OBJECTION
Why would you want a one shot primary? It doesn't even kill people.
*shot*
The DPS is crap, even I'm aware of that. But thats not to say it CAN'T kill anyone or thing if you know how to use it and you got a good eye.
But hey...
Medics had crap range with the Needlegun from the get-go whether the arc was aimed right or not. The Crusader Crossbow makes up for it...
In comparison to both the needle gun and the crusader crossbow, the obvious choice is the needle gun. Better DPS and damage ((depending upon ramp up, and distance of course...)) and more reliable when escaping. I don't deny the usefulness of the Needle gun and it's variant the Blutsauger. The problem here is that your saying it like the medic SHOULD go out and snipe like the Sniper and kill just like his huntsman. Thats not the purpose of the Crusader Crossbow, but thats not to say 75 damage from long range won't tear up less endured classes if used properly. Think of the crusader crossbow as a mini huntsman minus the charge. DPS? I'm getting to that now...
Since Medics are always on the field, they require a defense weapon to protect themselves if their meat shield tumbles right? Obviously the needle gun comes into play to give yourself a better chance. The thing here is that the Crusader crossbow creates an entirely different method of gameplay for the medic... a medic sniper.
Is it better? Yes to
some extent because your surviving better than you originally would with the needle gun, why?
Your not attacking on the battlefield which is what the medic should be doing other than healing and ditching the scene when it looks bad. Now remember what the Crusader crossbow does.... If you just see it as a one shot weapon with no headshot then sorry to say thats very naive. It has healing capabilities that increase with range. Compared to the medigun, the healing rate for the Crusader Crossbow exceeds the medigun no matter the 10-15 second rule...

Again just like the DPS, the HPS is no better in seconds, hence why I hope the DPS gets increased to make this weapon more useful in other areas besides Medieval play, though you also see that if the map permits it ((and their is another medic of course)), you can snipe from a safe area and target medic buddies that may be damaged and of course provide some covering fire, though your main job is keeping you teammates alive so in terms of competitive play, the crossbow can be used for reaching teammates that
can't be targeted by the medigun which requires them to be in mid range. Obviously communication, sharp eyes ((or Eye in your case

)), and accurate judgement is needed, but this is no different from playing sniper with a Huntsman. The difference here is just poor DPS, and weaker damage than the Hunstman, hence why we refer to it as the mini huntsman.
