Just work on that Famitracker arrange for the main theme, and you'll be set dude! And yes, it needs to be in red--it is the Egg Carrier, after all.

July 2nd, SGC 2010--I had already heard about the SGC Demo by this time, and I decided to go and try out the real deal at the con. So, I went into the room and, after waiting my turn for a go on someone else's gaming tower, I went and won my first match. As it turned out, I was probably the best player in the room when I played--I also got interviewed while watching from aside.

Bringing the demo home was a great thing for me to do: I logged into the bygone Nam-Ereh-Won server, played a lot, and got really good quickly. Suffice to say, this eventually brought me to both Skulltag and CutStuff, and to the formation of the former IRWC. And that's pretty much how it went.

MM8BDM Discussion / Re: The best review of MM8BDM so far
« on: January 31, 2011, 10:00:30 PM »
That felt less like a re-view and more like a review. We call it re-view for a reason: it's a formal conclusion to one's thoughts and impressions on a product, and doesn't bother dabbling in explaining the game to you. Reviews, in the classic sense, talk about which parts of the game worked best and which worked worst, not actually trying to explain how it works for the millionth time. That's why I find it unbearable to read game magazine reviews anymore.

Finally, I have the worst feeling that this guy isn't a native English speaker, or just doesn't know how to stop being John Kerry and use appropriate diction. Sure, it speaks nicely of MM8BDM, but it's an abysmal review.

I'm perfectly fine with people who just like to chill and play around, so long as we don't butt each other the wrong way just out of differences in play-style. I am outright competitive, but I'm a good sport and definitely not a douchebag (though everyone who's naturally competitive inevitably has some kind of fit, which I won't deny has happened to me before). That said, my kin are rare in this community, and I've considered trying out regular Skulltag to pass the time. --That, and I haven't been able to connect to an MM8BDM server ever since I decided to come back (r2999, but on a Mac...anyone know a fix?).

Clans often do more than scrim and get down and dirty: they map, make mods, run events, etc. It's really just a fancy quasi-sports-team name for a group of players who've known each other for a long time, which really is how clans should be.

I'll gladly endorse this proposition. Sure, we have plenty of DM going on all the time, but a few players is never really that satisfying--it seems that all of the big group play has been hogged by TLDM et al., which is both valid and silly-dilly from my POV. I'd like to see a return to the days of the SGC demo, when DM was all we really ever had.

DragoonEnRegalia is my most common handle--my current other one is General Specific, uber-dude over at the Capcom Unity Devroom. Yeah, that's where I've been in recent times.

I was top league around the time I left the SGC demo, so some would say. Guys like Bluebrawl could rarely touch me, and only Dogolife really knew how to get me (read: Atomic Fire all the time--ugh, I will nevah forget). But, because I went into marching band for my sophomore year, September and August would be lacking in free time. Also, Tornado Man was such a pain for me to fight...utterly unpredictable, and held a temper tantrum (--yeah, for real) whenever you got him good.

@Sean: First off, I shouldn't be staying up like this--I need to get shut-eye for school tomorrow. Second, that was the only problem with the name whatsoever--it's certainly better than having an ambiguous, non-MM related name like Unfaded.

And if I ever had the time and will to lead again, I would. However, I want to be a music composer and arranger someday, and I have school obligations among other things. That said, I'll play through single-player, chat here, and probably drop in a few times on a server. I'd rather have several hours a day to devote to practice than to keel having to come back all the time when I have RL on my arse.

(--Actually, if you know a way to find amiable, competitive MM8BDM players, give me a ring. I know the big names, just need to know which servers they frequent).

Count yerself lucky, youngster. I'll be returning to MM8BDM around summer-time, when I will actually have time to play again.

Bah, I thought IRWC was a classic. Next clan to be made better be for Cossack, then. Dr. Light is the boring side, man--it's all about Cossack, where you're constantly held hostage by Wily due to the kidnapping of your daughter!

And yes, clans really don't matter until more competitive players join this community--if they ever, of course.

Hey, just give him a tux and Splash Woman -- he'll truly be Bond Man then. At least he has super-glue.

This is a beautifully done trailer indeed. You could have added more info in the video, explaining more of what the mod is about, but it's fine either way.

I would adore this server should you manage to update to the current ST version, but you don't have to do it right away. I would recommend that the spawn distance relative to other players be increased, because during a duel on Brandon's -- the minute I frag a dueler, and when I'm usually low on health, I get sniped by the same guy because I'm in his vicinity. So yeah.
