I've seen samples done by the 8FC group that show the possibility of a RM&F (MM&B) as well as Mega Man Powered Up

Was there ever an explanation why after 2.91 they decided to lock down the image files?

No problem

If anyone is interested in my mod, dubbed Kamen Rider Decade - Rockman no Sekai, click here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IU1855FX
It's titled with an OM because I actually have two versions. One with the original music from Rockman 7FC (OM), and one with new music that I put in from the series that corresponds with the mod. The music is pretty much wav quality, so the file size becomes HUGE, meaning longer download and longer time for the game to actually load up, even with changing the Process Priority to Real Time. If you want the new music, the bgm folder can be downloaded here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=36BL6HIA

This mod was originally started by TheToNg0 on YouTube, but he only went so far as to change Rockman and the Robot Masters and Blues. I changed a lot more enemies, Forte, Wily Castle bosses, text, colors, emblems, and sound effects, and of course the music. I have heard complaints that the charge sound effect is a little loud, though I personally don't have as much of a problem with it. If you guys download it, feel free to edit the file and turn the volume down.

Hey, new member, old modder of 7 FC. It's actually possible to use Photoshop. Using Photoshop will not break the files at all. If you are editing the actual files, it will keep the pallet and not screw them up. It's only if you try and save over the files with a new file where issues start showing up. I've also had it where I edited the map sprites of Wily Castle 1 and now the areas that are supposed to become dark and make platforms invisible no longer does so, and the platforms are permanently visible.

I would also say it's a lot easier to use Photoshop over MSPaint, as Photoshop allows you to recolor all of the same colors, allows you to select things more accurately, etc.

I have successfully used Photoshop without problems, minus the invisible platforms, for my Kamen Rider Decade mod.
