Anything Goes / where the God Damn Heck has Brotoad been?

Hello everyone, it's me, your lovable neighbourhood Brotoad!

It has been an extremely long time since I have posted here, so I figured I'd drop by and let everyone know where I am and what I've been doing!

First off, game development has been going extremely smoothly! My development team at Suntoad Games (we're also on Facebook and Twitter) have been making a lot of progress on our game Star Captain for PC and Wii U, and we're working to release a playable demo of the game by the end of the year!

Knowing that my ambitions in life are completely within the realm of possibility right now is one of the greatest feelings ever, I encourage everyone to work hard and accomplish everything you can!

I have come out as a transgender girl not long ago, so I'd appreciate it a lot if you can start using she pronouns for me!

If you'd like to follow my presence, I am very active on Tumblr, sometimes active on DeviantART, and almost never active on Twitter! (I sometimes upload pure garbage to Youtube too!)

I will always look back fondly on my experience working on Megaman 8-Bit Deathmatch, I learned a lot about the process of game development and improved greatly as an artist!

If you're fresh meat here and you're wondering who the heck I am, I'm the cutest and most powerful game developer on the earth, I used to make graphics for this game and you should get invested in my Web Brand™.

I made the whale in the Dive Man stage, and also the playable skins of these guys!

Anything Goes / R.I.P. Edd Gould 1988-2012

As I am sure many of you have already heard, Edd Gould, creator of the Eddsworld series, died on the 25th of March after a 6 year long battle with cancer.
Hearing this was such a shock to me and many others, he was one of the first flash animators I ever saw and was a big inspiration to me during my early internet years.

It's such a shame to lose someone so talented and funny, and while I am certain he had a great life, it feels like he had so much living left to do, he was only 23 years old, but he acomplished so much and left such a big impact, He will almost certainly be remembered by millions worldwide.

ones upon a time megaman defeated the manacing of dr doctor wily
but then SUDDENTLY a happening occured

millions of buildings in a "city" explode and 100 billion people are killed by robots

docotor light saying to megaman: megaman there are robots every house but you must not go iy is to dangeaerous for you to go"

but then megaman runs out of the out of the door "":"father i must go if not people all over the earth will be dead and i cannot let that happen so i must go!"'

so domcter light says "be carful megaman i don't want tro loose to....my son"

megaman runs out of the door but suddenly a new robot comes up

megaman i am the greatest robot and if you don't believe me ill show the world

megaman: who are u???? say ur name are you're you are create by wily?

no i am creat by the new "science dr!" he made all the new killer robots

(authors note the mysterious robot is actually me in the story i wanted to be ther)

so megaman beats the new 8 robot masters
tankman (some assholeHO:L on youtube STOLL MY IDEA so i yelld him and he blocks me what a PUSSY)

and it turns out the new science dr was a robot dr made by doctor wily who made a robot dr to disguise his real plans

megaman you were' fooled it was me dr wily all along and i was the one who made the robot dr to disguise my real plans while you battled the robot dr thst i made to distract you!

NOoooooooooo:::oo megaman said and he sbot his gun at dr wily

but then the mysterious robot from befo4 apears to shoot to kill dr wilys robots

megaman you canoyt do this one on your own i am hear to team up with you and save the dayfrom dr wily by teaming up with you to save the day ffrom the evil

but it turns out dr wily was had a giant space canon to destroy the earth with a laser cannon in space

megaman and mytsteryois robot go to space but it too late wily already press the doomsday button that will destoy the whole earth

so myster robt dives in the way of the laster and says megaman i will sacirfice myself to save the worl u go and take dr wily

and then he died

megaman cries a single ter down his face but no time for crying he has to save the earth

so he does

and it turns out mysteryoius robot didn't really die because i'm actually incinveble




and then zero woke up

the end??

Some of you may have already seen this, I've shown it to a few people and if you follow me on DeviantART you might have seen it already!

Anyway, this is a game i'm making, it's the story of a mining robot named Dex who at first has a fairly relaxed life, until the plans of a mysterious organisation known as proxy start to unfold.



Character info

Dex is the main character, he's a mining robot with a laid back personality, but when Proxies plans threaten his village, he has to MAN UP.

Skorch is a welding robot, and has been Dex's best friend ever since they were young. He is Impatient and gets spooked very easily

Golem is a large digging robot who comes from a snowy country up north. (robot planet equivilent of russia) He hates fighting and tries to find a peaceful route to any situation, however when something is a threat to his friends he will take arms against it to protect his buddies at any cost. He is a bit of a slow thinker but he is definatly not stupid.

Tesla is a young female robot who you meet in a town built on the side of a mountain, she is extremely intelligent but she is also very shy.

Shank and Blammo are two criminal robots who you encounter in a dark city notorious for it's high crime levels. Shank was jailed for stabbing people, and Blammo was committed to an asylum, as people think he is insane. It seems like he talks to himself, however he was made form the parts of a recycled robot who carries on living within him.

Melissa, Klez, Conficker and Sircam are some of the primary members of Proxy. Melissa is a mantis like robot who brainwashes people into joining proxy. Klez is a deceptive robot who also is the doctor for proxy. Conficker is a worm like robot who is proxies head of technology. Sircam is the Commander, but he is not the leader.

Einhander is a robot shrouded in mystery, who is he? Is he with Proxy? Whoever he is, he clearly wants Dex out of the way.

Osesvs is a mechanical being who created the world the characters live on. He resides in the centre of the planet.

Many of the characters here are just NPCs. See, i want every NPC in the game to be completely unique!

Gameplay

The game will play out like a somewhat typical metroidvania. The levels are all connected, similar to metroid, rather than separate levels like most platformers. Aiming will be done with the mouse, giving you more accuracy.
You'll be able to switch between any character who is currently in your party, each one having their own special abilities and combat skills.
I'm thinking that the characters will all share one healthbar, but each character that joins will add more health to the total.

This guy here is Hammy, he is the first midboss of the game. He was built for the mundane task of stomping nails into place, but Confickers radio tower causes him and other less advanced droids to become agressive

I'm not currently looking for any help but if you have any ideas feel free to share them!

I'm planning on releasing a demo once the first mission is completed, to hopefully get people excited for the full game! It will be completely free, don't worry, though i will add a donate button if you want to support!
I'm not doing this for the money, I'm doing it because I want to make a game and tell a story!
