MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch v5b Music Code List
« on: June 10, 2017, 03:00:32 AM »
Huh, they changed that too? I tested it just now and well, I fixed that error of mine.
Thanks John, and please lemme know if you find any other mistakes on the list.

Fixed, again. Thanks for helpin' out Oliver. While at it, I went ahead and fixed the links to the Map Jam mods now that I'm back from that vacation of mine. Not all the songs have their proper titles, but hopefully that'll be fixed up in the near future once that's all figured out.

GUTSBOSS is a demake of Gutsman's theme from Megaman: The Power Battle, not just a remix.
I fixed it, as well as the mess created. Took longer to get to because of me being on a little vacation and fixing this from my phone.

Slight bump to the thread now that this list has been properly updated to include v5b music codes, as well as a good amount of fixes to the list. Huge thanks to NES Boy, CutmanMike, and a few others on the Discord server for helping out with this updated list.

I'm gonna post the new V5B tracks here:

Also, MM10FB1 and MM10FB2 have been removed from the game.

I didn't do the new CTF music (mainly because I don't recognise the songs except CTFMUS24, which is Stardust Speedway 'P' Mix from Sonic the Hedgehog CD, and CTFBOSS4, which is the Final Boss theme from Kirby's Adventure. I will, however, say that CTFMUS4 and CTFMUS19 have been replaced along with their associated maps.

I highly appreciate this, made it a lot easier for me. ..though I'm surprised GUTSBUTT was even a real music code.
Anyways, as much as I want to finish tonight (only missing the CTF boss music and those two tracks), I've got a pretty bad headache.
I'll update the list sometime tomorrow once I finish that last tidbit up, and bump the thread again once it's up.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Top and Bottom 5 Favorite V5A Vanilla Maps
« on: May 01, 2017, 09:09:30 PM »
I might as well share some opinions here, as well as my reasoning.
I do kinda feel bad about the list though, as most of my hated maps lie within v1.

BEST MAPS:

1. MM8DUO - Feeling quite biased about this map, but I love it to death. Not only is it a good map, but it provides benefits to exploring and playing around with the Mega Ball. Also, I applaud whoever came up with the idea to place the Rolling Cutter here. Cheers to the Saturn version of MM8!
2. MM8AST - This map is very accurate to the source material, and even fun to play on. It's just as strange and weird as the actual stage was, minus the puzzle segments.
3. MM7DW1 - To put it simply, I love this map. All the MM7 weapons are present, elements from some of the robot masters are put into play, and the music. Oooh the music..!
4. MM6CEN - I loved what was done with the water here. I don't have much else to say, design wise.
5. MMWTDW2 - This is a map I'd expect out of a "final level" when it comes to this game. I feel like I'm being tested of the mechanics of the game, as well as the weapons, playing through this map. And just like MM7DW1, I can't go without saying how awesome the music is here as well. I'm hoping we get something as great as this when MMV rolls around.

WORST MAPS:

1. MM2CRA -  I find the map to be very bland in design. Add in the issue of the constant use of yellowish wire textures hurting my eyes, and I find this the worst map in Vanilla.
2. MM4DUS - I liked the design of the map, and the theme it shares with the actual level. ..but while the crushers give a risk/reward factor, they're mostly against the player outside of Vanilla gamemodes. Also the pit around the back of the map bothers me just a little bit, I don't know why. It feels out of place compared to the rest of the map.
3. MM3SPA -  Imo the map is bland in design, and is likely the smallest map. It's nicer compared to MM2CRA, and it certainly feels accurate to the stage, despite the blandness.
4. MM6BLI - This map LOVES death a bit too much. Like MM4DUS, the ice pillars provide a risk/reward factor, but is a problem on other gamemodes besides the core game.
5. MM4PHA - While I enjoy the map's overall design, I feel it goes against the player a bit, especially outside the pyramid.

Granted. Unfortunately, it's so heavy and cumbersome that it can't go up hills. Additionally, its gas mileage is far too poor for it to be of any practical use.

I wish I had a bottomless cup of coffee.

Granted, but the cup now lacks a bottom due to stretching into the Earth's core (don't ask how the cup even managed to dig itself underground).

I wish for a dead link.

Granted! The potato is so normal, however, that it bends spacetime for some reason!

I wish that Team Kirby Clash Deluxe wasn't P2W.

Granted, but Team Kirby Clash Deluxe now has expensive DLC.

I wish for a real life replica of the Divine Rose Keyblade.

This sounds fun, might as well give it a go.

Granted: The fridge works again, alright- BUT AS A KILLER MACHINE THAT HAS A GIANT BLINKING WEAKPOINT!

I wish for 3 benevolent genies.

Granted: Those three genies only give one wish each, each wish taking the price of something that's dear to you.

I wish I had a Nintendo Switch. ..for obvious hype reasons.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch v5a Music Code List

A slight bump to the thread, with the addition of CTF along with Mapping Jams #1 and #3.
Oh, and Rock Force (although I already added that in like weeks ago).

I don't intend to go any further with the list until newer versions of the game comes out (such as the upcoming v5b). I'm also going to halt with mod or map pack related music codes for now, as I rather keep my focus on the core game (along with mods that are heavily supported by the community, such as the Mapping Jam packs or even Rock Force).

Huh, didn't actually notice this thread. Might as well give it a go then. (Though I'll slightly edit the original form since I have multiple favorites)
Also I'm using way too much color. help

Updated at September 6th, 2018 and good gosh why am I still updating this post from 2017 that not many people will read

Favorite Weapons: Search Snake, Pharaoh Shot, Slash Claw, Tornado Hold, Frost Wave, Ice Wall, Tengu Blade, and Magic Card.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch v5a Music Code List
« on: March 25, 2017, 03:02:01 AM »
Actually, 2DW2MUS doesn't exist, you wrote "BUSMUS" instead of "BRGMUS", and you're missing these music codes:

    MM3GO
    COSSVIC
    WTWIN
    D_STWIN
    10CASTLE
    PROMBOSS

..whoops. Expect a quick edit on Buster Rod G's code. I'll also be adding the rest of those codes. Again, whoops.

Another silly edit here, I forgot to remove 2DW2MUS as well. Went ahead and did so now.
Yet another silly edit, I tested MM3GO again and it actually DOES work. I might have done a typo a several times in a row. I dunno.
Also I'm *really* trying hard to find the source of CTFMUS19. I might have to ask the public 'bout it, unfortunately.

MM8BDM Discussion / Mega Man 8-Bit Deathmatch V6 Music Code List
« on: March 25, 2017, 12:57:23 AM »
Hey there, and welcome.
This thread contains a list of every music code in vanilla MM8BDM for those who wish to listen to a certain song when scoring frags or something like that.
As for how to use said music codes, use the "changemus" command through the console! Just uh.. don't go too crazy with it.

The thread will be updated as new versions of the game release, but only after a certain amount of time to avoid spoilers. Well, assuming this isn't the last major update anyway.
While I previously had fan-made expansions and map packs as part of the list, I won't be including those here as this thread is focused on the base game.

Despite the research, I'm sure there are plenty of errors littered all across the list. If you come across any, please let me know and I'll look into it.
Expect plenty of spoiler usage as well. Aside from making it (hopefully) easier to navigate, this list does contain spoilers for the single-player campaign. You've been warned!

Might as well keep this train rolling.

Currently my picture is supposed to display "Snivy" from the Pokemon series.
