I have frames for Flame's alt fire and all of Charge's animations, and I got started on Burst's bubble frames and Shade's swoop (that thing's a bitch). I'm not sure if they're on this computer, though; if they aren't, the quickest I can get them to you is around Thanksgiving.

Edit: Also have Bright's Flash Stopper frames somewhere, just wish I knew about this over the weekend while I was actually home, haha

Good afternoon! We're ready to provide another top-shelf update for DOS Reborn with the help of one of our Robot Masters once again.

(click to show/hide)

While Torch Man is busy nursing his wounds, I'll take the time to give credit! This map was built by Thunderono and textured by Caprice. Our handy cameraman was, as always, DarkAura.

News on most other fronts has been pretty slow- it's a lot of little tune-ups to existing content while we wait on textures at the moment. Skins are being touched up and weapons are still being fine-tuned to bring optimal performance. Updates will still be few and far between, but we'll be sure to keep everyone in the loop once we've got more to show off.

Until next time!

I like how the current one is shinier, all things considered. Weapons with white secondaries just absorb it, anyway- if it looks bad because of two different shades of white, I don't feel like it'd be a big issue to just change the shade of white the buster has now.

Anything Goes / Re: Dental problem

I didn't think anyone came to Cutstuff for dental advice, of all things.

I doubt your gums will turn white from a procedure like that, but soreness is a possibility. You probably ought to ask the dentist doing it about the side effects of having such a procedure done.

To be fair, you technically missed Police Man, who was in the Archie Comics in a Short Circuit edition. He ought to be considered a separate character from Fake Man due to the lack of a buster on his arm and a slightly different head design.

Pretty impressive on the whole of course. The lower you go, the funnier it gets.

Would rather not get ripped to shreds by Solar Blaze within 30 seconds of spawning, thanks.

If we've reached the point where tournaments have players ban nearly half the classes in a mod to make things seem equal, I believe it speaks more about the mod than the player base.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Favorite Generic Stage Enemies
« on: September 22, 2016, 02:19:33 PM »

THE GRACE! THAT FORM!

I like a lot of enemies from Mega Man, to be honest- probably too many to list. The series is very good at making, as old boxarts would say, "mecha minions to bash with the Mega Buster(!!)" Mecha Pitchan is definitely one of them, though; I've always liked how simple and goofy he is.

Personally, I love some of the enemies from MMV for the Gameboy.

Hyoey can be tricky to fight, but the design is really cool and the way you have to fight on the bobbing ship makes it a little more challenging.

I like the simplicity and quirkiness in Palm Hoppers. Only Wily would think to make a grasshopper robot that fires massive rockets at people when it lands.

Not MMV, but I still can't get over the imagery of Gachappon being a massive French vending machine because of the black holder thing it has. Fighting it is pretty boring, but I always loved what it looked like.

I'm also tempted to put all of 7's minibosses sans Proto Man. All of them are pretty fun to fight against and there are some great designs mixed in there.

This isn't really a problem, but you're posting this in the wrong spot. Any old DOS content should go into Gospel's topic-- he's the guy in charge of that. We're doing something really different.

Evening folks! I'm here from the DOS Reborn team to provide you with a huge update!

Sorry for the delay-- we've been working hard on this update, but a lot of us have had to adjust to new schools and colleges. As a result, work progressed a bit slower than usual with this one. Not to mention this update is freakin' huge!!! Hope it was worth the wait!

Let's get right down to it, with a little help from one of our own!

(click to show/hide)

Thanks, Volt Man! He forgot to mention that the map was built AND textured by Duora Super Gyro, and that the weapon was coded by Badz and sprited by (who else?) IamaMedalHunter! The screenshots were taken by DarkAura, too, so big props to them!

You may have noticed that there were no DOS weapons present on the version of the map we showed. There's a reason for this- custom weapons, while not inherently bad or anything, aren't always welcome when it comes to online play. After all, who would want to play Deathmatch in a server with this loaded and only get the juicy DOS Reborn weapons when you roll a DOS Reborn map? No thanks, man.

Instead, we decided to throw server hosts a bone and make a version of the maps where only core weapons are present! This means that those who don't care for the weapons we roll out can enjoy the maps with all that core weapon goodness.

In other news, a few of our skins are getting updates as well. They'll be dropping in a new version of the skin pack whenever they're done. Some of them are fixing up minor issues, like color palettes, while others are getting total makeovers. We've also got more maps and weapons coming down the pipeline soon enough. We'll keep you posted as often as we can! Until next time!

My firewall was blocking it lmao Norton sucks

I thought I unblocked it initially, but I had to make sure it got through after checking the permissions.

OHMYGODIWONSOMETHINGHOLYSCHNICKIES

Glad everyone enjoyed my map! I thought I had a pretty good shot at like 4th in this compo, but to see me take home the community vote really brings a smile to my face. Thanks to everyone who voted!

And I owe Thunder a huge thank you to all the support he gave me while I was building my map. Seriously, the amount of inane questions I gave him about setting up GZDoom Builder probably would have driven other people crazy, and he was always available to test out new builds and give his thoughts on it. Without him, there's no way I could've gotten this far. Not to mention the fact he made a kick-ass map himself! Congrats on the big win- you earned it, man.

Congrats to Korby and the rest of the competitors as well! This compo was really fun, and I'm glad I just managed to get something finished for one of these. Looking forward to when another mapping competition begins!
