Welcome to Cutstuff, Brassilero! If you want to introduce yourself, head over to this thread.

Otherwise, let's make sure to keep this forum game on topic*!

I would delete Bass.EXE from my computer.

Good question!

There will be three Wily Castle maps, for Wily Stages 1, 2, and 3+4.

Like I said, Dark Man's castle is possible if you're allowed to use Charge Kick and Mega Ball (of course, assuming no Rush Jet). Getting to Astro Crush just requires a pretty difficult Charge Kick jump out the Ice Wave tower window.

Also KD the fence strat was better
I'm not quite sure what you mean? The fence strat was used in the winning route...

Unfortunately lucaswoop, this topic has been inactive for almost 4 years; be sure to check dates in threads before you post. And VirtualSonic, SmashTheEchidna is right.

That being said, lucaswoop, you will find a different Mewtwo skin in this thread. Otherwise, maybe someone else who still has this version can send you a link via PM.

is the MM7 campaign not going to stick out like a sore thumb for once or wat
The MM7 campaign is absolutely something we're looking at for version 5.

That reminds me, Will there be speed increases a la Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo to make it a bit more like Quake's Pacing?
...No? I don't think Mega Man's short legs can carry him much faster than they already do.

Greetings, people of Cutstuff and MM8BDM!

With the release of MM8BDM v4c, the time has come to devote all of our efforts to Version 5, the MM9 Expansion.

(click to show/hide)
I'm sure you have questions, so as usual I'll get to those right away.

1) Where are Ivory and CutmanMike?
With Ivory's departure as head of the development team, that spot has now been re-filled. Korby and I will be serving as co-leaders of the MM9 Expansion. That means direct your questions and concerns to us. Mike and Ivory will of course still be working on their projects (single player and Light's Lab). Korby and I work very well together and I'm confident in our ability to bring you a fantastic Version 5 with the rest of the dev team!

2) Gee wilickers I love MM9!
Me too! MM9 is my favorite Mega Man game so I'm excited for this opportunity. Development has, as usual, already begun for v5. Obviously this far out there is no release date announced, but we will be hard at work!

3) Can I help?
Mega Man 9 is a different beast from MM8 and MM&B because we're back classic-y resources. We've already got a lot of work underway, so chances are that what you want to do is already being accomplished. If there is ever anything we need from the public, Korby and I will make that clear. If you really want to try and submit something you've done, talk to Korby or me privately. Quality is our top concern!

4) Who's making my favorite skin/map/weapon?
I will not be revealing the identity of anyone else on the team. Those are individuals are free to do so at their discretion.

5) So, what can I expect with the MM9 Expansion?
-New maps from Mega Man 9!
-New weapons from Mega Man 9!
-New skins from Mega Man 9!
-Shiny new single player campaign!
-Improvements to existing content!
-And much more!  :)

I'm very excited to make a fantastic version 5 for all of you alongside Korby and the rest of the development team!

As usual please understand that all content and screenshots are subject to change.

Revealed information:
-MM7 Campaign slated to be reexamined
-3 MM9 Wily Castle maps, representing Wily Castle Stages 1, 2, and 3+4.

Screenshots:

And with that, please use this thread for all of your questions, concerns, suggestions, speculations, etc., and always stay tuned for more information!

So... would this be the appropriate thread to report WADs/mods/etc. that don't work under Zandronum 2.0? Or would it be better to (necro-)post in the original WAD/mod threads? 'cause just as an example... I get a DECORATE error that prevents the game from starting when trying to play "Survival in Numbers" single player mission mode.
This is something you should report to mod authors directly on their threads or otherwise, but the diligent ones at least should already be on top of it. There are bound to be many incompatibilities if only because we have a whole new integer of Zandronum (this is not the only reason though), so reporting all of them here would be too much, and less productive anyway.

Btw, Sakugarne in LMS had alot more ammo than usual, it still worked for quite some time after the energy bar was empty.
I'm unable to replicate this. Are you sure no additional ammo mods or cheats were in place when you observed that?

Dark Man's castle is only possible if certain weapons are allowed, and even in that case it is incredibly difficult. Don't get me wrong, I'd love it, but I don't think that's a very good choice.

If Korby decides to do this again, perhaps he will ask Michael to choose the next map. Personally I'd love to see Shade Man.

Wouldn't it be funny that each coin you collect activates a trap on the map? :L
While this might be funny, I think it detracts from the mode, and makes it less simplistic. One reason why I love this so much, is that such a simple goal as "collect every weapon on the map" can become a very involved and complicated effort to master.

I'm curious to know what your route was, CDRom! You were in the server a lot trying to plan it out.

Good game, Mickle! I definitely could have beaten that time but you were better and more consistent, so you definitely earned it! The route got so hard ;-;

For those wondering about the winning route:
1) knight crush -> junk shield
2) grab left rush, turn around and rush up to balcony
3) grab metal blade, turn around, grab air shooter
4) jump to rain flush
5) from rain flush, jump to fence of opposite balcony (Fence/clip trick)
6) thunder beam -> snakes -> ice wall -> flame sword
7) dash down steps to yamato spear, clipping the edge of the bottom step (stair/clip trick)
8) yamato -> jump down to fence above air shooter (fence/clip trick)
9) grab quick, rush coil, run down stairs to landing
10) jump towards atomic fire, drop rush, grab atomic and hit rush simultaneously, land on homing sniper wall
11) homing sniper -> jump to flash bomb ladder
12) end at flash bomb

Technically there is a way to save time, by forgoing the left balcony at the beginning. Grab one dog, run to the other, jump up to Rain and immediately jump over to the Thunder Beam balcony, and grab Metal Blade too. Then proceed to Yamato as usual. From Yamato, rather than fencing down, drop over to Air Shooter and grab it like Atomic Fire (with the extra Rush you grabbed), then jump cancel onto the fence and continue to the end. Found to be hard to do to save time online though, so it wasn't used in any of the top times.

Just wanna say it was great seeing how many people got so into this, especially in the first week. This was a great event.

Congrats to Watzup too, look at that sexy top 3 under 19 seconds.

Also shout outs to Llama for the Llama and Neo Llama routes. As well as shout outs to double dog, safety dog, danger dog, elite dog, air dog, walking the dog, atomic dog/hot dog, and yolo dog. You the real MVPs.

Woah Zhade that's really awesome! It's really cool seeing how you're exploring all kinds of different artistic mediums. Can't wait to hear more!

BEES-CLARINET.MP3 is the true path of the future though. Made me smile when I listened to it.

The fence trick (as well as every other [at least relevant] trick) still works in Zand 2.0.

This mod has not yet been updated for compatibility with Zandronum 2.0, which the new version of MM8BDM runs on, so it won't even run on Zand 2.0.

If you're loading this mod with Zandronum 1.3/MM8BDM v4b, you'll get a couple sprite errors. Spark Man and some others have had their pain frames removed because they were causing issues due to size.

I could actually set up a Wiki on Cutstuff.net if everyone would prefer that, and only allow trusted users to edit it. Bit of a shame though, since a lot of information has already been set up on the wikia one. Someone would have to migrate everything over manually unless Wikia has some kind of export function (I doubt it, or else everyone would be doing this to avoid wikia's trash ads). Might be able to shut it down though and start fresh? Let me know if you guys would want that.
I think this is a great idea. Would be happy to be part of that process.

This is great fun. Also I hope everyone remembers that the top three listed in-server are not the the top three unique individuals, but rather the top three times. So the third place time is far bigger (more time) than what the server says. Don't give up!
