I have it, and it's quite a fun game!

That game was made for putting the rag dolls in sexual and compromising positions and then taking screenshots of them
Fort Wars, where me and a friend would make a base each, and then make contraptions like catapults and rocket launchers
to fire objects like explosive barrels to see if we can destroy the base. It's also good for making stupid youtube videos.  :D

You seriously have a talent for drawing, and I wish I could have not only a large range like yours, but being able
to ace each one (cartoon, realistic, etc). Really digging the work, and I like how Solar Man is using the arcade
style controller.

I enjoy these works, and it makes me wanna post stuff in the general art topic.  :)

Anything Goes / Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is for men

I think fanboys in general tend to be annoying at times.
For eg. I am currently loving Skyrim, but I'll have to be a troll if I
would post about it in every single topic on here.

Even with Mega Man, I love the series, I have a shirt of him and even
a model kit statue on my desk, but I don't over-obsess with him all the time.
I think there's a difference between fans and fanboys.

As for the term "bronies" the thing that creeps me out about it (and again, I could
be totally wrong) is I imagine these middle-aged men who enjoy watching it, and they don't
have kids, so my brain tells me "hmm, pedophile?" lol but again, that's a stupid stereotype.

Praise is good, being zealous about it is... er... I dunno.

Brotoad these are absolutely amazing!
You definitely have a talent for both pixel art and any art that could be
included in both video games, or digital art.

Can I make a request for Snake Man? In any way that you want.
I will be a happy chappy and will use it as my avatar.  :D
Keep up the good work!

General Gaming Discussion / Re: Bosses that Creep you out

I didn't find this boss that creepy as a kid, but if you think about it, it's a pretty messed up looking boss, lol. Although I thought it was pretty cool as a kid, looking back at it now, I still think it's cool, but I can see how it could be creepy to kids.

From 5:14 onwards. The last two forms of the last boss are very weird.

Ah yes, I was thinking Bill and Lance would be skins (if there are four skins in total, the other two could be Probotector robots that represent Bill and Lance as P1 and P2).

Dr. Wily would be interesting in Brawl. He would function like the Pokemon Trainer, but of course use Robot Masters instead of Pokemon. Not quite sure about the moveset, but:
RM 1: Quick Man (fast, lightweight)
RM 2: Metal Man (average)
RM 3: Stone Man (slow, heavy)

For a final smash, he could send out Flash Man, who would be able to stop time for short periods, and thus you could wreck havoc.

I like this idea! When I read Dr. Wily I thought "ah yeah, could be cool" but have him like a Pokemon Trainer that sends three different Robot Masters to fight is actually a pretty good idea! I can see this working!  :D I agree that the three RMs should be a fast weak one, an average one and a slow strong one.

I like the Mega Man idea (as Alucard would put it, no duh, lol) and Simon Belmont is a very well known video game character (a staple one perhaps?).

I think they should include Rad Spencer (Bionic Commando - Capcom).
He could use his bionic arm to not only grapple, but to cling onto other obstacles, or perhaps swing it around (like he does on the top-down view levels). His melee would be pretty basic, but he does have a gun for those special long range moves perhaps?

His Smash weapon (forget proper name for it) could be, hmm, it's a tough one, coz i'm not sure of anything that's over-powered in the game, but perhaps it could involve something with his helicopter? Not sure.

Also:
Bill Rizer and Lance Bean (Contra - Konami)
The two might be identical (so perhaps they'll be one character but different skins?) and their melee attacks would be pretty basic (there's no melee in the original game, lol) but it's their long range attacks that would be interesting.

Their smash power could very well be the spread gun. If anyone has played the game, they will know that this gun friggin owns absolutely everything! lol.

Also, their alternative skins could be the Probotector robots, RD008 and RC011.

They're the ones I can think of for now, and they might be pretty interesting, no?

General Gaming Discussion / Re: Hardest game you ever beat?
« on: March 07, 2011, 01:16:31 PM »
Oh Lord, not SMB3 World 8!
Having said that, Bowser was a bit of an anti-climax as he was easier than the levels, lol.

I heard Ghouls 'n' Ghosts was voted the hardest game on the NES coz you had to beat it twice in one sitting I believe.
I'd say that's pretty valid, and it's the only reason it beat Battletoads (don't bother with that game... I can't even get past stage 3   lol).

Hmm, I don't think I've played any apart from Simon's Quest.

Not sure why hears are the currency, but looking at the video again, it seems very Adventures of Link inspired (just saying, lol).

There was definitely a lot to discover, and unfortunately coz I only hired the game, I never got far.
Was with all the Mega Man games too, I only hired them for a week or so, so I couldn't get too far.
Had I have owned these games, it could have been different.

Thank goodness for emulators these days!  :) Let's you relive old games, or play ones you missed out on.

Mega Man Discussion / Re: Best level music
« on: March 05, 2011, 08:00:56 AM »
To be honest, I didn't really like MM7 when I first played it (played it emulated) mostly coz I thought his movements were too slow, and that the camera was zoomed in too much (compared to the NES games or Mega Man X).

Though when I started liking it, it was no surprise that the music was one of the first things I grew fond of. It didn't have the heavy metal style of Mega Man X, but it was still great, and had a glimpse of the NES series, with the attitude of the SNES (just listen to the intro stage music). In no time I was tapping to Burst Man's theme and all the others.

By the end, I ended up really liking this game!  :D

MM7.
How can you not like Shade Man?!
This!

I like MM7's soundtrack. It sounds a lot like classic MM on the NES, only on 16 bit MIDI.
Where as MMX had a more "heavy metal" feel to it, with the "classic" factor popping up every now and then.
I'd still consider MM7's musical style the same to the NES ones, despite this one was on the SNES.

And yes, Shade Man's theme! Sticks out that one.
Also Wily stage 1, Slash Man, Junk Man (plus heaps more etc.).

Haha no worries Korby. Nah, I think after asking YD so many questions, I've run out of things to ask, lol.

Yeah that was quick of Mike to find the game I was after. It took like 5 mins. after me posting.

Well now that my question is answered, perhaps this can be a general Castlevania thread? (or alternatively, a thread where people ask others what game it was that they played so long ago, but forget the name of).

I know there are other games I've been having trouble remembering the names of, so when I do remember something, I'll post it here.

In the mean time, what made Castlevania a memorable game for you guys? For me, it was how bloody hard the game was, lol. In a way the series has been personally black-listed, which is bad because I could be missing out on great games. To me the first thing I remember when someone mentions the game, it's "f**king hard game" lol. But... does winning necessarily make a game better? I never could clock the old Mega Man games, but I had fond memories of them (despite they too were hard at times, lol).

What do you guys think?  :)

Yes! That's the one Mike! Ha ha that was quick, thanks!

Argh, this game was so hard for me as a kid, but looking at the gameplay, this guy makes it look easy, lol.

I never understood why the platform at the beginning would go invisible? I think it was only visible at night or something?

The first song rings a bell too, and yeah, I like how the pause sound effect is the same as Contra/Probotector (being Konami).

Yet I never understood why in the first game, the health meter looked the same as Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden/Shadow Warriors series.

Then again, I see some Zelda 2 style elements in this second game (unless this came first).

Thanks for the link. If I am brave, I could possibly find the roms to the Castlevania NES games, and try and clock them; ending the curse once and for all!

Anything Goes / Question to Alucard (or anyone) about Castlevania
« on: March 04, 2011, 02:38:59 PM »
Hey, well having remembered that I played a Castlevania game as a kid, I am trying hard to remember which one it was I played.

Although, I do remember a particular track (if I listen to it, I will remember) and I was wondering if you could help me.

It was on the NES, and the theme was I think Dracula's castle (there's moving platforms and heaps of baddies and what not) and after defeating Dracula you get his eye or something (there were five bosses if I remember correctly).

Also it was the one where during the day, you'd get civilians walking through the towns, and at night there would be skeleton warriors instead, and there'd be these fish men that jump out of the water.

Please tell me this is a Castlevania game, lol. Otherwise I'll never hear that castle theme again.  :p

Cheers!
