Well ... nobody knows. Really.
See, there are so many reasons why a bluescreen might appear. I personally can not help you with that.
Whenever a bluescreen happens some cryptic information gets displayed and a few logfiles get created. It is possible to find out what triggered it by basically knowing what they mean ... which I do not.

Also: Heat could be one reason why. Or recent updates. If you updated drivers recently, that might just be why. Also try placing your laptop somewhere else.

Not really. My old Fujitsu laptop (which ran WinXP SP3) had bluescreens when shutting down sometimes.
Just check if all important files are still there and didn't get lost, maybe try to observe the temperature and read the s.m.a.r.t. values of your harddrive if you want to be extra-cautious. My first own PC (it ran win98SE) bluescreened so very often but nothing ever really happened. And the Pc of my grandparents (it runs win7) often Bluescreens after resuming from standby mode. Basically bluescreens are nothing too worrysome, really.
Also if you dont like them, get a mac or switch to linux =P
