Mega Man Discussion / Re: Mega Man Legends 3 cancelled
« on: August 10, 2011, 10:40:40 PM »
Regarding both games, we just have to come to conclusion #1 that Inafune's leave was like shutting off life support for the projects, and that both projects just didn't receive the kind of attention they expected. It was more of a cowardice one way of looking at it cause they barely gave them a chance, but as a safe business decision on the other.

Still they SHOULD have least brought out demos for both before canning them you? But hey, this is business.

EDIT: Also Trollman, you could have edit your previous post than double posting.

If they ((Hypothetically speaking)) intend to sell Mega Man to Inafune, they may as well give him Dead Rising and Lost Planet while they're at it. After all, those were his creations too ((other than a co-creator behind it as well)).

You know, Capcom isn't the only company that has cancelled games fans were anticipating. Seriously boycotting them is just plain ridiculous and childish.

We boycott everything, so this is hardly anything different. Course more of the boycott revolved around Capcom's response to the project when they canceled it which was rather insulting to the base and it's supporters. Whether the case, I still support the 100,000 group despite what others think. And if Capcom won't let the message come to their minds then, that's why once again we need to make it.

After all, their beloved base has been making and keeping Mega Man alive this long.

I never hated Battle Network cause at the time it was something different from the Classic series. Albeit it wasn't my favorite series, but I gave it a chance and came to the conclusion that it wasn't bad ((I mean crap. . .I bought the Manga of Battle network, that much I'll admit)). I will say that the games just haven't really drawn me in to make me addicted. The only time I'll play a Battle network game is when I'm bored and want to continue from a past file of mine that I never bothered completing XD. Really the only thing that kept me from going further was how bland most of the areas look and the repetitiousness of battles that aren't normally fun, and some puzzles gimmicks that I found rather pointless and boring ((Swimming to re-collect the fish data in the Aquarium is a good example)) and it seems to continue again once you gain access to another area on the net.

Course most could say this for about other RPGs, but something about Battle network's setup never sat in my stomach well. It's a shame cause I'm a big fan of customization, especially anything card-like related, but I suppose it depends on what. I will say Network Transmission was the ONLY Battle network game that I would always go back to play because of how well the Classic and BN concepts mesh together, course some bosses have really cheap attacks and should have been given nerfs at least but eh. . .

I'll admit though that somewhere deep inside I have some slight lingering animosity with this series on how as of this generation, it's looked upon as. . .well how can I say it. . . like Battle Network was the original Mega Man from the get-go and it's the only series that they're aware of without most of them even looking at it's Catalyst. But that's just me. I just don't want these kids going around with the mindset that one thing coming out is a new idea when it originated from somewhere else without doing some research, but this too is just normal I suppose. . .

I think we'll be able to live with this, guys. After all, there's always a chance for a new X or classic game to come out.

I like how this is implication is still roaming around. What give people this conclusion or thought that X9 would be possible? They didn't bother to localize any other good titles like that Professor Layton/Phoenix Wright game. Monster Hunter 3 isn't coming out here nor did a certain PSP version which would have been good money for them. And we already know what happened with two other games. . .

I mean Mega Man hasn't received any actual good games for it series in years. MM9 and MM10 were the only ones, but weren't exactly what we were expecting. In any case it's true, but to Capcom at lest. Mega Man is dead to them cause they can't see any more money involved, and Inafune was pretty much the life support. The cancellation of Universe and Legends should point that out by now they just don't give a damn even if another reason was due to finance. ((My statement could be wrong or disagreeable but seriously, Capcom just doesn't care.))

Hell, maybe they'll release a new series that features Volnutt and Roll Casket and blahblahblah.

Personally CoD used to be fun, especially World at war and the FIRST Modern Warfare. Then once I got my hands on MW2 and Black ops. . .everything went to the shitter.

Anyway. . .worst game I ever played? Samurai Legend Musashi. Gameplay was slow and uninteresting, plot, despite playing a homage to the 5 rings book, was average and dull. Voice acting was whatever. Combat was clunky and half assed ironically since the stat customization was actually good. Enemy respawn counter is too low and most of them deal waaaaay too much damage. Weapon abilities were not creative and at times hardly helped made combat easier ((the abilities you scan from enemies however were better and more situational)).

To put it simply, think of it as a turd decorated with colorful jems. That kinda describes most of Square's stuff now a days, cept some of their games like Crystal Chronicles were actually good despite being shunned for some reason by the base.

...its not about story =

Besides, you just listed most of the series. X9 has about a 1% chance of being made and theres 0 hope for a Mega Man 11. Other than that all you have left is ZX which isn't even popular so no 3 for that, and Legends which just died. Capcom cancelled Mega Man Legends 3, that doesn't mean that Mega Man is dying. It was already dead.

Series (dark text means unfinished):
Classic
X
Legends

Zero
ZX
BN
SF

Classic series, despite how awesome it would be to see what led to the X era, can never have a conclusion. Think of it like the Saturday cartoons ((The good ones XD)) you would see. There really isn't a main storyline other than the point you received from the intro or first episode. Each episode is a different conflict the protagonist must over come accompanied by either the same or different foes. If one episode was so deep in it's plot, then a part two was needed later on. Once it's over you knew all was in peace but the bad guy always returned in the end.

Classic series is basically a never ending cycle that kinda gave it that charm. Then X series came forth showing the end of the Blue Bomber and his nemesis Wily but with something different. We knew the old era was gone, just not sure how really. Anyway they  were replaced by Light and Wily's creations X and Zero in a period of hunting Mavericks all up till X5 ((canon ending cause X6 was just plot rape)). So technically speaking, X series was LOOONG completed in terms of storyline, it's just that Capcom wanted to milk it off more with more games ((Command mission was the ONLY good one out of the rest IMO)) so it never seemed like it. We know about Zero series, so skipping to ZX. . . well I CAN'T say it isn't unpopular cause it's basically like an improvement of difficulty over the past formulas of X and Zero series, but that's just an assumption I gathered from lurking in countless forums and listening to HideofBeast and it got some positive reception last I checked. SO I would assume it has a better chance of getting ZX3 and maybe ending there, but IDK.

well hopefully its fake (which it probably is)
or mega man really is dead

Course it's fake, that's just a rumor to cause more drama. Look at Capcom's twitter page regarding it. . .

So basically it's the fans fault that this game was canceled, along with a lack of us participating. Translating to "If you weren't involved, it's your fault we gave up"
Honestly, I feel very horrible for those, especially on DA that submitted their concept art and ideas for this game and now reading this scapegoat of a reason. . .

Bitching and moaning at capcom to start it again wont make them do it again.

Thhhhaaaank you!!

But course can't blame the base for acting like this. Least the guys who got DNF ((Duke Nukem Forever)) got the game despite it not being to their expectations ((Which said expectations should have left them decades ago)).

I love legends. Could care less about people who never liked the series, it has my respect cause its fresh and it worked and at least delivered entertainment and a good average fan base. MY FREAKING OPINION

What irritates me more is when good creative ideas, stories, and such actually get to be in use. . . and this crap happens. True, lot of us shouldn't have been surprised by this and even expected it, but I still think this was by far one of dumbest moves Capcom has done. "Couldn't meet with the criteria" my shiny metal ass. . . just the same excuse you put on universe too.

But hey, least most of you will enjoy ZX3 no?

Ugh. . . such a bad taste in my mouth

I don't mind competitive hardcore playing, but god or ANY deity knows I don't tolerate being yelled at for trivial bull. Hence why I prefer to stick to games where competitive stuff is tame and not *WHY THE $#%@ DIDN'T YOU USE A ROCKET ON THAT TANK!!?? ARE YOU SOME SORT OF DUMB$^#%??!! GET THE &*%@ OUT!!!"
