The WWW board / Captain Ventris Presents: The Livestream Show
« on: October 09, 2010, 03:32:47 PM »
So, just successfully aired the first episode of what is hopefully to be weekly Livestream show about the Doom community and PC Gaming in general. The show can be viewed in the Livestream channel: http://www.livestream.com/captainventrispresents

Each episode is recorded and is available for viewing in the Library section at the bottom of the page. The first episode was subject to technical difficulties, and the second less so. I might have it right on the third week!

I'd be rather willing to accept suggestions for things to talk about from ya'll. I'm not going to show everything that's suggested, but this is a chance to possibly get the news out about a project or something.

Also, this thread is good for trawling for viewership. o u no

The show should air each Friday at 4:00 pm Central Time. I believe that is 10 pm GMT, but don't quote me on that.

Well, I'm on this plane, right? And... and there are these snakes... bah, it's all a little convoluted, never mind.

Actually, the Cleric from Hexen didn't have a bow, he had a mace. That's a sprite edit of the Cleric by... Eriance?

And the Cyborg is a Reaver from Strife. You got mixed up a bit, there.

Cutty says Choke was from a picture of a clay head that he hasn't been able to find since.

The fact that you took that at all seriously means that you probably needed that post anyway.

...Seriously! YES E1 IS EPISODE 1!

And just in case you don't know these, I'll list some more pro-tips:

ExMx = Episode X, Mission X (Where X is a variable. This is assuming that you've gotten past your multiplication tables yet)
DM = Death Match
TDM = Team Death Match
LMS = Last Man Standing
TLMS = Team Last Man Standing
CTF = Capture the Flag
ST = Skulltag
Skulltag != GVH
Doom = A popular first person shooter made by iD Software and released in 1993.
Doom 2 = The successor to the first Doom Game, released in 1994.

Also, shoot the Cyberdemon until it dies!

It should be a Finn. They're kind of like Viking Ninja race car drivers anyway.

Well actually, the Vikings wouldn't allow Finns (the Finnish) onto their boats, because they were considered capricious, and the Vikings believed that Finns COULD CONTROL THE WEATHER. Win.

You want me to include a "fashion sense" section on each of the character pages? :P

greenwar got a cacoward too, for best mp level.
Um... no it didn't. He JUST said that UDMX got a Cacoward. They both fall in the multiplayer category.

I dunno if I already suggested this, but Frostbite should freeze humans and monster Hexen-style with his frost breath.
I believe there was a problem in the past with frozen player corpses causing crashes upon shattering, thus the ice arrows don't freeze things.

In that case does GVH26 lag too? That one also uses lots of rain.
You'll have to remind me of which map GvH26 is. XD

Also, I believe that Sjas' scream can destroy the holly traps.

About the boat, I remember that one of Mik's ZDWars maps lagged like crazy until he removed the rain effect. I know that will dim the effect of the level, but that might be it, and it makes sense, since the level doesn't lag while inside. Mess with that, or find an alternative method of generating rain or something.

The boat map needs... something more. Also, it lags pretty badly while on deck.

The Aeons map needs those candelabras removed - they're just pointless clutter which screws the flow of the map. Also, it's generally an ugly map. The texturing is obnoxious.
