So I've been getting into a few Sonic the Hedgehog ROM hacks lately. Some personal thoughts on ones I've played:
-Sonic Classic Heroes: Not only you can play Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 throughout with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles all tagging along, but you can also play as Team Chaotix.
-Jester's Challenge: A well crafted maze. Takes ages to find your way to the end, though, and if you lose to the final boss afterwards, you'll have to do it all over again. The music is almost MP3 quality, considering it's just the regular Mega Drive.
-Robotnik's Revenge: This is a boss rush that pits you up against all the bosses from Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 in quick succession.
-Sonic Bash: Speaking of bosses, this is a unique take to the usual competitive 2-player mode, where during a time limit one player must get the most hits on Dr. Eggman than the other player to win, whilst trying to survive at the same time, and the monitors that appear can either help you or mess you up.
-Ring Ride 4: OMG MY ULTIMATE FANTASY :D
-Sonic the Hedgehog: The Next Level: Well designed three act zone with amazing music, graphics, and all new enemies. It even has the Super Peelout move from Sonic CD. Both the music and the last boss are absolutely jaw dropping considering it's just the plain ol' Mega Drive and not the Sega CD or 32X attachments.
Also, I bought 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 a few weeks ago for my 3DS as well, and I've been enjoying it with the stereoscopic 3D, so, yay me?
