I posted a couple times fairly recently, I guess, but I was nowhere NEAR as active as I once was, and I really haven't been involved in 8BDM at all lately. I intend to actually be active here from now on, and maybe start skinning again.

Oh. Well, I kinda like classes, so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. Roboenza is the thing that really started to bug me after so much time.

Still love good ol' vanilla deathmatch the best, though.

Huge fragfest? Haven't gotten to do one of those in a while. I'll probably join you guys! And don't worry about the amount of downloads. I've got plenty of space to spare, and I'm patient for download times :P

Haven't played 8BDM in forever, nor have I posted here in ages. Haven't made a single skin in ages, either.

But that doesn't give me an excuse not to post here. I totally just remembered this place recently and I need to start posting here more.

I'd also like to get together and play some 8BDM with you guys sometime. Is roboenza still the in thing? Because that got old pretty quick.

If you'd like to know why my time has been consumed, this is just one example. Also this. /shamelesslyadvertising

Anyway, seriously, I'm back. I'm not going to neglect this forum anymore.

I'm also thinking about skinning again... Don't have the urge to do some of the really challenging ideas I had quite yet, though. Any suggestions? Remember I only like to skin stuff that is classic Megaman (canon or not, I guess).

I bet the community has totally changed and none of you know me now.

Wait, you won't need it to be open source to not need Game Maker.

Open Source means that the creator gives people the source code and allows them to edit and use it as they wish. In fact, if its open source, you'd probably need GM to use the open source version.

On the other hand, if its not open source, you won't need game maker anyway. Instead, it will be an .exe for you to run and play like any other game, and the coding and such will not be available to anyone. You will not need game maker.

I'm pretty good with the Pandora Claws. My pair, anyway. I LOVE their forward dash fully charged attack. It dishes out the pain.

Also... I REALLY liked the single player.
This will be spoiler'd just for safety. Not everything is spoilery, but some of it is just on the edge, and a lot of it is HUGE SPOILERS. So read only if you beat the game/don't care.

Man, the first half of the game I was like, "This is funny and all, but I am disappoint at the story." The trailers had given me the impression that there would be lots of really interesting characters like Magnus, and then it just seemed like every level was "RANDOM NEW BOSS THAT YOU DONT GET TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT".

Then I reached the second half of the game and BAM. Story, characters, AND humor all wrapped up in a GREAT package. By the time you meet Viridi, things get REALLY intriguing. When Pit got turned into a ring, I was playing every stage in a row just wanting to see the ending.

Anywho, characters. Here's my thoughts on them:
Pit: Seriously awesome. So dorky and funny, he's an awesome protagonist. I loved his silly video game references too.
Palutena: Don't have much of an opinion on her. She complements Pit very well and is pretty silly and such, but she's not one of my favorites.
Viridi: Awesome. Her voice actress was great. I loved her cynical personality and how she acted toward Pit.
Hades: YES. He was so awesome. I loved how he didn't seem like a generic villain. He wasn't just AWESOME EVIL BWAAAH, he was self-obsessed, narcissistic evil.
Pyrrhon: "JUSTICE"

Anyone else think that it would be cool if Dark Pit becomes more of his own character in the next game? They seemed to be aiming for that, honestly. His personality was quite different from Pit's already, and they started calling him "Pittoo", as if trying to give him his own name.

I REALLY got the feeling there was more in for him when he lost the ability to fly. Think about it, Viridi can give the power of flight, too. Anyone else think that the rivalry will become even more interesting with Palutena/Pit vs Viridi/Pittoo? I think it would be awesome if that happened. I'm also hoping that in the next game Dark Pit will have a fairly different outfit from Pit, retaining similarities, but looking different enough to be sort of his own.

Sounds good. If anyone wants to do Luna, be my guest for the rotations and skinning, you may use my sprite. As for Apollo, I'll see if I have time to do him. He shouldn't be too difficult. If anyone wants to do Apollo, feel free to ask. I haven't skinned in a long time and I still have a lot to finish.

I would most certainly like to help with this. Those sprites you have in the first post are great.
If you'd like, you can use my Fan skin for this. I may be able to improve it if necessary.

Also, let me dig out my Luna and Apollo sprites...

I have a Cancer sprite as well, but its not as good as the one in the first post, so it seems unnecessary.

I can try to make Apollo at some point, but if someone else wants to make him, be my guest.

You have no idea how long I've wanted this to be done. I would've started a project like this myself, but sadly, skinning is my only real skill. Hoping this thing gets somewhere!

I actually consider Duo one of my best skins and it has gotten alot of praise. His hand is not just flipped, actually, I edited it after flipping it. But with such small details its kinda hard to tell, I couldn't do much with it. As for the green dot.... well, I didn't see that, but its not a huge deal.

As for Fan, yeah, he's my first skin. he goes up 1 pixel because the old Megaman skin did... I think. I can't remember.

Anyway, thanks for posting. This topic has been dead forever. I intend to actually skin again one of these days... we'll see how long that takes. But I thank everyone for all the support I've had!
