sent over Skype, or even sent through PM. I've enjoyed myself today, and you guys contributed to that.

Also, happy birthday Magnet Dood.

MM8BDM Discussion / When in doubt, Tomahawk Man...?
« on: March 07, 2013, 05:22:35 AM »
Recolouring another fence is fine, but using Tomahawk Man's fence as a base isn't the best approach. A better option would be to use Guts Man's fence, since the striped pattern on the fence resembles the striped pattern found on the top of most ledges in Commando Man's stage.

Forum Games Archive / Someone has voted for them already, though.

Great, I didn't even get to reveal who I found out was mafia, nor vote for them. At least I didn't die a fiery death, though.

I've got a good feeling that it's a mistake to vote for HD.

But hey...If he's exiled, then I guess we know who to turn to next when he's revealed to be innocent.
(hint: the guy who was just accused by Tengu)
(another hint: the guy who started the HD bandwagon)
(final hint: GBT)

Good quality, transparent, plus it's one of my favourite Kirby Super Star helpers. It would be even better if the avatar was of Birdon, but I won't be picky.

Forum Games Archive / And it only took me three days to do something.
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:21:56 AM »
Well, I suppose I'll have to get my hands dirty some time.

+Vote Gumballtoid. I'll be pretty suspicious of Tengu if GBT turns out to be a townie, though.

I'd also like to say that I enjoy the contrast between the daytime voting-off and the night murders. Very reminiscent of the average Kirby game; sickly sweet on the surface, but at the end of the game lurks a suprisingly creepy final boss.

U-u-u-u-update.

In Game Name: Shade Guy. I'll be honest though; more often than not, I'll be hiding in servers using aliases. It shouldn't be too hard for someone to find me, though.
Preferred Skin: Bubble Man. Snake Man and Oil Man are pretty cool guys, too.
Preferred Class: Mega Man. I'm all for variety, so being restricted to using one or two abilities at a time isn't really my thing.
Preferred Mode: Team Deathmatch and Last Man Standing, and then their respective counterparts (DM and TLMS). I've got a love/hate relationship going on with Duel, too (I enjoy Duel, but not the healthscooping aspect).
Preferred Mod: QBox mode. Incidentally, this mode is the solution to my problems with healthscooping.
Preferred Weapon: Sakugarne. In terms of 'serious' weapons though, I'd have to say Bubble Lead.
Preferred Assist Item: Item 1, forever and always.
Favourite Vanilla Stage: Stone Man, for its abundance of mobility items. I do enjoy most of the core maps, though.
Greatest Rivals: King Dumb, Roc's Creation and Muzaru, as usual.
Reputation: An Australian mapper that has really high ping. I've been involved in the MM8 expansion, the RNC expansion (if that even counts), plus I've released a map pack of my own (with 5 maps from Vortale too); SHARP.
Anything Else?: Competency is a virtue. Miscommunication leads to unproductivity. Never deem your work to be simply 'good enough'. If the bar for quality is set too low, try to raise it yourself.

Another nicely done animation, I guess.

W.I.P Forum / Re: [EXPANSION] Rokko Chan
« on: February 23, 2013, 02:51:07 AM »
Teleporting every player would be really awkward and impractical. That said, instantaneously changing the heights of the floor and ceiling to make it look like the stage has flipped could work. That is, have the area fade to black (with some kind of warning), then while the stage is completely dark, run a script which changes the floor heights and textures to correspond with the ceiling's, and vice versa.

As for the Dr. Mad stages...
MM7 had 4 Wily stages, but at the cost of the maps being rushed.
RNC had 4 Wily stages (which weren't rushed), but the expansion was delayed several months because it was waiting on 3 of 4 Wily stages.
Avoid following these two expansion's examples; stick to as little Dr. Mad stages as possible.

I'd be willing to let Sketch Man be altered in any way, shape or form...Within reason. That said, I would prefer to be notified about such alterations, and be able to discuss them. But that's assuming my entry is actually accepted.

So TGOT came into a Duel server earlier today and told everyone to draw some TGOTs

Then later, I figured I had some free time

While I appreciate your review, ending it with something like that makes it sound like I'm just dicking around.
Apologies, what I meant to say was that being better than the old MM6CENX isn't much of an achievement because of how bad the old MM6CENX was. The additional comment was merely discouraging the type of thinking that 'it's good enough if it's an improvement', and not an implication that you had this in mind. If the comment was insulting to anyone, it would be to T3H_PL4Y3R >_>

As for the concerns about size, another potential layout suggestion would be to decrease the size of the right side of the map, if possible. That is, you could scale down the underwater room with Spark Shot and Gemini Laser, shift the Arrow Upgrade room to the left, and maybe even remove the area with the fountain with Treble Sentry at the top. Doing so would balance out the map, and if the Bubble Lead room was directly connected to the Gyro Attack side of the Arrow Buster area, it would potentially remove both issues I mentioned about the 'two sides to a wall of water' thing.
