Uhh... why can I hear quiet little voices on my laptop now?

I turn off my sound and they go away, but when I turn my sound back on, they come back.

Am I being haunted?!

EDIT: Yep, they are definitely quiet little voices, as they get louder by turning the volume up. I put on a Honest Game Trailer video on, and the narrator's voice is at a normal level.

EDIT 2: The only pages open at the time of this post is a Kotaku article, this forum, and a Shovel Knight playthrough by Shinryuu82 (who uses annotations rather than vocal commentary). Doesn't explain where the quiet voices are coming from.

Why don't you just close programs and tabs until they go away?

Your problem solving capablities should be good enough for using a systematic approach.

Oh and ... if you use Win7 or 8 you can also look at the volume mixer to see which programs cause audio output. Just saying.

I assume you never typed "virus scanner" into the software center's search box.

By today's objective standards, anything before the N64/Playstation era (excluding DOS games PC master race) was bad sans for a select few games on the SNES so people should really stop trying to go back to it

Well I guess today's objective standards are a piece of crap.

(Sure, it does specify that there are a select few SNES games aren't bad, but then those ones could not be these ones, considering how most gamers I really disagree with happen to be those PC FPS nuts)

You do realize that OJ was being sarcastic, right?

And, wait, what? PC/DOS being always superior to the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, etc.? Really? Are you sure about that?

And wait, your consoles always being superior to the PC/DOS? Are you sure about that?
P.S. There were some really good action platforming games for DOS, like the Jazz Jackrabbit series.

I hate that "PC Master Race" kind of attitude. I can think of tons of console games that are amazing, but people with that attitude would never even go near them just because they can't stick 'em all on a USB.
Heck, I even hate that attitude when applied to NON PC gaming platforms. One dude at that convention I was at commented on the fact that both he and I had our 3DSs out by saying "Master Race", which bothered me just as much.

Why can't everybody just get along?

I am not fond of the elitist nintendoism some users here tend to exhibit but I don't complain about it.

If Skype Mobile is beyond saving at this point, then sure. But me? I believe Skype Mobile has always been a hellspawn app from the very start.

Skype mobile has been and always will be trash.

He speaks the truth, listen to him and stay away from it as much as you can! Save Yourself!

IMO, iOS Skype 5.2 is kind of acceptable. It isn't worse than Satan like 4.x and not a significant downgrade compared to 4.x like 5.0 and 5.1. Still not anywhere as good as Windows Desktop or even Linux Skype, though, but kind of sort of usable most of the time.
