I used to play stuff on Skulltag servers all the time - stuff like Zombie Horde, GvH, Deathmatch, etc. In general the in-game community there was pretty quiet, and none seemed to notice that I was from MM8BDM - at the same time, I didn't go throwing that around everywhere, and quite frankly I doubt that they cared either way. Don't go around calling them "morons" just because there's a couple of people who still feel really bitter about MM8BDM existing. To be fair, they do have a decent reason for doing so - be the better man in that case, and respect their thoughts like you would someone from these forums.
I really should play Doom 2 more.
Llama speaks the absolute truth. The IG-Community for Zandro / ST / Doom / etc. is quiet and still is in comparison.
There are some bad apples, sure. But they're not on the level of immaturity as some of the IG-community for 8BDM is. Not saying it to call people out to grow up, but I expect more out of the older Doom community than I am towards some of you. Why is that so? I used to be a Doom player and still am a Doom player and I still see how that side of the engine behaves both ways.
Again, don't take this as a slanderous rant that's badmouthing you guys, by all means I'm for seeing how the community changes over time, that is for sure.
