Granted, except that you can no longer regenerate as a measure to prevent tumors. Enjoy those everlasting wounds!

Rejected / [Suggestion] Boss health thing.
« on: April 04, 2017, 05:51:16 PM »
Okay, so when you face a boss in singleplayer, the health bar is indicated using an "item" that corresponds to boss health using scripts. The enemy health "fills up" by repeatedly giving the "item" until it's all full. My suggestion is, what about make an item that has a maximum of 28, and it disappears from inventory once the health is filled up? This makes the boss health bar appear smoother as it fills up, and you get a more universal thing for the "boss health filling up" part of the script! Kill two birds with one stone. This is a minor visual thing that not many will concern about, but still.

Uh, for context, like this:

Thanks in advance.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8bdm Player Profiles

Update time

In Game Name: I mostly go by Hilman170499
Prefered Skin: I usually use my user skin. Currently, I'm using version 3A of it, but any version works if you want to see me using it. Just a matter of preference...

Favourite Core Weapons: Ballade Cracker, Spread Drill, and of course, the ever-trusty Arrow Buster.
Favourite Custom Weapons: Cut+Fire, Bomb+Elec, Ice+Oil, heck, XOver Weapons is fun to experiment with in general! In other mods, I also enjoy using Circuit Breaker(expansion version) and Gravity Well from Ukiyama's Weapons. There's just so much fun options that I lose track, really.

Favourite Core Maps: Galaxy Man, Wily's Hideout 1(MM1), Needle Man, Fake Man.
Favourite Custom Maps: Geekie's Community Hotel, Crypt Man, Box Attic, Needle Man and Toad Man from MMSP.

Favourite Mods: Although outdated and controversial, I enjoy SHR++ for all it's worth. I look forward to seeing the revamped project. I also enjoy TEAM Sneaking, Rock Force, March of the Mets, 2nd Coop, Scone Quest and LMS Games. I also miss the days of Bot Apocalypse and XOver Weapons.

Favourite Class: The vanilla class, of course, then there's Magma(CBM) and Cave Johnson(SH; bosses there are technically morph classes).

Greatest Rival: None, for I am inferior to most. Who knows? I might run into one during my quest to improve my modding or spriting skills, or if a friend duels me and shows nigh-equal skill level.
Reputation: Annoying blue guy clad in a basin-shaped helmet, community punching bag(I lose duels a lot and I made a boss fight against myself), person of ridicule(not sure if it still applies today, though), member of underdog team Sapphire Fist for a 3v3 TLMS competition, on a quest to improve modding.
Biggest Contributions: Vampi-Air skin for Halloween(Uh, was it 2013, 2014, or 2015? I forgot), Tank Snail for CCCC2, Cold-Man-themed map section for the first Mapping Jam, Desert Factory for FTM2, submitted Reptile Man for the Mega Man 8 Expansion contest.

Other:
-BLUE FOR DAYS!!!
-I'll take modding requests if I'm bored and have plenty of time.
-Shout-outs to: CutmanMike, Zard1084, Meowstic, IamaMedalHunter, Molly, Kapus, Nemu, Geekie, Gummywormz, Smash the Echidna, Lego.
-Remember, everyone is awesome.
-I regret not playing expansion campaigns for the old MMPU and RNC mods.

Maps / Re: Hil's Geography Garage - NEW ORDER and beating up Hil

Update time!

So uh... Apparently, I can't map a good deathmatch level, so now here's something completely different.
To show you a taste of how much my coding has improved, here is a boss fight against me.

Unfortunately, my obsolete map is obsolete, and the link is dead.

Anyway, feedback on the battle and/or my coding skills is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Help & Editing / Re: How do "I" do THAT in Doom Builder?
« on: December 18, 2016, 07:01:16 AM »
Actually, no. In fact, I don't think the scripts need to be compiled anyway. Made maps without hitting that compile button, yet the scripts work perfectly fine, but that aside, it's kinda besides the point.

Hi there. So uh... I set up a LINEDEF that would play a sound via script, but nothing I do works.(No matter how I trigger the script, even using puke, nothing happens.) Anyone know a way to fix this?

Code: [Select]
script 11 (void)
{
LocalAmbientSound("sound/something",127);
Delay(50);
}

By the way, the sound is defined by SNDINFO. Thanks in advance.

Hello there. Um, this is a minor nitpick, but I have a suggestion:
You know how Roll is supposed to talk to you in CHAOSHUB? As we all know, it's invisible in Multiplayer. This is because the Log command is run by the server, making clients unable to see the message.
However, this can be rectified really easily. To make Log messages visible in a server, the Log command itself has to be run by a script type CLIENTSIDE.
Code: [Select]
Script <insert number> (arguments) CLIENTSIDEThat way, the command will be run by the client, making clients able to see the message. Thanks in advance for taking time to read this.

Help & Editing / Re: Questions regarding the "MugShot" feature.
« on: December 04, 2016, 06:45:16 PM »
Sorry for bumping this after more than a year, but I felt it's relevant to post this question here without making a new thread.(yay recycling!)

Anyway, if anyone has experience with this, may I please know how to make a mugshot that changes based on health? Like let's say, the mug changes at 25% health or so.
Thanks in advance.

Help & Editing / Um, that's not how it works, is it?
« on: December 04, 2016, 09:35:50 AM »
Okay, so I decided, since some sprite files I made are identical to others, it would be more efficient to define the replica sprites through TEXTURES. However, when I loaded it up, the sprites defined by TEXTURES appear to be invisible(keep in mind, outright invisible, not just displaced) in-game.

Here is an example for reference:
Code: [Select]
Sprite HILXE1, 13, 28 {Offset 6, 27  Patch HILXC1, 0, 0{Style Copy}}FYI, the width, height and offsets of the new sprites perfectly replicate that of the old ones, and the Style Copy block wasn't there initially(it made absolutely no difference either).

Can someone please help explain why the sprites appear invisible and/or how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

W.I.P Forum / Re: The Idea(s) Topic
« on: November 11, 2016, 04:58:36 PM »
I have an idea: A universal class mod frame.
You see, this game has a significant amount of mods featuring custom classes. It makes compatibility a bit tricky because you gotta make patches that fit the structure of the particular mods. Therefore, I present an idea for an omni-functional file from which the multiple class mods can inherit from to make compatibility and tweaks easier. It will include a base class and all the weapon/item replaces in the most rudimentary form. It can even be used as an easy starting point for young, new class mods out there! Of course, additional files are generally frowned upon, but I'd like to hear what you think.

Rejected / Re: (Suggestion) LMS time limit
« on: September 14, 2016, 12:31:27 AM »
Actually, making it a mod is a good idea, because like it or not, not everyone would enjoy a new LMS system that forces them to potentially change play styles(read: some like to play as ambushers).

Several days ago, I found out something interesting about Bass' profile.
He, along with his sidekick Treble, are named after clefs.

Then, after thinking about it thoroughly, I realised that the crest on Bass' head looks like sideways bass clefs stacked one on top of the other(without the dots, of course).

Yes, you can.
To do so, first, open the server filter and enable it. Then, in the WADs section, type in "megagame.wad"(The important wad for MM8BDM). Then, only servers with that wad will show up.

Thanks. As for the second row, they're firing frames, as well as the third. Basically, I gave it 2 firing frames now.

Edit: Oh, sorry to keep you hanging. Here is your skin, completed.
