MM8BDM Discussion / Re: A quick question
« on: May 21, 2013, 10:40:42 PM »
If we're on the topic, can I ask where the music is from? It certainly isn't from any of the official games that I've heard of, and I really enjoy it. Would it happen to be an original composition?

Will someone tell me why MM7DW1 sometimes turns into an escher painting?

The results are hilarious and somewhat useful for spying though.

MM8BDM Discussion / Time Man and Oil Man's BGM
« on: May 05, 2013, 12:20:39 AM »
Well, I've gotten around to editing Time Man and Oil Man's maps on the wiki, and I need links to the specific background music in their stages for the information table. None of the remixes on YouTube seem to be the exact variation in the game, so could someone who knows their origins give me a link?

Unyuu~, I try my hand at writing articles occasionally (it's-a-me behind the redaction of all the MM7/MM8 weapons, or at least before you fixed them).
I prefer to call that standardizing them. Gotta appear professional after all.

Anyway, you've described my layout perfectly, which is what I eventually want for all the stages. And yes, I am a little worried about the layout sections being too wordy. But hey, you've got to describe the stage somehow. Besides, there are often little niches and hiding spots that this section can detail. Hopefully others will come along and cut them down to size eventually though.

I honestly prefer working on weapons, but someone's got to do the maps, right? I certainly don't mind, they're both pretty fun to write out.

Well, it's finally time to begin revamping the map pages. It looks like Alice has set up most of them, leaving the writing to me.
I've finished with Cut Man's Stage, and I want get some input on whether it will be a good template for the rest of the stages.
If so, I'll move forward with standardizing the stock maps of the game, then the CTF maps, and then move on to the custom maps, which will certainly keep me busy for a while!

Anyway, go check out the standard!

Dagnabbit People

Being relatively new here, I think I can safely say that I have no prior bias of community members, and I think Rtist has to be one of the more friendly "elite" players. Sure his keybinds are pretty narcissistic, but how can you be annoyed when he is sarcastic half the time with them and has the skill to back them up? Sure he's raged a few times, but haven't we all? I don't see any justification for denying someone the right to play based off of a few random caustic remarks that we all forget about after five minutes.

Sorry if I'm interfering in matters I don't understand, but I just hate for people to be punished for doing well.

Noise Crush can be charged by shooting it straight down? That'd better be fixable....

On the topic of ''Scrubs" and "Pros", all I think you can ever do in a multiplayer game is controls yourself. You want to use "skillfull" moves and unique attack styles? Fine, if that makes you happy, but don't be whining if they can't stand up to better strategies. However, that shouldn't mean you should always try to optimize your strategy with moves that you hate using. Sometimes it's fun to play how you want and ignore winning and losing.

Beats me, I see people online at just about any time except for late at night. I'm on Pacific time myself.

Might as well make this official.

Wiki Name: ShysterMkX

Position: Dedicated contributor guy thing person... I just want to write, eh?

Efficiency: Better than most. Wiki editing is more fun than it seems, and I'll be sure to work on it a little almost every day.

Dedication: I feel the need to be consistent and hardworking, qualities rather rare on the internet, in order to gain same notoriety around here. Thus, I don't think I'll just bail anytime soon.

Why I deserve to help the wiki: I have absolutely no wiki writing experience, but I'm a good expository writer in general and I pay immaculate attention to detail. If the article isn't absolutely perfect, I won't publish it.

The Wiki seems to be updated quite often, however, I think we should change the background to something that will fit a Megaman related Wiki

And yes, I would agree the wiki needs some better aesthetics to be taken seriously.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: New Takes on Existing Weapons

Silver Tomahawk: Fires an arcing, gravity-affected axe, much like the castlevania subweapon

Yamato Spear- Fires three piercing spearheads in a classic forward and forward diagonal spread.

Knight Crush: Hold down fire to swing the mace ball around you. It works as a melee weapon and blocks shots. Hold a direction to make it swing out more in that direction.

Centaur Flash: Reverses the trajectory of all on screen projectiles and makes them damage enemies. Also repels anything close to you.

Wind Storm: Fire to launch a small tornado straight ahead, fire again to make it expand the vertical height of the screen. Continuous damage.

Flame Blast: Hold down fire to create two rows of flame pillars on either side of you that crawl up walls. Dies out when you release fire. High damaging.

Blizzard Attack. Creates four snowflakes around you that move in a straight, wall penetrating trajectory towards targets. Weak in power.

Plant Barrier: Nullifies the next hit you take and restores its amount of damage to you in health. Basically battle network leaf shield. Uses energy continuously while up.

For explosive and splitting weapons, especially flash bomb and thunder strike, it's a good idea to aim slightly down so the weapon splitsexplodes near your opponent. Hope that's not too obvious.

Golden rule? never move or shoot in a straight line.

Help & Editing / Re: Changing the BGM
« on: March 29, 2013, 01:31:22 AM »
Changemus works for the robot master stages, but what about wily stages and boss music?
Someone should really make a comprehensive list of codes....

And how do people change the music for the entire server? is that an admin thing?

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Who's your favourite Robot Master and why?
« on: March 28, 2013, 04:15:45 AM »
Freeze Man would have to be my favorite. Slick, stylish design and one of the best looking fights in the Mega Man series. His weapon is meh, it had a lot of potential though. That and his stage theme is pretty good.

If we're going to talk about mavericks too, I'm going with Metal Shark Player (Prayer?) for a badass design, cool looking weapon and awesome resurrection powers. Callbacks to earlier games in the series are always awesome!.

BTW,

Reploids = Mavericks

To me, my term of Mavericks is a MMX/Zero boss.
Classic: Robot Masters
X: Mavericks
Zero: Mutos Reploids
ZX: Pseudoroids

Help & Editing / Changing the BGM

So, I've experienced some crazy shenanigans on servers where people somehow change the music, and I want in on it. It has something to do with the command playmus or changemus, but I'm not exactly sure where to enter it. I also know none of the codes for the various musics.

So, what's the advice for a beginning server DJ?
