Which might be criticized for having around normal-ish missile speed, average-ish movement, and normal-ish jump. The point I'm trying to make is that NOTHING can be truly original anymore. Ultimately, I was just wondering if someone would either consider taking up my class despite it's inevitable "unoriginality" or provide a more valid reason as to why my class is so terrible. I'm honestly not trying to defend my class needlessly, but considering how just about everything has been done to some extent, I frankly don't see anybody giving another reason as to why my edited class isn't viable/shouldn't be made.

Do you plan to throw out a suggestion or just arbitrarily criticize? As for "LONG RANGE AND MELEE", I can't tell if you're joking or not. That's like saying "JUMP AND SHOOT WHAT'S UP WITH THAT". You get blamed for ripping off something in YD's classes if you pick only one. My class isn't Jack Corvus fast either, just slightly faster than usual as logically modeled after Ryu.

I don't think a mod like this is logic central (one involving members of a forum about a little blue robot that shoots plasma shots from an arm cannon designed by what appears to be a Santa Claus impersonator). Besides, if eating stuff was possible, Toastman could be OBKO'd (one bite KO'd) by everybody. Was his class rejected? I think not. I'm... not too sure what a kawaiii hadouken is, and if the Nacho Buster was explosive or something, it would be blamed for a Laggy Blazko ripoff from CSCC. Ultimately, I've been thinking about this for a while and I can't think of anything fun that one couldn't possibly connect to SOME other class out there. I personally think playstyle can make stuff differ even with seemingly similar concepts, but if most disagree, then I'm not sure how to move forward at this point.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I see what you're saying now. So from what issues I have so far:

The Hadouken is generic and overdone (I can definitely agree in hindsight)
The javelin thing can be expanded upon

So, with that, would something like this work?

Javelins for primary weapon that can be cycled with altfire (love the idea; thanks Gummy); for second weapon, Nacho Buster (Yamato Spear style) primary and Hurricane Kick altfire. So instead of mixing a bunch of stuff, it's just javelin gets its own weapon and then there's a buster and melee for second weapon.

Darn, that's exactly what I was afraid of  :?. That's why I had Nacho Buster, Javelin, Hurricane Kick, etc. instead of Shoryuken, Shun Goku Satsu, etc. I'm a bit confused, though, because:

I was given the impression that I should have either a Ryu theme or an javelin tossing maniac type deal rather than a combination, so I don't completely understand how

I kind of just wanted some trace of Street Fighter in my class, so would maybe just one attack from the series be alright and the rest based upon the javelin thing? My only worry is that I won't get the benefit of Ryu's little quirks and stuff that justify his weaknesses, speed, jump, etc. as well as the fact that I wouldn't have a pre-made skin to make life a little easier for whoever is making the class. The main idea behind the whole javelin thing was just to add some spice to the class so it's not Ryu v1.1.

Of course, I'm going to go ahead and totally contradict that in saying the values for weaknesses were completely based off of Ryu in Street Fighter X Megaman (which Capcom officially recognized). Chun-Li, a melee attacker, is weak to Ryu's Hadouken, so I made general melee weapons 0.7 damage (less than usual), particularly Charge Kick because it's most like Chun-Li's signature Lightning Kick. Now, in Street Fighter X Megaman, Ryu was weak to Optic Laser, so I figured Gemini Laser was most like it (laser of light), Flash Bomb dealt with light, but not lasers, so I made myself less weak to it than Gemini Laser. Fire kinda deals with "Optic" (light), so I put a little weight for general fire weapons and a slight resistance to Flame Sword because it's melee.

Nacho buster is open to interpretation, I guess.

Although I personally feel the medium range fighter is way different than Smash's class, I guess I can see the connection. If I made a completely Ryu thing, I know I would be called out on the similarity to Smash, and if I didn't, there would be no theme to glue the darn thing together. I was kind of inclined to make more attacks than really necessary because Neo said more attacks could add flavor to the class and that I wasn't even near complex yet. The Nacho Buster was intended for rapid-fire type action, while the Hadouken was intended to be a slower, more powerful thing, not just "lolz more stuff to shoot ftw".

The idea behind the Hurricane Kick was to initiate a Charge Kick as soon as the previous one ended, not a roulette deal where you sometimes hit based on Lady Luck and you sometimes miss and get shot in the back for your efforts.

I was just kind of pitching out two ideas and if both don't mix, I'm cool with that. I'm perfectly fine to modifying this myself to become total Street Fighter or I'd also be glad to work with Gummy's idea of the javelin based class. I know I'm asking for a lot here, but if my comments make anything more clear or if a revamp could/should be taken a certain direction, please let me know because I can't express how much you guys have already helped.

As far as name goes, would some influence of your own name be appropriate, Tails? Like "Top Tails in Town" or "Watch your Tail" (combination of watch your step and watch your back)? Maybe "Live to tell the Tail" (play on words, I know "Tale" is the correct term in this situation)? If you keep Saxton "Watch your Tail for Saxton Hale", or perhaps "1 Man Show: Dawn of the New Age". There's all kinds of possibilities, but you might want to be more specific towards what sort of name you're looking for.

I can tell my class overall sucks to most people, so could I at least get some feedback for an altered version that doesn't suck? I'm a little disappointed that I posted my class nearly two weeks before Jdude330 even joined, yet he's gotten feedback and I haven't.

The question about why flight is OP? I'm not sure if you're referring to a specific class. Are you asking why Alice's flight is OP?

Ah, some more Saxton Hale. If someone can pull this off, it's you, Tails.

1. As much as I personally want an Akuma for Hale, I'm fine with Balrog's list with a couple exceptions. I think I can safely say I'm not the only one in the community who thinks Morshu is a joke that has been stretched too far. Gilgamesh is about as effective as a rubber duck and Cave could use a slight health nerf.

2. Team based gameplay is a wonderful idea on paper, but it doesn't seem like it would work out too well and I can already see a variety of glitches. Team chat isn't really necessary in a style as fast-paced as this and I ultimately just see more unnecessary work that could be diverted to resources such as giving each Hale a unique skin, which would solve the problem of identifying the Hale anyway.

3. Maybe it would be most reasonable in this case to get the project on its feet to show the community it's got potential before worrying about potential classes. In other words, adding classes may be biting off more than we can chew at the moment.

4. I'm a strong advocate of equal chances for Hales to be chosen. Even if some Hales are liked less by most of the community, variety would appeal to both the community and the minority equally.

5. I have to disagree on this one as of the most recent Saxton Hale by Balrog. Hales have enormous amounts of health and unless there's a boatload of people, the survivors are essentially screwed. As of R7, I feel Hales overall need less health and slightly more speed (or perhaps slightly more range, but under no circumstances should they get both).

Additional Notes: To prevent too many people from wiping the Hale out too quickly, I think there should be weapon tiers. More players, lower tier weapons to stop 15 people shutting down the centerpiece of the mod in 10 seconds with Flash Bomb. I also feel last survivor should get a random rune instead of just spread to spice up the game and an E-Tank so they have a better chance against either of the Caves (Johnson or Story).

I really hope my points are considered because I don't want such a great mod to die.

I've been giving a lot of thought to these maps, but I'm still a bit concerned.

Beed and Yellow Devil both seem like they deserve my vote, but there are some minor things that may or may not be changed. These things influence my vote and I'm not sure if I should take them into account or not. Ivory initially said he was looking for a solid layout, but I truly despise and can't oversee the idea of Astro Crush in Yellow Devil's map and I have mixed feelings for the fact that walking backwards into a pipe (an escape route in a firefight) just spits you back into the heat of battle. While it slightly discourages camping in LMS, it could mean the difference between being fragged or not in DM. He also plans to remove the centerpiece weapon where Tomahawk currently stands, and I think something should go there to prevent it from seeming blank. That said, it doesn't seem like Yellow Devil has any intentions of changing these things, so I'm not sure if we're voting on the layout we play on or the map we foresee.
