Ghouls versus Humans Arcade v2bh

Been getting some good reception and feedback on this iteration of GvH so of course it's only natural to continue and add more content. As you can probably figure, that's what these versions do. Brings the reintroduction of Marine for the human side and Choke for the ghoul side. Will be looking to add in more of the older classes as I continue forward, but I figured these two were the most felt absence.

Ghouls versus Humans Arcade

Largely inspired by GvH NES and previous attempts at keeping that mod alive, I felt like there was a demand for some ghouls action. However, previous attempts also ended up feeling a bit lacking in trying to design for and with MM8BDM's maps and overarching design. GvH Arcade aims to take the ghouls design and adapt it better to MM8BDM's environment through various means to push it into being a mod that's more accessible and understandable when compared to other MM8BDM mods.

One such design choice is implementing a daybreak timer for standard TLMS that allows ghouls to keep their iconic high mobility and unrestricted design while also not giving them a win condition for stalling the match out. Similarly, humans have been redesigned to focus on more specialized concepts in the way that more traditional classes might be designed, emphasizing a sense of teamwork for them compared to the ghoul side.

Alongside this goal of accessibility, the in-game menu offers easily viewable change-log menus, class-helps for informing players on how classes work, and various user options to improve the individual's experience such as toggling jump-scares, changing class control schemes, modifying how gore looks, and a death hint system for some added info when you die to a class.

GvH Arcade Map Pack

As with the original GvH and its many iterations, along with this is a map pack mainly designed to be played alongside GvH Arcade to better take advantage of its unique aspects and class design. Plans to bring in revamps of previous ideas and maps while opening the way for future maps and designs.

Certainly not sure how you would've gotten booted out since our member prune was weeks ago, but here's a new invite. https://discord.gg/rkabWm2

Edit : Apparently we had a 24 hour prune for some reason, we're gonna look to not do that in the future. Sorry about that

The Fight or Flights of Stairs Update!

This update's a big one, bringing the total amount of blocks up to 85! Alongside grass and a few mushroom themed blocks, this update brings the inclusion of more blocks for vertical builds. These include wooden and cobblestone stairs in addition to slab types of both of those blocks. These blocks were made possible by new models provided by Yoshiatom that I've updated every block in the mod to use, as it supported bottom textures much better. Also possible with this new model was the inclusion of carpets of every wool color.

The Block Setup menu was retooled into a general Minecraft menu where many new options and toggles were added. Now it's possible to disable the block marker which may have caused issues in taking screenshots previously. A newly implemented save point and respawn system can also be found in this retooled menu, one that ought to be very familiar to those who played the original Minecraft Classic. This menu is also the location of the mod's all new PVP toggle. It works similarly to Terraria's PVP in that only those with it toggled on can be harmed or hurt others with the toggle on, so hunt down those with swords crossed above their heads!

I have no idea how to hype up a version of literally only bugfixes so just take my word for it when I say this update's cool and important, okay thanks.

With all of the positive reception, I'm wasting no time in getting another update out. This version brings a flight toggle and Software compatibility as major features, in addition to adding some new blocks to play around with. Use invuse to toggle your flight, and if models caused FPS drops for you, set "gl_use_models" to false.

Minecraft Classic - Nostalgia in 8BDM

Made with the help of Ehibika and Jax with their grid snapping script and inspired by Geekie's Minecraft map, Minecraft Classic is now playable in 8BDM. Now you too can confuse Youtube's automatic game-detection! With 85 blocks at your disposal, it's possible to create whatever you desire on whatever map you'd like. OpenGL with models enabled and having buckshot enabled is recommended for the best, most polished experience.

Hey, I'm coming back in here for two quick things, well three, but two actual things to give. Firstly I'll say there's really been no interest in finishing the expansion version of this set of maps, especially not campaign wise. However, with that being said, out of my own goodwill, I've conjured up a quick bot pack and am giving away an old testing file that I created for the first phase of Justice Man's final fight. This is really the last to expect from here, at least from me, so here's hoping you all have enjoyed the Mega Man Rock Force Expansion.

Maestroid Prime Hunters - A Metroid Based Overhaul

A joint project between Max, Jax, and myself, this mod aims to bring the class-based experience of Metroid Prime Hunters into 8BDM. With this, Maestroid Prime Hunters sees the return of Metroid Prime Hunter's 6 main weapons and many game mechanics such as jumping after walking off of ledges, rocket jumping, and affinity bonuses. In addition, the mod includes a reworked LMS pickup system which can be toggled on or off with the use of the "MPH_PrimeLMSStyle" server variable.

Salvage crew coming in! There's been quite a bit of silence regarding this set of maps, but worry not, the work isn't going to waste.

After much updating and work from various members of the old project, the maps have been reworked to work as the map pack version in addition to adding new details, while the skins were turned into their own pack. Credits can be found in the files.

Enjoy the release!

It's pretty difficult to get a good angle of Oil Slider considering the nature of the weapon, so this'll have to suffice for showing the front and side,

Updated the pack to separate the Quick Beam voxel into its own add-on file and update the Telly voxel to take advantage of a change in v5c allowing the voxel to rotate fully.

Along with this, four new voxels have been added, Blader, V Boy, Balloonboo, and Oil Slider.
