The only shield weapon that would be acceptable in its current state for CTF is Leaf Shield, in my opinion. All of the others offer way too much defensive benefit for flag carriers. At least Leaf Shield doesn't last very long or offer defense buffs that can protect a flag carrier to an inane degree.

Star Crash would also be all right, but that's much less of a shield weapon than the others are.

The reason I said that was because I was supposed to have custom props on my map. Gumball finished two props for me (Metall K1000 and Rembakun) that I was going to put in, but I ran into internet issues over here at college and I wasn't able to finish it myself.

Whatever. As long as the base map is all right, I shouldn't complain. Once I finally get my files I'll probably upload a new version that has the props in there.

The forum doesn't look bad, to be honest. I've just been used to the old one for like 4 years, so this will take some getting used to. Might as well bring up a bullet list concerning old features, though.

    Will medals be coming back sometime in the future?
    How about join date and location?
    Any chance of seeing signature support underneath posts? I'm indifferent about it, but I figured I might as well see if it's supported.
    Seriously tho when's twitch emotes  :-[
    Is there a way to make new posts in forums easier to see? The old forum made it pretty simple to just check on new stuff- see if the page is orange and woosh on over there. This setup kind of confuses me with how it handles new posts.

Wow, shoot. I guess I didn't even notice that they were nearly the same. My bad, Jax, there isn't any stealing intended.

The shots don't decrease in damage over time, and they bounce until they dissipate.

Hey, folks! Sorry for the long wait in-between updates. We're far from defunct; unfortunately, the majority of the progress we've worked on isn't suitable to show at the moment.

We still have another weapon ready to tease, however!

Work has, once again, progressed well pretty much everywhere. We're planning on having all the weapons finished sometime soon (all the ones we have currently are updated to v5 standards), and we're touching up and texturing a few of the maps as well. Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to update with any form of regularity very often, as I'll be heading off to college in a little over a week, but rest assured that we'll still continue to work on this expansion!

I'm afraid I can't see what you mean. I just checked through all the sprites in Slade; none of them have a black background, and the sprites all have the correct names as far as an 8-directional skin goes.

This is Mecha Pitchan, the pitching robot from MM10. He's 8-directional. It's a pretty cool skin.

Here's Cargou Q, the robot that throws balls at you from MM10. This is the round ball version, I have a football version sprited but not skinned. It's a pretty cool skin.

Screenshots will come eventually. Otherwise yeah.

This is a minor gripe, but MM7DW4 still has Centaur Flash in the middle platform that requires Super Adaptor to reach. Given its old function, this was an acceptable placement, but with its changes in v5, other maps have set a precedent as making it much easier to grab (I think MM9JEW has it easily accessible). I don't think making it hard to reach is necessarily bad, but the requirements to grab it on MM7DW4 make it a bit over the top for what the weapon can do now. I think it ought to be changed to some other AOE weapon that packs a better punch, given its placement.

Recommendation about the shark carrier barriers: Why not just make them the buildings that the carrier flies by? It would probably look cleaner than some weird electric force field thing popping up in the city.

Of course, that would end up looking weird with the gaps in between the buildings and the fact that they're 3D sectors and not just linedefs, but I think it's worth looking into.

Help & Editing / Server Connection Issue

I have a feeling that this has been covered in past topics, but a quick gleaning of the help & editing forum didn't produce any results, so that's why I'm here.

I'm having a lot of trouble connecting to servers after v5 dropped. I have all my file paths set up correctly and the game loads fine, but it just goes to the console screen where it says "Connecting to (Server IP Address)" over and over. I'm not sure if this is something with how Doomseeker should be set up or if it's firewall skulduggery, but any help would be appreciated.

This fucked me over on MM6's chapter twice, can confirm. I mean, I'm not entirely opposed to it since it gives you another chance to grab a handy weapon against the chapter boss, but I can't imagine that this was implemented on purpose.
