Nice try but it doesn't sound very oily. We've been unable to get a good sound for it since the weapon was first put in the game it seems. I guess this can stay open though if anyone is willing to give it another try, otherwise it will stay the same.

The same reason why we don't use Wily Wars/Powered Up textures in the NES levels is applied here. More people have attachment to the original NES games rather than the spinoffs and don't want to alienate them with alternative content that they've possibly never heard or seen before. Tenguman's song is acceptable since the alternative song was from each port of the game which came out roughly around the same time.

Trying to actually make this happen in code is annoying since we don't control when the teleport fx spawns (i.e a_spawnitemex). Options are either give the teleport fogs some arbitrary tid number (+ 1000, which is what cbm is doing) or add something to the translation changing code that gives players an inventory based on what translation number they have. I'm not sure the latter can be relied on heavily if a modder chooses to use it (online) and I'm not a fan of taking up more tids that external mods could already be using.

I'd probably settle on the latter, just depends how badly we want them.

A new version just released not too long ago and some servers are up to date and others aren't. I'd give it a while before trying to join again as people still need to update.

Update, 3.0 is finally out! You may need to manually download it from here and point your doomseeker config to it: https://zandronum.com/downloads/zandronum3.0-win32-base.zip

MM8BDM V5C will launch with this version packaged in so you won't need to worry about this in the future. For now though, go ahead and extract the contents of the above zip into your mm8bdm directory to update.
