MM8BDM Discussion / A few questions with MM8BDM
« on: October 19, 2010, 06:13:49 AM »
First of all, I'd like to say thank you very much CutManMike and your team for putting the hours to create something like this. It is great to see this project finished, and so far I am loving it!

Just two issues so far though:

1. How do you save game in single player?
I know you can't save during gameplay, but is there a way to return to Dr. Light's lab to save game (which I haven't realised yet?)

2. Some stages lag at times.
Usually long stages when you can see really far ahead. Is this either the Skulltag engine doing its best to keep up, or is my old computer really a piece of crap? lol.

If there's any other issue i'll post it here, but thank you for listening, and I can't wait to play some more later today.  :)

Cheers!

Well if androids dream of electric sheep, surely Mega Man would dream of Sheep Man? Or does he count him before going to sleep?

The following two songs are considered the "Mega Man 2: Dr Wily stage 1" of their games (and I see why, they absolutely rock! So catchy!):

One more from my fave one =)

Another game, this is one catchy tune!

That's all for now. I'll post more later, coz I have heaps under my sleeve!

That game really is a pain in the ass, I can back that up.

I've played Super Star Wars, actually. IT IS EVIL.

Ha ha so we agree then?  :p

At least Ninja Gaiden gave you hope. This game on the other hand reaches into your soul and destroys it! I seriously don't know how I clocked the Return of the Jedi one. And the last level was the biggest pain ever (escaping the Death Star) coz half the time you didn't know what was a wall and what was a gap.

-traumatic memories- lol.

Heh heh, no worries. If you played Super Star Wars though, you would more than likely be saying "F this, F that" a lot, lol.

Yeah, out of all the games I mentioned, I still reckon Super Star Wars was the hardest of the lot.  :ugeek:

 my bad, I wanted to express myself truthfully without offending anyone. Perhaps we shall replace it with "fudge?" lol.

I'll make sure to make it less obvious next time, perhaps either like f**k or simply @#%*!

Cat Mario, lol. More silly than anything.

Frits, how on earth did you beat the tank in the finale of No Mercy with just your medkit? I'm pretty sure you have to kill the tank to proceed?    lol.

Ahh yes, I agree with Ninja Gaiden (Shadow Warriors). That game was friggin hard, and the last level was BS! Re-starting it when you died at the boss, and you had to beat the boss three times. At least once you beat first form etc. you didn't have to re-beat it, but still! The second one wasn't as hard, but number 3 i still haven't clocked yet (it's so fking BS, lol).

Probotector/Contra was hard, but me and bro played it that much we knew what to expect (two player is two times easier, and the game is pretty much a memory game at times). I have to say the one on Super Nintendo was the hardest though. Haven't tried hard mode yet.   lol.

Super Mario Bros. 3 (FKING RAGE!) lol.

If I remember anymore I will put them here.
Oh yes, I do remember.

I dunno how on earth I clocked Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi on the SNES.
When I play it now i can't even pass the second stage. Also, Fking death star mission, fck this game, fck fck fck fck FCK!!! -explodes- lol.

Welcome Lan!

I keep hearing good about Minecraft so I should have a look at it now.
I agree, while MM2 was a huge milestone, it is somewhat over-rated. My personal fave is MM3 as well. The first MM game I played was the very first one (but I played it when it was already seven years old). By this time, MM6 and MMX were out, but yeah, being an eight year old I didn't know.

MM1 is one year younger than me in fact (and Super Mario Bros. one year older). I'm the same age as Metroid though, ha ha.

Anyways, welcome once again, and may I comment on your DP as being both cool and somewhat creepy, heh heh.  :)

Me is proud.

Hahahaha! That's good!

Hmm, with MM4, I used the mega buster, seeing as the bosses were slightly thicker. Does this mean i have to replay it without charged shots?
Some bosses were easier without it thought (eg. Dive Man).

Well done man!  :D

For the Wily stages though, I had to use other weapons.
Playing on difficult, the Wily stage with the eight robot masters redux and the Wily capsule was hard even with Metal Blades. >_< Took me ages to get past that part.

As for hardest buster only robot master, I still say Quick Man.

Homophobes
long winded discussions about bisexuals

I get the odd feeling that this post is directed at me.  I'm not homophobic.  I just hate people who pretend to be bisexual for attention.

If this post isn't directed at me, then my apologies for jumping to conclusions.

There's many reasons why people would seek attention. I'd like to say that they do it just be an ass, but I have a feeling that some of them do it for other reasons.

That's because not being heterosexual means most people misjudge you. Which is complete shit. Talking to people about your "odd" sexuality is far harder than any straight person can understand.

I won't even begin to say I understand how that feels, because I don't, but I also really don't like people who judge others by something that shouldn't affect their personality. To semi-quote Martin Luther King, I agree that people should be judged by their character and personality, not by the colour of their skin or sexual orientation.

So as you can imagine, i don't really have any friends who are very ignorant, because I can't be around people like that (and that's that I consider myself a very patient and somewhat universal person). At least on here (if but a small area) we hope that there isn't any objectification of this kind, because I don't stand for it either.

Everyone should be welcome here! (Even Needle Man... just don't be a "prick" around me if you know what I mean, lol).

Quick Man Doc Robot

god damn

Ha ha yes, I had to use his weakness (which saved my ass, lol).
For me, hitting him with the gemini lasers was pretty hard...

Yeah it is hard, but coz it deals most damage, it's good if you can somehow hit him front on with the laser. Having said that, he would dodge most of the frontal assaults, but just when I thought I was about to die (running to a corner), he jumped up to stomp me and got caught by my re-bounding laser. Doc Robots also mean it's harder to jump over them, and in battles like against Air Man Doc Robot, you had to slide to avoid some of the tornadoes. Tough work.
