The Ghoul's Forest / Re: The Hunter: My thoughts on him in V2B5

Ok I'll take his teleport away and just make it a damaging attack like the other two (a single bolt of lightning infront of him maybe). Also reduce the fire spin and ice damage. Originally I just wanted his attacks to be slightly different when you hit altfire, I guess I got a bit overboard!

So much for the Thunder God Teleport.

Fire magic looks more suicidal than effective. You ever seen a moving creeper hit with it? All it manages to do is increase his speed, and the fire spin doesn't have a good radius on moving targets. The slightest damage is asking for a rape (jitters can't stand still long enough to hurt them, and more than likely sjas are out of range).

Ice spikes should last longer. All it manages to do is work in tight maps.

Give Hunters sith lightning.

I still see large imbalance teams with Ghouls leading 48t5789457894 to 4.

Pimp hat addon. Must happen. Make it so.

How about adding perspective to ghouls so it doesn't look like someone is facing you all the time. This would be great for humans so they aren't so reluctant to launch back attacks (on jitters, especially).

This is so awesome! I can be the second positive response you get in this thread (or third?).

I like the video, and it seems some work was given in spawning everyone properly. I was expecting a munching to go down somewhere, but none the less this was pretty decent.

I DEMAND A SERIES NO

To all the nay-sayers:

Ghoul vs Humans != Serious + Making sense

Can't be any worst than half the shit that goes on IN game to begin with.

I liked it. It was a little anti-climatic in the end. The party should have ended with all the humans dying.

The Ghoul's Forest / Re: YOUR ideas for Ghoul and Human classes
« on: October 21, 2009, 11:30:03 PM »
The jitter part I can see happening over and over and it will still be funny.

That is why I recommend the warrior's health be high enough to live through a scream. :x Cyborgs live through it sometimes and it's fine.

That boxing match would be something to see.

Chokes can give human classes a hard time and they need to face you to do damage. :x Warriors are the chokes of humans.

Don't call chokes ugly. It hurt his feelings.. and Jitter's.

What is it's name?

nerghuenbuernbkulehgoawegijnb43uognruovnlsfpoejfuwglhiheuywik

^ am i doing it right?

Class is Warrior or Berserker.. whatever you think fits the description.

What is it's story?

A warrior from a distant time in human history that battled the likes of ghouls. I don't feel like getting very creative about it. He could have been preserved or he is from the tribe as the hunter? Perhaps a man of modern day but he has an incredible amount of bravery?

What does it look like? (feel free to post sprites/images)

Use the Warrior class sprite from Heretic

How does it play? (physics, abilities)

First close quarter human that can actually tank. He will have a very good close quarter weapon like a mace or a sword (a club is better). He'll be as fast as a hunter but make noise like a marine (or something unique to him). He will have a bit of a higher jump compared to the other classes to go over crates. He'll have a secondary fire that he could either go stealth for a very short period of time, heal small wounds, or cast a barrier but he is then stationary while it is cast.. that sounds wasteful.

Give him enough health to survive a sjas scream with 30 percent of his health remaining.. maybe lower because of radius. I don't know. Make his attack power strong enough to scare a Jitter, which will be hard to do considering that a jitter can run lapse around any human anyway (but it would be funny to see him jump and slap a sjas down from nowhere). I guess a tiny bit of radius to his melee attack won't hurt if it can ward off Creepers or Chokes doing only direct assaults (make the radius really short). A direct hit can floor a creeper though (so it would be a, "who touched who first.").

Also make the attack a bit expedient but not spammable. Idk. Trial and error on that one.

What are it's weapons?

A club or that Heretic sword.

Why does it belong on GVH?

Why the hell does a Hunter belong in GvH? This warrior can either belong to the tribe, a rival of it, or a warrior from the time in which people warred against the ghoul forest. It would also be an interesting twist to have a close quarter human class. In open maps, I can see this class being only mediocre unless there is some platforms or ledges to jump onto. In small and confined maps, it can probably do a lot better with its melee and secondary fire.

It can definitely bring out the bravery in the human team if someone decides to give the range game a rest but not go ghoul to go melee.

Correct me if I am wrong, but strife+up+down is faster than Mouse look dodging.

GVH09: Ghouls start outside, Humans start at the complete opposite of the map indoors.

Is anyone else happy to read this?

Will such spawning alternate like before or will this be a permanent change (I know, stupid question)?

Also in Gvh11, will the ghouls be outside or inside? The importance behind this is that I have seen the outcome of a lot of battles solely depend on spawning in that map alone. Especially if a sole Jitter or Sjas is spawned outside with a butt-load of humans to feast/distract on.

Same for Gvh13. Humans starting in that cramp little place is jitter rape waiting to happen.

Gvh17 makes no real difference unless you intentionally spawn ghouls by the gibbs inside the plant itself.. and even then it will be pretty even (from my understanding).

I don't recall whether or not it actually worked on you precisely. I know it has worked a modest amount of times before like the Duke map or that factory map with the giant water area.

You should have been on last night then. The lag in the server was so horrible, I swore that everyone was teleporting. In my attempt to shark as a sjas, the screams were delayed by 3 seconds.

I promptly ragequit after being on for about an hour. >:[

To contribute:

Sharking is a term I came up to describe a sjas gliding on the ground to kill unsuspecting humans for good amount of time without fying up. This is a tactic that sjas players should utilize when the humans are distracted with other players or there is plenty of cover. You hold down Fly-down and you move about like you would a Choke. Do not engage cyborgs or hunters directly and in enclosed environment.

Best done in outdoor maps where there is a lot of corners or cover.

Now if the strategy is alrady named, then I apologize ;/

Not to be confused with the other type of sharking.. and if you know what that means, I certainly must ask, "how?"
