General Gaming Discussion / Re: The Wii U thread

Honestly, I've seen some footage of Nintendo Land off Game Grumps, and I must say it rekindled something inside of me I haven't felt in a while.

I remember the times of old where I'd be so excited opening that Wii box on Christmas day, and bundling around with my family, being in absolute awe of the new technology and the brand new way to enjoy things just from Wii Sports alone. I remember that first time I played Luigi's Mansion with my dad, in awe at the complexity of this new system and could only imagine how it'd get better.

With the semi-mediocrity of 3DS releases, I've sort of forgotten such a feeling exists. Being able to have fun and share your enjoyment with others is what video games were designed for. The new tablet feels like a new link into a new era of gaming, and it reminds me of that wondrous Christmas day in 2006 when I was still capable of feeling such fun and innocence.

Not to mention, supposed Gamecube games on the Virtual Console? I'm in.

And thats exactly what it feels like, too.

When I got it, I spent a good long time staring at that shiny new controller... and playing it with my cousins was so much fantastic fun.

I can understand people not wanting it that bad for various reasons. I mostly got it because I like all of Nintendo's franchises, so I can't wait for more.

@geno: Unfortunately, you cannot put adjectives on the Nintendo words from what I've heard. I haven't actually tried it, though.

@colonel: Yes it is. You can start with a base object and edit it as you like to add new words to the dictionary.

Got one recently. It was a FANTASTIC way to entertain guests for Thanksgiving weekend.

I have Nintendoland, NSMBU, Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed, and Scribblenauts Unlimited. Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed is a blast with 5 people, and NSMBU's boost mode was actually very interesting and really fun for not only the players, but the boost mode controller as well. Of course, Nintendoland used the controller in some interesting and cool ways that kept it fresh, but after playing the same minigames a billion times, it does get old. Still, it really showed some of the handy features that the controller can give, and it was really fun.

Oh, I played this! Another game I've been trying to remember the name of for ages.

Also, Pac-man 2. I remember playing that once a looooong time ago.

did someone say obscure

(click to show/hide)

YES. I read an article on this game once, and I couldn't remember the title, but I've wanted to try it! Now I know! Huzzah!

These aren't ridiculously obscure, but they certainly ain't no AAA titles.

Barely remember these:

Anything Goes / Are there any good, free video recording softwares?
« on: October 01, 2012, 09:37:40 PM »
Seriously. I need to know what I can use to record vids of me playing games on my PC. Specifically for mod recording purposes. Anyone know anything good?

Commander keen 4: Using every save slot in a different part of the game so it feels like there are many "keens" conquering different places.
Also Screwing around with the pogo stick. Good times.

That reminds me, I tried to use every save slot on all my memory cards to be able to replay my favorite parts in Paper Mario: TTYD. It was kind of pointless though, because I couldn't even figure out which file was which. There was no way to differentiate.

The other day I did what may have been the stupidest thing ever.

Me and my brother were playing Borderlands 2, and I nabbed a sidequest to get Bane, a cursed gun. So we started it. We went to Lynchwood, the area you have to go to to get it, and the enemies were WAAAAAAY too powerful for us.

But guess what? Like complete idiots, we tried to fight them off. When that didn't work, we tried to run past them.

After about TWO HOURS and $20,000 worth of dying each, we FINALLY made it to the end and got the gun.

And then we put it in our banks and we haven't used it since.

Bumping this.

Okay guys, do we have a good sized amount of Cutstuff members playing this? They're coming out with a big Guild Hall update so I was thinking that if we had enough people, creating a Cutstuff guild wouldn't be a bad idea.

Anyone know a good way to play the Spy in MvM? I think I've got a pretty good setup, but I'm wondering if anyone else has found something better.

Also, does anyone know if the Red Tape Recorder does anything different than the default sapper in MvM?

74
Nevermind guys, it doesn't work right. Sorry.

Yeah. I've kept in touch with Crunchy, but I haven't really talked to him too much lately and he hasn't been on cutstuff in forever. Those were some good times!
