W.I.P Forum / The Mega Man Gameboy Map Pack!
« on: June 13, 2012, 01:09:35 AM »
Welcome one and all to the Game Boy map pack thread! It's a simple map pack where we take stuff from GB games and make them into maps!

Current maps we are doing are:
Gumballtoid: Enker
Shmeckie(Designer)/Knux(Builder): Punk
Blaze/Knux: Ballade
Shmeckie(Designer)/Blaze(Builder): Quint
Shmeckie(Designer)/HD(Builder): Wily Fortress
TBA: Wily Tank

Screenshots of what we've done so far to come; I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment, so I'll make this post short for now.

Enjoy!

Events / [MM8BDM] Father's Day Throwback LOCK PLEASE
« on: June 06, 2012, 11:31:47 PM »
Event Date: June 17
Event Time: See poll.

So, since fathers are people that go before you (great description I know) let's play some old fashioned MM8BDM: v1d to be exact!

Download link as it is on the Cutstuff blog: http://underground.bananachan.net/mm8bdm/MM8BDM-v1d.zip

(Don't worry, it isn't broken, I checked)

I hope you missed v1d DM, because this throwback will be played in Deathmatch!

Now, for this event, we'll be holding a poll to see what time is best for most people, because figuring it out based on my time (on a weekend anyway) to be completely unfair. So yeah.

Enjoy!

Events / [MM8BDM] Flag Fiasco
« on: June 03, 2012, 09:22:01 PM »
Event Date: Friday, June 22
Event Time: 5 PM-1 AM (EST)

(When and if the Event forum is created, it would be nice if if this topic were to be moved there. Just posting this so I don't forget and post it the day before.)

So anyway, welcome to the first Holiday Derpfest! (Best. Name. Ever.)

The 14th is Flag Day, so why don't we celebrate it with some super-fun 1 Flag Capture the Flag?

Because, y'know, America only has 1 flag.

Anyway, this will be a vanilla event you'll need the CTF Compo wads that can be downloaded from in this topic! Bring your friends and your friends' friends! You don't have to live in the US to participate in this event!

Have fun!

Cutstuff Discussion and Feedback / Should we have an Event forum?
« on: June 03, 2012, 01:24:29 AM »
Well, I pitched the idea of a forum where people could organize their events and keep it sperate from the clutter that is the MM8BDM Discussion forum to CutmanMike.

Rules would be simple, get someone to host your event, make a topic, get people to go to the event!

He told me to make a poll, so here we go!

I think it would be great, especially considering I have some summer events planned!

So, get voting!

DECORATE and ACS Modifications / Presenting: Improved Instagib!
« on: May 29, 2012, 11:51:19 PM »
Ever wanted to play something that is tons of fun, but almost certainly not worth your time? Have you ever wanted to be such a glass cannon, you died in ONE HIT?

Well then play this here, Improved Instagib!

It makes you take enough damage from EVERY form of damage to instantly kill you!

Note that this isn't compatible with mods that use new classes. New damagetypes don't matter though.

Download here: http://www.mediafire.com/?a2xs9cf6ce9tn1w

Oh yes, this is chaotic. And oh yes, it's FUN.

Indeeed this isn't a tournament; however, it will be important for future competitions.

Here's how it works; you sign up for it, and you battle other signed up players as many times as you want. Everyone starts out with 1000 points. Each time you win, you gain points. Each time you lose, you lose points. Tournament matches DO NOT COUNT towards this score. (The score is very complicated, so not going over how it's calculated right now, but for anyone that cares, I'm using the Elo system.) You'll want to get as many points as possible, because more points equals better seeds in future tournaments!

First of all, let's set down the rules for ladder matches:

Match Rules:

Match Style: 1v1
Number of stock lives: Three (3)

Additional Rules:
Rule set - Stock.
Timer - 8 Minutes.
Items set to Off and None.
Cannot play the same character more than once per Match.
Cannot play the same stage more than once per Match.
No custom stages.
All infinite moves must end before 300%.
Please have your "Gamer Tag" match your Cutstuff name as best as possible. (I.E. Human Destroyer = HD)

Sign Up Template:
Name:
Friend Code:
Time Zone:
Availability:
Contact Method(s) (Cutstuff PM is implied):

People that are part of the ladder:
Epic Kirby (1000)

So I thought we needed a break from Pokemon and Mega Man, and thought "Brawl". Yes it's old, but there's still some fun to be had.

RULES:
1. You're gonna need Wi-Fi and be able to use it to fight the other players in the tourney.
2. You may pick ONE character for use throughout the tourney. Once a character is picked, others may still pick that character.
3. All matches will be 1-on-1 unless otherwise noted.
4. This will be a double-elimination tourney. That means that you aren't completely eliminated unless you lost in the finals or you lost twice. (I.E. Loser Bracket)
5. Minimum players is 8, no maximum.
6. 3-stock, 8 minute matches will be played.
7. Items are off.
8. If the time runs out, the person with the most lives left wins, if both players have the same lives, person with the lowest percentage wins.
9. In case of a tie in Rule #8 or if both players lose their last life simultaneously, a 1-stock, 3-minute match will be played as tiebreaker.
10. All matches are best of 3 EXCEPT winner's finals, loser's finals, and championship match, which is best out of 5.
11. Meta Knight is banned. Sorry.
12. Don't be a dick and wait for the timelimit after one kill. I can't enforce this, but winning like this extremely cheap, don'tcha think?
13. If someone disconnects, they are considered to forfeit the game they were playing, NOT the whole match.
14. Each player picks a stage, then the last one is picked randomly. For the best of 5 matches, it goes player 1, 2, 1, 2, random.
15. Certain stages are banned:
75m
Big Blue (Melee)
Mushroomy Kingdom
New Pork City
Rumble Falls
WarioWare, Inc.
All Custom Stages

Anything Goes / Mafia Queue Redux
« on: April 28, 2012, 02:24:35 PM »
This is here to prevent more confusion about "who goes next in Mafia hosting".

Sign ups are done via post.

Last Updated 11/25/13

1. Korby
2. Beed28
3. King Dumb
4. <({[KS1]})>
5. LlamaHombre
6. Copy Robot
7. Waruigi
8. Dr. Freeman
9. Magnet Dood

A recommendation: wait 3-5 weeks after the previous mafia before starting yours; otherwise interest will wane VERY quickly.

General Gaming Discussion / The Pokemon Trading Card Forum League!
« on: April 14, 2012, 11:10:49 AM »
You guys may remember collecting Pokemon cards when you were younger. Well, we don't need printed cards to do our work for us!

Presenting the Pokemon TCFL!

Rules:
-You must choose a starting set below to begin fighting other Forum Trainers.
-When you start and once each day, you get 100 Pokedollars.
-You may perform as many of these actions:
-Fight a trainer. If you win, you get half their money and you get a booster pack that contains 10 random cards.
-Perform a trade. Unlike a win swap, both players must be willing to perform the trade.
-Go foraging into the wild. You may get lucky and find a great Pokemon for use, or you could get unlucky and find nothing. If you get a new Pokemon, it goes to your PC and you need to swap it with something in your deck before you can use it. (This has a cooldown of 2 hours)
-Purchase a Trainer Card. Each trainer card has its own cost, so use your money wisely!
-You are allowed 60 cards in your deck at a time. Any extra cards are stored in a PC with unlimited storage. The PC cannot hold Basic Energy Cards.
-Expansions can happen at any time. Expansions mean new cards and new starting sets! Current Expansion: Base Set
-For rules on how to play the TCG, please visit http://www.warpcore.org/~chairmankaga/p ... lebook.pdf or http://www.legendarypokemon.net/rules. The first link goes a lot more in depth, so if you just want the basic premise, go to the second link.
-However, note that whatever you do in a battle that cannot be seen by the other person must be PM'ed to me. Otherwise, battles are fought using posts.
-If you get cards that the other person cannot know about, I will PM you to give you your cards.

Available Starting Sets:

Overgrowth
Zap!
Brushfire
Blackout
Basic Fire/Fighting Deck
Power Reserve
Water Blast
BodyGuard
LockDown
Charmander and Friends (1st Deck)
Squirtle and Friends (1st Deck)
Bulbasaur and Friends (1st Deck)

Store:
(click to show/hide)

LlamaHombre (Blackout) (800 Poke)

I thought I would find an easy, fun way to learn ACS, and here it is. Simple premise, make copies of certain maps to give missions to them.

Here's how it works: Each day, I will post a random game and you guys can rate it. I will also give my own personal rating each time.

First Game!:
New Super Mario Bros Wii

My rating: 87%

A good game overall, the multiplayer was very chaotic and fun, although it could've used a bit more gameplay depth IMO.
