I cannot count all the newcomers I've helped out just to never see them again. Teaching them how to use name colors, tell them how to get their mouse functioning, inform them about Doomseeker, and junk like that. They aren't staying whether they're being "trolled" or not. It's their own lack of interest in a Mega Man based first person shooter with countless extra files to download and add in order to join any server with someone on it that's keeping them away. Even I admit that it's too much to download for a few measly minutes of playing before the server dies. And I know people are going to go all, "that's why I host vanilla servers!" and crap, but unless those are the servers that are populated, they aren't doing a thing.
Yes, there are jerks. Yes, I am one of them. No, they are not to blame for the new players getting bored of this game. No, they are not to blame for schoolwork getting in the way of new players that actually do have a speck of interest in this dying bag of letters and sprites. People like Tsuki, Bikdark, and friends are only pricks when they're provoked. Don't want them to mess with you? Don't mess with them. I know people are going to claim they haven't done anything to provoke them and that they're 100% innocent. No one is.
If the trolls were really that bad, why are people like Gumballtoid still here? He's been getting a whole rack of hate recently, and he's staying strong. MegaLAD and Fyone are still here. They've got each other. Remember ProtoMan01? He's still somewhat active. He's got Sean to look up to. That's why people stay here. They've got friends. If they don't have anyone to talk to, someone to relate to, they'll leave. Hell, the reason I haven't been playing nearly as much as earlier is because I've got so few people I want to join on servers. Where did ThatGuy074 go? Where did Lego go? Where did Michael go? Where did Llama go? Where did Turbo go? Where did Sora go? Where did Obelisk go? Where did Roc, Vortale, Shade, and Yellow Devil go? I don't see them on MM8BDM servers any time I check Doomseeker. I've got no reason to join any server. I mean, if the game had some variety to it, I'd play just for the sake of playing. Let's check what's on Doomseeker as I'm typing this.
