MM8BDM Discussion / Re: MM8BDM: DUEL TOURNAMENT - FEBRUARY 2011

Until then... UPDATE. Also, you can make your own prediction on the tournament by using MS paint. Also, Protip: Imageshack is good for large images.

Also, predictions.

Wha? Who was complaining about the brackets? I never saw anyone complaining!
Oh Kapus, it's what you DIDN'T see. I sent Firestorm PMs with my recommended matchups. I think other people sent him messages, or I must have annoyed him too much :b

Why is there 34 people in the tournament/ Mega Cut League?
Wait, what? I just counted it as 16 matches. Well anyways, anyone here have any requests for the tournament bracket template I'm going to make in 30 minutes in illustrator tomorrow?

934
So wait, we aren't going to switch the second round matches up a bit yet? It's all set as is? Sigh...
I'll get to work on making my little tournament bracket in Illustrator, although I can't promise you guys anything. Also, I'm only predicting who is going to win. I'm not predicting how many rounds they win it in. Although...

935
When I know what the second round matches are, I'm gonna make a table predicting who wins in every match. Why? Just for the hell of it and for the bragging rights of saying "I TOTALLY FUCKING CALLED IT". Stonefunk needs to reorganize his matches, since it's just great players vs great players and average players vs average players.
Something like a NCAA tourney, where it's #1 vs #16, #2 vs #15, and so on.

Muzaru vs Bluebrawl
Round 1: Top Man (first to 7)
(click to show/hide)
Muzaru: 7
Bluebrawl: 4
The match was a terrible stalemate, with Muzaru hiding behind a proto buster most of the match and me running off if I so much as got hit by a single shot. Still, the match provided a clean result and was won, in my opinion, by the (slightly) better person.
Round 2: Cut Man (first to 10)
(click to show/hide)
Inside of my comfort zone, I swiftly took care of Muzaru with a combination of Atomic Fire and Rolling Cutter. There were times where Muzaru got me with Fire, but I shrugged off those frags and pushed through.
Round 3: Hard Man (first to 10)
(click to show/hide)
Inside of his comfort zone, Muzaru didn't take long to eliminate me from the tournament. Relying mainly on Pharaoh Shot, Muzaru defeated me and moves on to the next round. After the match, OJ blackmailed him into not using PShot for the rest of the tourney, but I don't think Muzaru will do that.
Congratulations to Muzaru, although I wished we had met later in the tournament. With big names like DTD and rtist already out, I truly doubt that the final will be between 2 amazing players. In short, organize your tournaments better next time, Stonefunk.

pre-warning.
If that's a pre-warning, I'm sure an actual warning is much worse.
 But Ivowy! He started it! He was beein meen to me!
If Stonefunk wishes to talk to me, he best do it on Skype, by PMing me, or by talking with me on the servers.

This situation must be talked out in a gentlemanly way...
Like on a server!
Its okay if Vx left over them...
I forgive them, and him...
Muzaru, if you're angry, let it out. No sense keeping a grudge. Too late about the server thing, lol. Although, a duel between us would settle the score.
I personally apologize for any problems you guys have had with your clan over the past week. This tourney really has created some stress. But hey...

1) OrangeJuice was happy when he recieved the King Ping Banner by DTD, but to win this he only had to face against Frost, he is relatively new and inexperienced to begin with but he was also playing with a touchpad on a laptop. (which is very difficult to play any game with)

2) Many people consider Lonewolf to be a hardcore player, but, when OrangeJuice and BlueBrawl were constantly taunting and baggering him and his clan that, "Unfaded are CASUAAAAAAL" in the servers, always these idiots said "unfaded casuaaaaaaal" and all...it's not cool, there were Lonewolf in the server, its certainly one of the reason he quit the team to do his new team. Lonewolf is cool, but I think, BB and OJ killed unfaded.

3) BB insulted my team in the servers after our victory, (and his team's loss, hah) he said "Vile is not a good player", he is really better than you, because you play to win, Vile play casually to relax and if he plays for real, he does really good.

4) They said "Firestorm killed the finale with Rawk Hawk" but GOL took Tornadoman and Dogolife after wednesday, others team recruited too. I think, Rawk Hawk is better than most players but isn't that much better than others players to ruin the game.

5) Tornadoman only wanted to play on the weekend for the last match, but I don't have my 2 best players on any time during the weekend, so that is the reason we finished the league with a 2vs2, when King Yamato said "it wasnt a 5vs5?", Oj said "Yes, but firestorm RUINED IT".....We never said a 5vs5 was even possible, we just say "why not a 3vs3, 4 or 5" Anyways, 5vs5 was impossible because I don't have 3 players on the weekend, and your tornadoman is here only the weekend (must have tornado!).
My Team League is the worst tournament, disorganised for them, try to do better...

6) I think the worst thing was the "casual" insult against Unfaded when Lonewolf was there. OJ killed the team with this. I didn't want write this but when people insult my friends when I'm not here, I become mad.
GOL maybe strong but in the spirit they are poor hypocrit loosers with poor sportsmanship.

After, I don't understand why we speak of the problem of the unfaded, it's their story. Not ours.
Don't know why, but now I feel like stating what's wrong with each and every one of your points. Let me start off by saying that after playing a long time, I've grown a competitive attidtude and am a sour loser. Poor sportmanship? Yes, in that case. Hypocritical? Well now, that's just ignorant.
1) It's just a banner, lol.
2) Some Unfaded members play casually. Muzaru even said it. We taunted them without any real meaning, seeing as how it was a joke. Casuals are cool people and at least don't get mad that often. We killed Unfaded, you say? Unfaded is still alive, my friend. Also, ask Savior why Lonewolf left. I don't think he'll mention much about us. Lonewolf didn't state he left because of us, but because of something involving an enemy in his team.
3) Just today, I said Vile wasn't as good as Tornadoman. I have no disrespect towards Vile. He is good, but I said he isn't as good as tornado. Whoever told you otherwise needs to get their facts straight.
4) This might be better explained in part 5. Simply put, you had your best out when we didn't.
5) I call BULLSHIT on not being able to do 3 v3. You, Rawk, and tetra were there on Sunday, yet you forced us to wait for Vile or Stroy (Must have Stroy or Vile!). Heck, I think I even saw Stroy on sunday too, although that may just be my head. Also, better organization man. You made us wait way too long.
6) Like I said in part 1, I meant to do no harm with CASUALS being thrown around. They didn't seem too pissed off by it. If they were mad, they should have spoken up, told us to back off, or had Lonewolf frag us HARD when it came time to fight. Killing a clan with a single word? They must have been serious about being competitive... Serious...
Anyways, I just asked a question, lol. Didn't say it was a problem or anything. And Muzaru simply told me to ask Savior, which I plan to do next time I find him. Finally, what's with the sudden burst of anger? Just a few hours ago, I was talking to you about sorting the tourney out and commentating on it. There is only one explanation...

To be honest, I consider your method more efficient and less stressful on everyone's PCs. Now all we need to do is get 2 more people for commentators and 1 person who does nothing but record the match. Of course, this means that every server will need to host at least 6 people, and I'm pretty sure that not many people have bandwith to hold more people...
coughcoughcoughOJcoughcoughcough

941
That seems like a good idea. Someone records the match, while 2-3 people in the server watching the match commentate on what's going and record what they say. Then someone merges it all together and WHAM-O! We now have a commentary video for the tourney.
I CALL COMMENTATOR.

Here's an idea. We get a group of recorders who have skype and they invite the people who are BATTLING in so they can talk as well.
I like the idea. Just replace ARE with WERE and you have yourself a deal. The thing is, talking on Skype and playing at the same time can hurt your bandwith. I'm not saying that for people with strong internet and computers, but for people who can't afford either a good PC or a solid connection. Like me ): .

The only good racing games are from the Need For Speed series by EA Games.
Holy crap I love you man. If you could, Mike, could you try Jet Set Radio Future on the Xbox? It was such an awesome game of my childhood.

I am trying to control what is being said (e.x., no cursing, cussing, etc), but I understand that might not be easy to do if you're used to saying it. It would be a good idea to not have so many people talk at the same time, though, so I'll just have one or two others.
Something tells me you never saw my let's plays. Anyways, that seems like a swell plan. You record it, stream it, and we all discuss. It might be a struggle to stream the content and use Skype at the same time, since it is such a resource hog. Also, we have to figure out how we will record all our voices at the same time. You better hope your PC's body is ready.

If people want to, though, I could record matches and provide commentary.
We should probably go over the videos together on Skype and invite others to join and provide witty banter if they have any.
