Here's an old classic.

We recently fixed a small error on Volt Man that's only visible when his arms aren't in the ground. I encourage folks re-download the file to fix that up. Of course, it's harmless and you don't really have to, but still.

Also take the time to admire the topic's new banner art, commemorating the release of our skins. In case you're wondering, I made it.

I can completely understand why folks are upset with this game, particularly those that backed it themselves. Still, I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the game, with the notable exception being the voice acting for certain characters (literally just Cryosphere). I think I still prefer playing as Beck, but Ray is still a pretty neat character.

To be honest, I'm not even sure bots will be able to pick up the weapon. I think the better question is, "How will the bots react while the player is invisible?"

That's not a bad idea, actually. Using altfire would just fire a single shot and not trigger flight, as though you were out of ammo.

Here's the latest version -- a hotfix of the last official version, simply removing Doom water and adding more diverse spawns. BE and TSPG will now allow it on their wad lists.

This is likely one of the last iterations of this layout before I start from scratch yet again. I'm aware of texture errors, but I don't particularly care.

After invading an impromptu Hotel server (that wasn't supposed to be public in the first place), I've come to realize that no matter what I do, it's just not going to vanish. A lot of folks like it, and, permission or not, folks are still going to make changes to it and share it with their pals. Rather than just let that go on, I figure the healthiest thing to do would be to pick the map back up. Rather than use this version, however, I would most likely remake the map entirely from scratch, using knowledge I have since picked up.

So the question I now pose is this: What about BBB&B do you enjoy? What could be improved? What could I include? Specifically, I want to know what folks think of the Robot Master-themed rooms, so I can decide whether or not to keep them. I want you to put your honest thoughts, grievances withstanding, out on the table, so that I might make the map better than ever.

Just bear in mind this isn't a guarantee. I'm juggling work, preparations for college, and DOS Reborn development among other things. If it were to happen, it would be in any free time I might have, and even then, I could very well burn myself out on it as I have done in the past.

Those are points I hadn't considered. Using Fr3akGamer as an example, as Stonefunk so insisted, let me help put it into perspective. He's extremely clingy to those he wants to get in good with (read: literally anyone on the DOS Reborn team), juvenile and petty in regards to those he dislikes (read: literally anyone in Tengu's chat), and on the whole, generally unsavory and toxic (largely in regards to his crude, tactless sense of humor). These traits are all pretty off-putting on their own, but collectively they're a complete dumpster fire. Why would anyone in their right mind make an active effort to "fix the problem" with someone like this when it's far less psychologically taxing to simply tune them out altogether? It just doesn't work that way.

I personally see Cold Man as one of King's robots. Sure, he's technically Light's, but it's awfully understated and sort of arbitrary.

Quote from: "Mendez"
I remember feeling just like Stonefunk. I talked with King Dumb about it, and here's what I took away from my conversation from KD:
And throw whatever assumptions you had about Skype chats out the window. I'm part of Freeman's chat and it's not like we're constantly conspiring to take down whoever we don't like. Keep filling in the blanks with your own lame assumptions, but it doesn't resolve anything.
This right here.

I'm part of Tengu's chat and, as far as I know, we haven't wronged anyone. We have better things to do than plot some grand scheme to stage a coup or whatever the hell is being suggested here. Quit displacing your frustration on us, damn it.

Here's a question I'm pretty sure nobody has asked yet.

With Skull Barrier's recent change, how will maps like MM3TOP be affected? Does it still have the ability to protect the player against spikes and lava to help players retrieve those coveted items, or are those maps being changed on account of its lack thereof?

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM v5 - Weapon Tuning (Leaf Shield)
« on: June 16, 2016, 04:35:19 PM »
I think Mana Leaves lends itself to the quick block idea pretty well. Since the projectile is fairly strong, you can absorb whatever damage is being done to you and then return it to the sender.

Though, the fatigue bar similar to Mirror Buster is not a bad take on it either. That should also be considered.

Do keep in mind that Skull Barrier is being changed as well. In what fashion, I do not recall, but even so, that has been confirmed.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM v5 - Weapon Tuning (Leaf Shield)
« on: June 16, 2016, 12:02:56 PM »
Perhaps I could better articulate it? I was a part of the discussion myself.

The idea behind this new Leaf Shield is comparable to the Mana Shield skills seen in other games, where it absorbs damage and drains MP rather than HP. While putting the shield up has little or no ammo cost, taking damage will deplete it. To prevent infinite use of the shield, ammo will also slowly drain over time. Players cannot pick up items while the shield is up, so to recover any lost health or ammo or pick up that oh-so-coveted weapon, the shield will have to be thrown away, which will most likely have a small ammo cost. Lastly, the shield will not protect the player against environmental hazards such as fire traps, count bombs, force beams, and crushers.

I can see a few uses for this weapon, the foremost being an escape tool in LMS or Duel. Since the projectile itself is also fairly strong, it would probably make an effective offensive tool if the need arose, such as in a Deathmatch setting.

The only thing I'm unsure of is whether or not the weapon's weaknesses (fire, blades, busters) will still be effective. I would think not, considering the weapon itself would be on the squishier side at this point.
