Soooo, I'm a big fan of the Dragon Quest series, so I thought-- why not have a discussion thread for the series!

The first Dragon Quest game I played was Dragon Warrior Monsters on the GBC, and the sequel to that game is still one of my favorites!  Dragon Quest IX is also super-awesome, too-- the multiplayer was pretty awesome, even though a lot of the classes in the game were a bit unbalanced.  Has anybody else played any of these games?

Whoops, sorry to take so long getting back to you, Fyone-- the skin looks great!  Do you mind if I tweak it a little bit more before putting it in officially?  Some of the offsets still look a little odd to me, but it's not anything major.

Did anyone else play an old old The Games Factory game called Mega Man 2000?  All I can remember is that it started with a 3D top-down Skull Man stage that I could never get past.  It was very nifty, though, as Games Factory games go!  :p

Blade Knight looks great, Fyone!  Would you have time to do a little bit of tuning up with it, though?  I noticed that there were a couple of offset errors for the firing and hurt sprites, where his feet go down into the floor, and I think his back-diagonal walking maybe jumps sideways a little too much.  Also, the front/back walking might need a little tweaking, too-- I think that mainly all it needs is for one hand to come forward when the other comes back, so he doesn't just put his arms behind him.  I think there's a missing pixel from the tip of his sword on the second forward-walking frame, too.  I hope this isn't too critical, and thanks so much for putting in so much work to help with the expansion!

Also, Bugzzy looks great so far, Metool!  Sorry, though, I didn't mean to take away Brotoad's WIP if you still needed it.  The only cranky-flavored criticisms I would have would be that his wing heights/sizes seem a little inconsistent between the angles-- maybe his wings should be a little smaller on the front/back/side frames, to match with the original diagonal one?  I might also make the back-diagonal wings a little bit bigger, and move his hand up a little on the straight-back direction.  Thanks again for helping with the expansion-- let me know if there's anything I can do to help out!

Oh, okay, I think I see what you mean-- I think you can leave that out, as long as the walking animation doesn't end up looking stiff.  Sorry for misunderstanding!  If there's anything I can do to help, let me know!

I guess it really depends on how you decide to do it.  It seemed like there was a Hakumen skin somewhere (actually, I think I found it on the MM8BDM Wiki) that had a decent-looking sidestep animation.  What exactly did you have in mind?

Ow-- you got me there.  If it's all right with you, then, Fyone, I do think it would make the skin a lot cooler looking to have him sidestep.  I'm just trying not to be too picky, since the expansion's got so much work left on it.  But I do think you're right-- I really don't want the quality to suffer, either.

Sounds great, Kage-- Looks good so far!

Also, Fyone, I think that so far, the weapons for skins like the Javelin/Axe Knight have been left gold for the skins-- keeping it gold would be more consistent with the others.

Also, that Famitracker song is super neat, Metool!  Given the crawl-y rate the expansion is going, we probly shouldn't add any more maps, though. :P

I am hoping to keep this expansion going-- I've just been super busy with a lot of different projects and the like.  Hopefully I can get back to making progress on this at some point!
