Hey, everyone, I'm leaving Cutstuff.
I'd like to bring up an issue of sorts in my leaving post, and I'd like anyone who sees this to read it to its conclusion, please. There's a member who recently left, rather quietly anyway, Max, some of you know her as YD or Yellow Devil. Back when Max was in school, she was teased and picked on for being involved in things other students deemed as 'male' interests and for hanging out with 'nerds' and the like. Lots of students figured she was just hanging out with them to attract attention and whatnot. When joining Cutstuff, Max figured it'd be much simpler to just pretend to be a man to avoid being regarded as a specific crowd of gamers that aren't typically regarded well, "girl gamers". What didn't help was that Max's voice, according to most people and herself, doesn't exactly show the best example of being feminine. So Max figured that, to just avoid any negative attention, it would be better to pretend she wasn't a woman and deepen her voice further during things such as Skype calls for simplicity purposes.
For the 3 years Max had been on Cutstuff, she only really made friends with one member and figured it was probably time to actually make an effort to get more friends. She figured that the best way to do that would be to start actually being honest about herself. When that one secrets thread popped up, she figured that'd be the place to say it, despite the thread being treated as a joke topic of sorts. That led to other members, including myself initially, to not believe her due to the way the post was written, and many just found it hard to believe overall. What many members did from there on is make fun of her and constantly berate her and call her a liar. Obviously, this upset Max and she looked for some way to just leave, deciding this wasn't really the group of 'friends' she wanted. I told her that if it really bothered her that much, she should just leave without a word. So she did.
And now, when she's not even here, some members still berate her and decide she's just trying to pull some sort of prank on everyone. Yeah, I used to be a part of the group that figured she was just pulling a joke but now I honestly believe otherwise. I know that more than likely, most of you probably aren't going to care about this and you'll still see no reason to believe anything I said or anything Max previously said and call her a man and so on, so forth. My purpose was to inform you all why she left. For the record, if anyone cares at all, this is also a major reason why I'm leaving, I don't really want to be a part of a community where a member can't come out about something like this without being ridiculed.
So with that over, I'm gone.
