In any case, I'll be blunt, what I meant when I said "what is your favourite computing platform" was "what do you use for number crunching and document storage most often?  Your phone?  Your PC?  Your Lackingtosh?  Your 3DS (fuck idk)?"

Korby, if you don't need glasses just put 20-20.  I was seriously piss-drunk when I made this.  That wasn't the first thing on my mind.

Division probably rounds towards zero if it doesn't actually round properly.  I'm too tired to test right now.  I'll post results later.

Tutorial Collection / ACS, Signed Integers, and Bit Shifts

Multiplication by 2^n is the same as bit shifting to the left (<<) by n.

Division by 2^n is the same as bit shifting to the right (>>) by n.

The ACS right-shift is what is called an "arithmetic shift", i.e. it preserves the sign.

Wait.  You spent a week on that?  I started learning ACS the day I wrote that in well under an hour O.o

But, yeah, I can tell it will be derpy already.

That version actually doesn't.  I've improved the math since then, and there's a fuckton of derp in that that I've fixed so far, but that code section doesn't jump it straight to positive.  It detects the octant (quadrant except with eight of them) that the x, y coordinate is in.

The first if removes 4*(pi/4) radians or pi radians from the x,y angle and adds them to beta, the second does the same with pi/2, the third does the same with pi/4.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I probably won't need your code for it, though.  I'm currently working on a mathematics library for ACS.

Please do not question the mathematics library in progress that I will release soon, and please do not skid it.

Can anyone tell me why the first call to atan() in script 13337 always passes negatives?

And, all in all, I'd say I did pretty good for being drunk.

It's fine, I fixed it.

Yeah.  I could probably do more to expurgate them, but I don't want to seem like an ass.

I understand that, I just couldn't figure out how to quickly and promptly word it.

Anything Goes / Re: General Offtopic Discussion
« on: November 30, 2013, 10:03:30 AM »
Okay, I want to make a few things clear about myself.  A not-to-named person recently messaged me with a bit of suspicion, regarding my computing skill, the poll, and just in general my oddness.

My profile states that I am a white-hat, and I am.  However:

I only 'hack' when a company requests that I do so to their own servers, and even then, I request permission from the server hosts to do each task individually.  It's a contract-basis thing.

Yes, I am indeed odd.  This is because I am in general not the most sociable of people.  To put it in perspective:

Some humans are bad with computers.  Likewise, I sometimes compare myself to a computer that is bad with humans.  Albeit, sometimes, I think that comparison is moot.  I mean, I have a significant other (Kyra), which is more than can be said for a lot of people, so I'm probably not the worst possible scenario with humans, but at the same time, she gives off just as odd an air as me.

And, yes, the poll could probably be used for maliciously intentioned deeds.  However:

The reason I created that poll is to help drive discussion on the community's population and how it fluctuates.  Demographic info helps with such discussions, as it always have.

In conclusion, yes, I have seen some communities torn apart by malicious hackers, and no, I do not intend to do so to you all, because I would not do that to anyone, and, in any case,

I particularly like this community.  It supplies me with a steady influx of nostalgia.

Uh...  No.  I'm just curious.  I'm seeing how diverse we all are and what demographics are common.

Out of curiosity, I'm surveying the cutstuff populace.  If you have time, please fill out this survey.  Thank you, and have a nice day.

I want to see how diverse the community is and what kind of mainstreams there are here.

This thread is open to discussion of the responses and the diversity of the community and any plausible effects of it.

EDIT:  Due to human idiocy that I should have seen coming, I'm going to publish a link to expurgated results instead of normal, charted results.
