General Gaming Discussion / Re: Mashini Devata: a WIP game by brotoad

I'm still alive much to the chagrin of many!

But yes, this is without a doubt one of the most creative ideas for a game I've ever heard of - this stuff is genius.  I've been genuinely impressed with every aspect that Brotoad has told me about.

You gotta love Brotoad's sprites, they're fantastic.

Oh God I hate L4D also.  TF2 as well.  How could a company go from making such emotionally gripping single-player experiences and then go into total herp-derp togetherness mode?  Instead of HL3 we get overhyped mutliplayer stuff.  Laaame.

Coulda swore there was one of these topics already.

As a lad of 8 I was writing a comic about a boy who climbed to heaven.  I couldn't think of a name, and the word "Namco" was flashing around my head after playing the Tower of Druaga for the last hours.  So I removed the C.

If not Quake, then Half-Life.
Same engine

Was talking level design and atmosphere more than mechanics.

I know a bunch of people who used to be a bully, and they're all remorseful about it.  I respect them greatly for that.

I was almost a bully once.  In the first grade I was taller than most kids.  One day this new kid showed up and tried to take my best friend from me and I yelled at him and made him cry.  I didn't even hit him.  I hated the feeling.  I apologized to the kid the next day and we all became good friends.

Anyway, got a new thing that I hate.  People who never shut up about relationships, whether that means they're in one or want to be in one or miss their "boo" or whatever.  I had to block more than half of the people in my Facebook friends because every single status update was that.

Doom's got great labyrinthine levels and it's pretty immersive, but I've never beaten it.  It gets too boring after awhile.

Quake, now, that's another story.  I can own me some Quake.  I've played it on every game system I've ever owned.  My 1996 Dos PC, my 2002 PC, my current PC, my Dreamcast, My DS, my Wii...  That game just never gets old to me.  I love it, I love its sequels, and no matter what anyone says, Quake has got to be Top Dog in the FPS biz, at least for me.  If not Quake, then Half-Life.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are tied for a close second or third place.

Agree with the above post.  Doom and Wolf3D may have been innovators but they certainly aren't the best.

CoDMW2 isn't the best either.  Not by a long shot, but at least its better than Doom and Wolf 3D.

A summary of a CoD MW2 match

*spawn, realize higher Tier players have better weapons, kill you with them, you lose, you ask where the fun is*

The fact that there are even Tiers in a Shootan-gaem to begin with is asinine in its own right.  But hey, maybe Black Ops will be better! ...ah who'm I kidding, it's Activision.

This would happen.

I want Shadow of the Colossus to be real so hard.

Oh.  This was a serious question.  Huh, I didn't think anyone would actually ask such a thing, on a Mega Man site no less.

Oh dear.

I would be pricklyman and I'd be a Hedgehog.  Or a cactus.  Or both.  A mexican hedgehog with a sombrero who has cacti on his back.  On sundays I'd play Texas Hold 'em with Dr. Wily.  I would also sleep all of the time and my favorite game would be Mario, just for the sake of irony, though my real favorite game would be Sonic.

...What am I talking about again?

Anyway, Pricklyman the Cactushog or Hedgecatcus or Hedgetus or Cachog.  Or something.

As long as the song is melodic and not just one endless guitar riff over and over, I'm listening to it.

Also, I don't like obscene lyrics, and I absolutely hate it when the vocals of a song are growling or screaming.  So that counts out most metal.

Mostly Game OSTs to be honest.
