Kudos to you, Broker. Some real gems this time around, and it's been a while since I got a laugh from the bots. The Indy lines and the Gen-Unit's chats are spot-on.

Pretty sure that's accurate. Wasn't sure if resetting the timer with each hit was how it worked but I'll edit that in.

even though it really doesn't need to be 99.9999% accurate

I'm suddenly interested in this again. Entirely different approach to a class this time. As far as content goes, my hectic schedule won't allow the time to sit down and code out the class.

I will be able to provide the skin, HUD, and all of the projectiles. Maybe sound bites for the hell of it.

its exactly like halo am i cool yet guys

I'm no expert on Zandronum or the Doom engine, but the mainfire alone may be a challenge (I'd think one would need to do some tinkering to have the sticky mechanic work in this way). Anyone is welcome to try.

The thing is that I tend to freak out the first time I enter a boss room. I have been killed by almost every RM at least ten times before I can start to figure out their pattern and can calmly approach them and eventually work the fight down to a science, as I'm sure most long-time players have.

Bosses like Wind and Crystal, on the other hand, have an element of chaos to their fights with either lots of projectiles or ones that move in nonsensical ways. The urgency I feel when first fighting the boss never leaves because you have to be constantly moving to avoid them, and with how quickly Wind can use one attack after the other, the freakout is inevitable. To avoid that, I never face him first and grab his weakness. I've just never taken the time to approach these guys calmly.

That and MM6 was generally pretty easy otherwise. Aside from having no quick select with such a large item selection.

That's... uh, John Carter, isn't it? Or Mad Max. Some sci-first movie. Looks neat though.

We don't need a Bass/Evil Robot/Sunstar/rediculousGaryStuOC running around killing everything in sight right at the beginning.
"Restricted", not banned. Also, this prevents these characters from being picked up by someone who can't handle them properly or will use them to completely take over the plot.

I never for certain stated that 8BDM would actually be used, but I'm certain that it can be done if there's an interest and people are willing to try. Other than that, Skype is a much less confusing way.

I'm getting to that. As I said, I have a few ideas, but I decided to wait for a bit of input first.

... given the history of Cutstuff RPs, especially ones themed around Mega Man, there's no way I can see this ending well. ESPECIALLY especially considering that you're considering in-game RPing using 8BDM itself.

Which is understandable. I've had a bit of experience as an RP admin in a large community, and that's also why I've taken precautions. Restricted characters, for one. We don't need a Bass/Evil Robot/Sunstar/rediculousGaryStuOC running around killing everything in sight right at the beginning.

Also, playing a canon character is not an exact science, at least in my experience. There are places that enforce unbroken canon, but the majority of casual groups let the player have a bit of wiggle room with how the character is played. The RMs have very vague personalities for the most part, so that's doubly true in this situation. You can interpret the character however you wish, as long as they stay within range of what is canon.

Meaning this RP does not have to end up being a pungeon. unless we get a cut man immediately

What is this even? Another mediocre, unoriginal roleplay? Boo, we have enou- nope

Welcome, writers, to a legitimate, character-driven roleplay group well, what is intended to be, at least! Things here will become much clearer as I get this on its feet, but let's say that this is relatively similar to the previous Cutstuff War, with a few notable changes to make things more interesting and less... hrm, confusing.

An MM-centric RP! Yes, that should do it. Canon characters will allow anyone to jump in and play along (with a bit of writing ability, obviously), but we can open the floor to OCs as well, if that's where we feel comfortable.

Plot wise, I have an idea or two in mind, but I'd like to open the floor to suggestions as far as what brings all of the RMs back together, and what they'd be doing / destroying / saving the planet from.

Now, this can be done one of several ways:

First, we have the "tried and true" method of putting up a single thread where everyone will likely get confused by multiple settings and character interactions, godmodding will be unfiltered, and who even gives a damn about what posting order is anyway

Secondly, multiple threads could be opened for different locations, scenes, or individuals.

Third, and likely most complicated option, is real-time play via Skype, or possibly even 8BDM itself.

Cool beans... Wait, we must have rules!

Simple, really. Just fill out one of these:

I know, it's a lot to read/take in. Questions and comments are open, as are plot suggestions and how we should proceed. Here's to the writers!

Reposting for relevance.

I've been putting together a massive WAD compiling every custom bot I've come across, for my own personal use while playtesting things and just generally seeing what I can break. Included are the Online/Offline Skirmish player bots, TF2 bots, Stardroids, and a handful of chats shamelessly stolen borrowed from the old bot chat thread, plus a few of my own.

I've also seen that Bot Apocalypse seems to be making a mini-comeback.

You can probably guess where this is going.

I can release that massive Frankenstein of a bot file (so long as the chat writers don't have an issue with it) and we can throw 'em together. I think it might be entertaining, at least.

... "Entertainment" being a few people fighting an army of Daleks. Or Steven Colbert clones.

tl;dr - Bot Apocalypse with custom bots and/or OOS.

Looking closer at this, I saw the Dark Men fleeing in the Wily Fortress, Skull Man in a few flash frames, and Star Man taking an E-Tank to the face.

Fantastic.
