Help & Editing / Re: Question about playing MM8B Death Match
« on: October 15, 2012, 06:31:23 PM »
Hmm, I've personally never been a fan of playing PC games in Full-Screen mode. I've always perfered "window"ed mode since, forever really. Hope it dont sound weird or anything.

I actually do "not" experience slowdown or lagging, just skulltag literally makes this laptop shoot up almost 100 degree's F alone by itself, in a matter of minutes. And apparently this laptop's maximim limit is 212 F

Even if it's just sitting on the blue "command prompt"-looking screen before it gets into the game.

But, is there actually any settings for window'd though ?? besides just the screen-window size ?? To make it use the least possible CPU processing possible. For skulltag.exe ...

Or no im guessing ? :(
I spent hours searching on google for anything related to "skulltag configuation for low-end PC" or similiar keyword searches, and haven't had any luck.

Help & Editing / Question about playing MM8B Death Match
« on: October 15, 2012, 05:08:24 AM »
I hope you guys wont go too rough on me about this, but I was wondering if anyone might know if it's possible to get megaman 8 bit death match, or skulltag rather... to run in the weakest/lowest possible PC settings ?? If it's even possible at all to setup to not use maximum CPU nonstop.

Within 2 minutes of loading megaman 8 bit death match - skulltag.exe makes this laptop jump up from 115 degrees to 200+ Fahrenheit :(
And 1 of the 2 cores max CPU at-all-times literally. (not like it matters anyway as seen by the temps).

This comp is running Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM. I dont know what else i need to tell exactly.

But isn't this just supposed to be the doom engine from like the 1990's ?? Why is it so extremely demanding like this ??
2 seperate computers i've played on always have hit 200~ Fahrenheit every single time just because of skulltag only. :(

The problem is no servers ever appear period...

I actually scroll down the list and even sort by "iwad" ..i get purely nothing except stupid doom crap all the time...never see megagame.wad in either of these 2 programs... i just dont understand. When this was just perfectly 100% fine when i came online everyday from december 2011 and backwards.. :(

I have the latest doomseeker 0.8.1, i tried .net:15300, .com - always doom doom doom ..hundreds of them...it's getting really irritating.

I wish it were possible to make this block all and any IP addresses that host anything-doom...and only search/detect megagame.wad and nothing else...rather than querying doom all the time.

Well... is it possible ??

Yes, i did try. I went back to the .net:15300..
It's back to normal...

But still never any megagame.wad servers on either of the programs.

And...what's this people are talking about in some posts "IP range ban" ..how would i check "just in case" if i might be caught in it somehow ?? I seriously hope not though, i haven't played in nearly a half year.. and just now wanted to come back cause i really miss getting to play mm 8bitdm with everyone. :(

Okay i tried that..
But it doesn't help.
It never makes any servers show up period when i try master.skulltag.com

Not even doom1, or doom2 even...absolutely nothing. :(

I've not seen any servers for a few months. :( I haven't played anything since December 2011...i started checking everyday after feburary this year...and i never see anything...

I've done what was suggested in the first post properly for doomseeker..

I downloaded the latest internet doom explorer for the first time just now, double checked the options to make sure it was using master.skulltag.net:15300 and it was already set to it..

Still see nothing except doom1 and doom 2 servers. :(

And the post rozark linked to didn't have any helpful information at all..

W.I.P Forum / Re: [Expansion] Megaman Forever (WE NEED MOAR MAPPERS!!)
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:19:24 PM »
There is a easy way to get all the tilsets for the stages that you guys dont have yet.

You guys could download the MegaFLE level editor (an level editor for megaman 3, 4, 5 and 6 all-in-one).

And then open the hack in it.
It has a bunch of "dump [image]" tools. It should make it far more easier to get the hard ones like boil and propel. There's a dump menu from the main window. - Make sure you open said window before clicking it though or you might get a blank empty image.

for example like... Level ----> Tile Table, and Level ----> TSA Table, to see the constructed blocks and such.

You can download megafle from here.

at first when you open the rom, it's going to say that it couldn't detect it, so type "mm4" and press enter.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Screenshots
« on: June 11, 2011, 07:58:11 AM »
I think this might be screenshot worthy so i'll show it. :)
I completed the single player mode a little while ago finally after playing most of the day.

Took me 50 or so tries to beat wily, and when i did finally, i ended up dieing to one of the lightning balls that were travelling across the ground, and beat him at the same time with ZERO life remaining

And i still got to view the ending cutscene :)
