MM8BDM Discussion / Re: State of the Servers

I'm just gonna say that I haven't been playing much of MM8BDM anything lately because of school. I'd imagine a lot of people have the same problem.

Quote from: "MusashiAA"
School my ass, I always see over 20 people playing SH, and over 20 Cutstuff people on Skype that aren't playing MM8BDM. Cutstuff just stopped playing the game because it doesn't want to play it anymore until the next version.

Of coruse, school can't contaminate every player, THROUGH it may be a reason for players to stop temporarily... I'm in that situation, I have no time to actually play MM8BDM, but I still follow the news (like the blessed Ivory posts on v4).

I noticed through, Saxton Hale is still not dead, on the contrary still blooming like always, with hundreds and hundreds of servers, and of people making modifications for it... but I know there's eventually Dr. Crasger's server, or for short, a Classes TLMS servers, which is still nice to look at, when people joined it. Considering famous people that have a giant postcount as "MM8BDM" core players, I tend to see one, or eventually two dev/core players. On occasion. I think the devs work a lot, without or rarely playing the game with casual players, online. The ones I saw the most were YD and Ukiyama, who randomly play the servers they like. (EDIT : yeah, like the ninja post two times above says). I think devs should either take a break from making, or take some more time to enjoy their creation :3 besides, you could even listen to the player's opinions !

Concerning servers other than SH and things with classes, the best nowadays is to make a game with your friends, because it won't be easy to resurrect a Vanilla, ScrewScramble, ?BOX, Ukiweps... server alone. Through feel the positive, Mission Mode and a new tendency that appears sometimes, Obstacle Course by Lobsters, are still servers people want to play in.
Do we need someone to post a new game mode to rebalance the things ? :3

Not bringing news from Keiji, but Capcom. And some kind of partner association.
Everyone knows what the Mega Man fans want : a board game, of course ! Isn't that obvious ?

Poor Mega Man is so Rush-ed by Capcom with musical albums and things in response to Mighty no.9  :|

In Game Name: Yellow Devil, I also play under SJones but I'm not myself when I use that name (so don't judge me for being an asshole, consider it roleplaying)

W-w-wwait ? You were actually SJones while all this time and I didn't know ? You join quite often servers with this name -if not always-, so I never knew you were YD. Oh well, now I'll remember. You're known as the Punk who only uses the main fire of weapon 1, and I was often irritated by what you were saying to my poor Gemini Man, who fight and don't even receive money for it. But if it's only .... ROLEPLAY, then...

I'm not sure such a narrow stage, is the best place to learn for newcomers. This level isn't nicknamed Rape cage #1 for nothing. I'd rather have proposed a large, flat layout for easy mobility, like in Centaur Man's stage. Besides, the stage right after Cut's, which is Guts', contains way harder layout, some advanced/technical weapons (Time Slow, Tornado Hold) and already involves items.

I came to ask if v4 will add new CTF stages.

Resources / Re: Resources Requesting thread!
« on: September 21, 2013, 10:48:13 AM »
This is my first request.
After Lego gave me the role for making Lightning Flash, Thunder Man's weapon from the fangame Rokko-chan (a FLASH fangame where the protagonist is a female Mega Man who must defeat a doctor with a big nose), I started finding gameplay ideas, but I have some trouble with its graphics. Since I'm the worst spriter on this planet, I need someone's help for making rotations to this electric projectile below :

Not the biggest amount of pixels to deal with, but I still can't do it myself. I'd appreciate help, and this would make me and the other Rokko-chan modders happy.

Simple updating before I'll slowly play less often, because school drowns me with stuff-to-do.
Ingame names : Stardust ; StardustRapeMachine
Favourite skins : Gemini, Ninja Spy (by FTX)
Fav classes : Gemini is da bezt, Tomahawk
Fav stages : Bright, Gravity, Spring v3b, Sword
Fav special weapons : Skull Barrier, Copy Vision, Gemini Laser, Silver Tomahawk ; hating pogo sticks and fat-ass attacks
Game modes : CTF and DM (with or without classes) is a yes ; Saxton Hale is a nooo buuuu
Rivals : Slash Men, anyone with a suspicious looking snake head, SJones, Blews
Reputation : I'm an eventual coder, a Gemini bro (or Toad/Hard bro if you read this, Zomo) and casual young french player. On occasion I'm Shyster's assistant for rebuilding the Wiki. Not especially useful to the community, but I enjoy playing online with other players.
Anything else ? : Put the cake in the oven for a while
Oh and Uki and Michael are the best friends in the world

Also LLama didn't you have fun playing Dark Man 1 lately ?

Aaaah. Not to worry, locking my mouth with a key and digging it, I'm not going to tell any information you don't want me to. Pinkie Pie promised.
Through since the screenshots now have talked, I can't say anything except that Dust and Junk aren't the only ones anymore that have a special graphic for their ammo bar.

I do think that getting rid of that single-player class-selection menu is a good idea. Really, there's no reason to have it there.
Or maybe just keep Megaman, Protoman, and Bass as selectable characters. (Maybe Roll, but IDK)

I don't think this will be possible. This screen is supposed to list all the classes, but since there are like +60 coded, it only shows the first ones.
Also, yeah, they're still working, not later than yesterday, I saw Musashi testing with Celebi on some kind of private server. One day ago, Musashi spoiled gameplay designs of the new classes, as well as rebalancement and new features for older classes, in GiantMega's hotel server.

Are you blind to the the big huge elevated platforms located by said pillars? You can jump to them.
Well, I'm not sure we're talking about the same platforms. And anyway, it's not like I can play the level now, so my eye can be troubled with the perspective. Take this very close peg hook to the player.
From how it's placed, I'd say the hook touches the floor, whereas it should be hooked mugh higher. Or even this Reggae picture in the corner, I couldn't tell if it's a HUD icon or a the weapon in the World.

A little late, but from the Magic Man screenshot, I guess/notice two things : the Thunder Claw seems to be recolorated in cyan colors (it makes it more "lightning"). And secondly, according to this map's structure, I think Magic Card does catch energy and health, because these health/weapon capsules seem to be placed on the top of taller pillars that don't seem to be accessible by normal jumping. Aside from that, I wonder how much gimmicks from the original stage were implanted. Between the skull lifts, the bouncy "midboss", the choochooes, and the ding-a-lings players, there's quite a lot to choose from. It's a large stage, isn't it.

Not sure my pure french accent will look like mad scientist or old wise man, so I'll just say here that you could eventually ask some help on Overclocked Remix. In a thread where their community did a remix battle based on Robot Masters' themes, some artists put voice clips in their remixes.

EDIT : It's my 100th post so let me do something great.
Like.... I have no idea....

Nah, honestly I don't mind their use. The prevention of the weapons' use in the expansion was a vain attempt to kickstart the expansion itself.

The use of them is fine. (In spite of what my topic says because I haven't updated that in eons...and I can't be bothered to do so.)
@Lego and/or @Magnet Dood : I could update and fix them for you, if you want me to. This should be done in a jiffy. Still considering Lego as the creator, of course.
I can't map at all, through.
