Oh my god...Metal Black! Q.Q
That game was amazing. I came across that game fairly late only about four or five years ago. Loved every second of it.
Today I busted out the old Sega Saturn. It was the first fully 3D gaming console I ever got to play with (until I got the N64 sometime later) and it just blew my mind back in the day. My cousin and I would always play it and we have some very fond memories of that system.
There was Dragon Force, first of all. That was a really unique game and I still see no game like it today. It was a Strategy/RPG where you moved armies to enemy strongholds like a standard strategy game but when the battles started all your troops would be lined up with a general on each side. Your general behaved like an RPG character, with spells, special attacks and an active-time battle gauge, all the while giving orders to your troops to counter the enemy strategy. Man, it was so cool. It had an incredibly deep story, too and you could play as any of the 8 lords for 8 totally different campaigns. The music was gorgeous. You could also enlist the generals you captured and add them to your army, some only being triggered by secret events...and just, I could gush on about it forever.
Some other great games we had growing up with that system were; NiGHTS into Dreams, Cyber Speedway, Iron Storm and Sega Rally Championship ("Game Over, yeaaahhhh!"). Ah, great times
