It could also be another palette related issue...  From what I can tell, some programs are pretty finicky when it comes to palettes, so if you don't know exactly what you're doing, you can end up messing up the palette, and then things don't work properly.

Does anyone want to try fixing this image? I've tried different things like saving a correct(?) palette and resaving the uploaded one etc. but I cannot get it to look correct.

I can get it working for me, but the image is off by a bit for some reason, by 3x and 6y.  That needs to be corrected, and then I can upload a properly-colored one for you. :)

I'm not familiar with most editors, but doing something like changing to RGB mode seems like it may have changed the palette.  Also, importing between the RM7FC stage select screen and a MM4 stage select screen might very well have done something as well.

If you changed the palette at all, then that is likely the problem.

If you haven't changed the palette, though, then I don't know, someone else will have to help. :)

I have a theory I developed after playing MM10.  Wily got sick, but then claimed he's human, not a robot, and therefore couldn't have contracted roboenza.  But what if Wily actually is a robot, and has been for a long time?  A giant mass of stone fell on him at the end of MM3.  Perhaps he died, but he prepared a robot replacement for such an occasion, and this robot replacement has all of Wily's memories and such and believes itself to actually be human.

That's my theory.

Behold! The newest version of the Ultimate Stage Select! Now with Mega Man and Bass 2 bosses!
(Note, I had to get their pictures by ripping it off a video, if someone knows where the original photo is please let me know!)

Interesting.  I came into this thread just to suggest something like this.  A game where you can fight all of the Robot Masters and get all of their weapons.  Of course, Wily's castle would have to be absolutely immense as well.  Also, some weaknesses may have to be adjusted to allow for cross-game weapon usage against the Robot Masters.  For example, what does Metal Blade do to Tengu Man?  Or what does Wave Burner do to Snake Man?

I read somewhere a little while back that the sprites for MM&B are only sprite mock-ups and that the group has no plans right now to actually make the games.  I really hope they do decide to make the game, though.  I think it would be a lot of fun in 8-bit.

Those are odd changes to Sword Man's stage.  They do kind of make it more like one might expect an NES version of Sword Man's stage to be, but it's still a bit odd.  There are only three "trials" now instead of four, and if you die on one of the trials, you have to redo all of them.

The files it uses recolor colors you use instantly in MSPaint. It's five times easier to work in MSPaint than anything else.

I still disagree.  NeoPaint maintains color palettes no problem and has simple zoom and grid features.  I don't doubt MSPaint is great, but I wouldn't call it the best. :p However, it is free, so I suppose it gets points for that.

Any program that is not MSPaint will break the images.

Not quite accurate.  I use NeoPaint and it works great, probably better than MSPaint, actually, but it's not free.

Slash Man's stage looks great!

I have a comment on the recovery items, though.  The little bottle should be the small energy (it is in Kirby's games) and the meat (or the M fruit) should be large energy.  If you're using the M fruit as the E-Tank, then I suppose the meat should be used as the energy pellet, but it really should be the large one.

I just ignore it. Kirby isn't that much smaller than Mega Man, so it isn't really a big deal.

Okay.  That makes sense.

Video preview coming soon.

That looks awesome!  I'm curious, though, about how you get around the fact that Kirby is a smaller target than Mega Man.  Do you just ignore it, or have you figured out a way to change the hit box on Mega Man?

He's askin' someone to sprite an entire sheet for him so he can use it in his mod.

While yes, what I said was very inconsiderate, he should at the very least provide one sprite!

That's a good point.  There should probably be something to work from at least.

...If you're going to change something, do it yourself.

That hardly seems fair...  I definitely understand what you're saying, but if someone isn't good at spriting themselves, it only makes sense to ask for assistance from others who are good at it.  One's personal skills shouldn't inhibit him or her from completing a project he or she has envisioned when there are many people out there capable of helping the person complete his or her project.
