General Gaming Discussion / Re: Favorite Gaming Console? (Revival)
« on: July 05, 2014, 07:12:45 PM »
Oh my goodness, I don't think I can pick. My favourite systems are the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1 and Xbox. That's too many favourites. It is mostly because I never want to take off my rose-tinted goggles of +1 nostalgia and these are the systems I grew up with.

Alright, I'll go with the NES. It was my first gaming console, I started playing it when I was only three years old.

They haven't shown everything there yet. There's still more palettes and alternate costumes in the works. Just recently they showed an alt.costume of Little Mac in the pink training sweats.

More duels need to be recorded :)
You made some mistakes but you held your own against a really tough opponent. Good watch.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Neutral+B is his Metal Blade. The weapon variations should be cool no matter what, though. I can see Leaf Shield being swapped out with Star Crash, Junk Shield etc. Crash Bomb could maybe be replaced with Dust Crusher or Freeze Cracker.
Don't know what they're going to do with Rush Coil, that would be uh...I don't know, Rush Jet?
Either way, I'm excited to see what they'll be.

Yeah, I think it would have a pretty low cooldown but you could probably move after you launched the pod. Heck, if the rain could also push down players (just a tiny bit) it could be used for some really neat combo setups, too. I'd consider it a Down+B move.
Anyway, it doesn't have to be Rain Flush specifically, I just think the team missed out on a chance to really diversify Mega's moveset (for custom games).

What? A big, obvious pod rises into the air and spreads low damage rain everywhere. I picture it being easy to dodge.

Hm, a lot of people seem really concerned about the miis. I honestly don't see what's so bad about them.

1. They can't be played With Anyone but can still be played With Friends or on your local system.
2. The fact that they vary in speed and size shouldn't be a problem, either. Large miis will be harder to knock away and have more reach and power but will be slower, have a larger hitbox and probably can't jump as high. The small miis are just the opposite; they will be harder to hit, faster and can jump high but will be really easy to knock away, have lower reach and probably pretty damn floaty. It's just speculation but it makes a lot of sense to me.
3. I'm pretty sure you can't customize every single move, it sounds like it's just the specials. There's enough combinations to keep things interesting but a pool of twelve moves isn't too difficult to learn how to fight against.

I will say this, though, just a small thing that irks me. Why is it that Palutena gets the same treatment as the miis in regards to having a more unique move pool? It seems weird that Mega Man doesn't get something like that. As far as we know his movepool is the same as everyone else's, just small changes to each existing move. I guess most of his weapons are similar, just basic projectiles that do different things...but he's got some wilder stuff in there, like Rain Flush, for example.

The Wii U is a good console and it's got some really great titles on the way. It may have started slow but you can really get your money's worth.

It's undoubtedly the Canadian Lynx. When I was around eight or nine I was walking around the back trails of my grandparent's place, it was a wide trail that kinda' served as a place to drive around in ATVs or Snowmobiles but I liked walking through the path, too. The path got kinda' neglected after a while and had abandoned things like a chicken coop and old cars and buggies.
So one day I'm walking along that path like I often do and only about twenty-five feet or so ahead of me, out comes this big ol' lynx. It walks out into the center of the path, stops, stares at me. I just stare back. Lynx determined I was not a threat and then walked into the bush on the other side. Gone as quickly and silently as it came.

From there on I learned about the animal. It's supposed to be very rare to see one, especially that close. I also learned that my area is at the border of their habitat, another reason it would've been unlikely to encounter it. They also don't sink in the snow, have awesome pointy ears and are notoriously difficult to trap. Very cool animal, they're like the elves of the big cat world.

Being such a badass, stealthy and noble animal how could I not call that my spirit animal?

Oh, uh, I'm not really a pro or anything but try to have a reference sprite. I usually just put a little megaman on the spritesheet and make my sprite beside it, to get a good idea of the height and body position, etc.
Artists should always work with references. :P

I am so done trying to figure them out. The way I see it, there's lots of room in the roster and things are probably closer to reason "C" for the cuts. It looks to me like they really are trying to fit everything and everyone in as best as they can manage.

The real way it probably works? Just believe. If you believe hard enough, your character will make it in. Beliiieve.

Looks like a great map, though! Lots of detailed textures.
