Projects & Creative / Re: [HOTFIX] - King Yamato's Classes Overhaul
« on: December 22, 2014, 04:00:09 PM »
I know I said I was done, but lemme rephrase:

Musashi was one out of idk-how-many that didn't even show hostility against JC and was more about showing how equal they are in terms of having ups and downs. Others were more concerned about blaming Musashi for anyone that chooses to make an ACTUAL scene in the thread than to agree "You all screwed up, so shut the hell up and kiss already."

Edit: I don't have anything against anyone on the forums, and I try to be respectful, but it bugs me that people are so desperate to avoid sharing what they think in a manner like Musashi intended and want to tell someone else whether or not they should. Dare I go as far as saying that's a little selfish, especially if they meant no harm in the first place?

Double Edit: In shorter terms, does "You shouldn't have said/done this even if you are right." sound like a bit much to you?

The only thing that's been "useless" is how serious people are taking Justified's existance (and I mean them taking it serious in a negative way.)

Oh, and a so amount of people honestly believe there's a competition? That everyone who compares the two is trying to start mess? When Musashi spoke his mind about the differences between the mods, he was doing so out of respect for BOTH mods. Nothing really started until someone else came in and claimed "flaws" and "lack of evidence/reasoning" in what most people's opinions on what they felt more comfortable with. It's already been stated: These are two entirely different mods for two entirely different groups of people.

Let me spell it out for you in Musashi's own words:
"Maybe we can say what we like without disliking others. Maybe we can try to understand and respect other people's tastes and points of view without needing to puncture them in the neck. I can do that, and other people here can too...so why avoid it just because of a few who can't?"

I'm done here. I'm not taking sides, I'm showing common sense. If people think Justified has so many problems, let them improve at their own pace. (Inb4 I get sued by Dobson for that last phrase.)

Then someone might as well make this V4-compatible already and be done with it. Is there anyone who can say otherwise?

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: What do you guys think of "scheduling" servers?
« on: December 22, 2014, 05:56:37 AM »
A Skype group would actually be useful for those who would like to do something that isn't played as much/not played at all anymore (something I'd be interested in.) If there are enough that know about it, know there are enough others up for it, and they're cool with voting on what to do every whenever instead of giving a damn about what unrelated people are doing, it would make it easier to show a little lovin' for the old stuff.

...That, and seeing what old mods are V4-compatible or what can be fixed/patched that way (depending on whatever people want, or it'll depend on if this whole thing gets that far.)

Quote from: "Orange juice :l"
This thread reeks of people trying to make others stop playing what they want to so they're arbitrarily forced/incentivized to play the poster's favored mode. That never works, not to mention how selfish it is. You can't make people do what they don't want to, and we've all found first-hand that assembling a group to "schedule fun" does not work in practice. If you truly can't sell people on a mode enough for it to be played, either in-or-outside of the current playerbase, it's probably a dead mode, sorry.

If people thought like that, they wouldn't be keeping on about how so-and-so gamemodes are "cancer and need to die."

I already get that you can't force someone off of something they like, and I'm not going for that. The problem I have is that I hear enough from people about stuff like this, yet if it were such a problem, something would've or should've been done by now.

Want a better idea? Encourage people to set a "break period" on their servers, or at least ones like mentioned in the above two posts. If people actually took down their servers for a while, especially if it's something easily populated and has been played for a while, maybe people would do something else for a change.

Double-posting to mention this is updated to Pb2 (because it's likely in need of more work.) Here's a changelog:

Of course, any feedback, suggestions, or means of how to adjust the classes is appreciated.

EDIT: Added images back to the class list and added the info for Morshu (which I forgot to do at first.)

It's always nice seeing your friends AND offtopic bunny selfies, so that question was pointless.

EDIT: To prevent from being too pointless, my brother's birthday past two days ago and I never bothered to mention it sooner. He goes by EodTheDarkPaladin/EodTheDarkBlade for whoever's seen him on servers. He's not a forum user and only occasionally plays (and is more on Dueling Network than anything,) but I figured why not give him a Happy belated Birthday (or not if he's a total stranger to you.)

Skins & Bots etc / Bump.
« on: February 25, 2015, 06:52:14 AM »
Thanks for both the comments and the stuff you pointed out, Medal. On regards to Hellbot, I only copied the offsets from the regular Napalmman skin, but 1. I did missset some of the side frames and 2. the core skin had the forward-side frames the same way as you mentioned.

Anyway, I fixed those frames on Hellbot and adjusted the forward-side frames, so it's ready to redownload. And on regards to my old user skin (which despite the unique firing frames I gave it, I never really payed attention to,) the skinname is now listed beside the full name.

----------------<<<EDIT>>>----------------
-----------------------------------------------

Bumping the thread for a couple things. A WIP section's been added to the skin list (see first post,) currently with two skins planned. They'll stay anonymous (more or less) until one or both have been finished and released.

Also, added a music pack of the Sega Genesis version of Shaq-Fu. Despite what they say about the game itself, it has some catchy music.

147
After months of ignoring this thread's existance, I've gotten a little more interested in skinmaking. With this, I've did some work to the front page and added a new skin:

After seeing IAmAMedalHunter's work on L'Etranger (??? from Unholy), I figured I'd do something for a certain other Unholy boss.

148
Sorry for bumping so soon, but I wanted to go ahead and take care of an issue with the Super Adaptor where the doublejump wouldn't work. Links have been updated, plus I added a bit to the end of the credits.

Edit: Added credit for the SH maps also, which I forgot to do earlier.

(Edit 9/29/2021: First post cleaned up for outdated version. See latest post for info about the revision.)

Small disclaimer: I'm not exceptionally experienced in modding and only dabble in what areas I've grown familiar with. Any pre-existing material used - or at least material significant enough to mention - are credited to the extent of my ability (at least at the time I wrote this outdated thing's credits list. Further info to be listed in later modding.)

Saxton Hale Boss Classes Remix
SHBCX or Hale Classes Remix for short, this cluttered, outdated variation was inspired by a younger/inexperienced Otaku Alex's long erased Saxton Hale Classes mod, which ripped and converted Hales into playable classes. Taking a step further, my aim was to create partially-to-mostly new takes on each Hale in class form, using info from their source material and existing traits from various 8BDM SH versions.
