Anything Goes / Cutstuff MMRP (Construction / Signup)

What is this even? Another mediocre, unoriginal roleplay? Boo, we have enou- nope

Welcome, writers, to a legitimate, character-driven roleplay group well, what is intended to be, at least! Things here will become much clearer as I get this on its feet, but let's say that this is relatively similar to the previous Cutstuff War, with a few notable changes to make things more interesting and less... hrm, confusing.

An MM-centric RP! Yes, that should do it. Canon characters will allow anyone to jump in and play along (with a bit of writing ability, obviously), but we can open the floor to OCs as well, if that's where we feel comfortable.

Plot wise, I have an idea or two in mind, but I'd like to open the floor to suggestions as far as what brings all of the RMs back together, and what they'd be doing / destroying / saving the planet from.

Now, this can be done one of several ways:

First, we have the "tried and true" method of putting up a single thread where everyone will likely get confused by multiple settings and character interactions, godmodding will be unfiltered, and who even gives a damn about what posting order is anyway

Secondly, multiple threads could be opened for different locations, scenes, or individuals.

Third, and likely most complicated option, is real-time play via Skype, or possibly even 8BDM itself.

Cool beans... Wait, we must have rules!

Sounds cool! How I join?

Simple, really. Just fill out one of these:

I know, it's a lot to read/take in. Questions and comments are open, as are plot suggestions and how we should proceed. Here's to the writers!

W.I.P Forum / The 8BDM Announcers Replacement Super Special Mod Project!
« on: September 11, 2013, 01:03:59 AM »
Why? Because I can.
Calling all voice actors!

Get ready to show your best impressions, because it's time to do something about that pesky announcer (or lack thereof.). If you caught the previous Zandronum update packed in with v3b, you probably noticed the announcer folder and voice-overs in the game. While nostalgic and occasionally humorous, the guy seemed out place in 8BDM, so I got rid of the folder. The next time I booted up the game, however, I started to miss the poor Quake guy! Can you believe it?!

Regardless, I suddenly found myself wondering about how the Doctors Light and Wily would call upon their robots in the tournament. Then I thought, hey, let's see if we can't let the Docs take the booth, so to speak.

So, in short, I want to organize a small mod to replace the default announcer voice with custom-made clips of Light and Wily. In solo modes, the player can obviously choose either one to commentate on their matches, but I'd like them to be assigned to their respective teams and have clips for team-based matches such as CTF*, if that's even possible.

* IE: Stuff like: "Wily's team has taken the flag!" "Which one of you scrap-brains dropped ze flag?!"

So, if there's interest, I'll need to recruit two or three gentlemen to help me get this tiny thing out there. I'm looking for a Light and a Wily (and possibly Cossack and Mr. X) to do some voice work. If you'd like to volunteer your vocal chords,  shoot me a PM and maybe a sound byte or two, and we'll talk.

For the good Dr. Light, I am looking for;
- a calm, older gent with a bit of weight on him.
- something like PU or MHX voice; Proud and firm.

For the fanatical Dr. Wily, I seek;
- grizzled, maniacal, possibly German accent (a'la Ruby-Spears).
- able to get really pissed-off at his idiotic creations.

The MegaDoom Music Pack!

Ever feel like your 8BDM experience could use a little more... "Doom" in it? I mean, it is based on a Doom engine.
Never fear, the MEGADOOM pack is here! Using the power of MIDI, I have compiled an assortment of rockin' Mega Man tunes arranged with a very Doom-like sound and slapped them into a nice little pack for use whenever you'd like! Music codes are below, enjoy!

Be warned, some of these can be a bit loud when played in-game. Turn your sound down a bit before entering the codes.
