Well..Sonic had a new game, right? In he goes. MGS5 is a thing, so...

Also, I wanted to say something profound over the Sonic in Smash 4 thing but...I can't. I'm shocked. Happy, yes, though definitely shocked.

Well, I sent him an updated version of my class...but that was about a week ago, I think? Still haven't heard from him about it.

Man i've never seen so much praise for this game. Most of the things in game were never explained especially combat wise. I did play some tournament mode back in the day though. Still i rented it more than once so in a way i "liked" it.

I don't think you'll ever see this much praise for that game anywhere else, lol. I agree, the game's advanced mode was a little hard to figure out at first but it also had the simple mode that resembled standard tournament fighters a little more. There was also that option to play the boss fights RPG style. I remember the game being blindingly hard for me at first but I just powered through and mastered it.

I suggest you revisit it sometime, especially if you like beat 'em up/fighters, it's definitely one of those hidden gems :)

Ultimate Fighter?

Yes. Freakin' YES! I used to play the tournament mode for hours with some of my friends, hell I even played that game for hours by myself. Wonderful story mode, a really unique counter and critical system, just a really out-there and great game.

The story mode was more of a beat 'em up with tournament fighter sections for the bosses. Oh and transformations complete with laser swords so you could fight against the power rangers from hell.

Good times.

Mighty Number 86. :P

I have absolutely nothing to add to this except it looks awesome. I sympathize with Inafune and I think this is something good for everyone, both the developers and the fans. I also like that "Beck and Call" are still musical references but could also imply some level of servitude, such as with robots. +1 Saw What You Did Thar.

2015 is so far away, though..

Isn't it kinda' silly that Megaman has to buy things anyway? I mean, Dr. Light should really give him those upgrades for free...he is kinda'...saving the world and everything. I mean, Beat won't even bail him out of a pit unless he turns over the screws. Corrupt robotic birds. *spits*

I voted against stores because I personally feel that grinding for currency just isn't all that fun. When I play a Megaman game I want to keep moving and I only grind when I need health and energy for a boss. I don't like being held back on account of not having the right amount of items or upgrades to clear a level.

I love your class idea, Alice, I'm curious what the devs will think about that one. For the most part I agree, simple is best. Way to keep your class...classy. :P

I would suggest only a few things. Names and obituaries for your beam weapons and a decent damagetype, perhaps a light or laser one like Gemini, or Needle...or both. Pretty sure dual damagetype weps are a thing. I know you didn't want any strengths or weaknesses but if you give her a simple handful of damagetypes, resistances and weaknesses (maybe just one or two of each) it'll keep the class from being overused and add a bit of depth to the class in my opinion.

I don't have a hard time imagining this class in action at all. I hope it makes the cut.

Oh, hey, what if that 'Super Punch' worked as you said but for an alt it knocks them flying upward? For the second weapon slot, you could give him a 180 turnaround move that could be used to trick people or hit the guy chasing after you. Instead of the 'Rocket Super Punch', just have the normal 'Super Punch' always propel your character forward a bit then just have it so you could use it on ground or in the air.

As for that damage type. Why not the same as Hard Knuckle/Charge Kick/Top Spin? You know, melee attacks. You dig?

I'd personally hate to see that class removed, it's one of my favourites.

Why not...

...give it a wall-jump? Changing the dash would be good too, to make it more unique. (My class also has a dash similar to yours, though originally we were trying for a head-stomp). Perhaps the dash could have projectile repulsion, be a ground stomp, a zipping double-dash or something groovy like that.

Those are my thoughts, feel free to them. :P

edit: slow lemon is slow.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Mega Man for Smash Bros. Topic

Oh man, Dig-Dug would be an interesting addition. Pumping players full of air and watching them float away!

They might keep the old guest characters, Stonefunk but it seems really unlikely. Most fighting games that feature guest characters only do so for a single installment. However, Smash isn't like most fighting games and they might do something different. It's hard to say.

What's more likely is they'll keep the two guest slots, one is already Megaman and the other is- pft, I don't know. I would've said a Namco character but hearing that they're not getting any special treatment makes me kinda' wonder. It could be anyone.

I'm willing to bet it won't be a Konami or Sega character, either.

Approaches the door, admiring its ornate design, just studying it for a while.

"Hmm..."

Produces a small lemon from his jacket pocket, possibly combustible but most likely sour. It blinks at him.

"Uhhm,"

Throws the lemon at the door.

Well, I keep seeing them all fighting in a boxing ring... :P

I also saw the Villager wielding a pair of boxing gloves, presumably an item. It's not much to go on but I think the odds are pretty good. I'm also wondering what Namco-Bandai characters we'll see too, there's definitely some potential for awesomosity there as well. (Kalas...Yoshimitsu...Lloyd Irving?)

Anyway, this is about Megaman, who I may use as much as I use Marth from now on. I've been waiting to see him join the game since the first Smash Bros! :D
