So much coolness here. New sprites, bunch of music, cute story segments, crazy Mega Man minigames...

Makes me wanna work on something like this, haha.

It’s a world where all the worlds of Rockman have crossed over. The gulf of space-time has been closed thanks to the efforts of Dr. Wily, Sigma and other villains to Rockman and others! Dr Light and Dr. Cossack work together in creating a new robot to oppose this crisis. A production model, this robot uses “battle memory” that has been scattered over the world, and possesses infinite potential to transform and increase his power. The player battles evil as this new type robot. Create your own Rockman, and battle with others to protect peace!

Mega Man Discussion / New 8-bit Sprites on 25th Anniversary Albums??
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:12:09 AM »
Speculation time!!

http://www.rockmancorner.com/2012/08/25 ... racks.html

The album covers on the 25th Anniversary Techno/Rock Arrange Soundtracks show off some new sprite-work for classic Robot Masters. What I'm wondering is, where did these come from? While it is entirely possible (and likely) they were just thrown together for the sole purpose of covering this album, there's a few oddities about them:

-Almost all of the Robot Masters shown are given a unique "hurt" sprite, which are similar to the poses seen in Power Battle/Fighters but different from the ones in the Neo Geo Pocket game and definitely not from the original NES titles
-There's weird little differences with some of the sprites, such as Snake Man's tail being shortened
-No jumping or walking sprites are used, only poses, attacking, and being hurt (even to the point of a unique "Snake Man shooting on the ground" sprite being used)

I wanted to try and "rip" some of these, but even the high quality images are not enough, yet. I did try to draw over Snake Man's standing and hurt poses though:

The top left is just the black color of Snake Man's original sprite. The top right is my redraw of what's on the album. The bottom right is my redraw of the hurt pose, and the bottom left is my guess at the hurt sprite being colored to match the other NES sprites.

Originally, I had hoped that these sprites were maybe from some kind of in-progress or canned 8-bit version of the Power Battles, but the limited-poses and repeated states almost makes it seems like they're from some kind of cell-phone title instead (like a puzzle game, where each character would have attack animations for completing a line and a hurt animation for receiving garbage). The only reason I speculate they're from something else is because it'd be strange to create so many new "hurt" sprites for these Robot Masters, when they could have just used other poses.

IN ANY CASE, I hope there's some even higher-res pics in the future of the cover, cuz I do think some of the unique hurt sprites are cool.

Mega Man Discussion / Mega Man Communities
« on: July 13, 2012, 06:06:43 PM »

So, there's this thing that's been bugging me for awhile. I go to a couple different websites and see all kinds of Mega Man fans. Sometimes, the same ones at different places (which is cool!) However, almost all of the Mega Man message boards I visit seem to be low on activity (which is only fair since nothing new is coming out, I guess.)

My super dream is for all of these fans to come together on a single message board, but it's hard to pick out any one Mega Man message board as "the place to go". Of course, I would personally say CutStuff (<3), or The Mega Man Network's since the main site is such a huge hub of Mega Man news.

Rather than just saying "GO HERE" though, I wanna post and ask everyone else about where they go. FOR EXAMPLE:

Forums I Visit Frequently
CutStuff
Mega Man Legends 3 DevRoom

Forums I Visit Occasionally
The Mega Man Network
Rockman Perfect Memories
Mega Man Legends Station

Mega Man Discussion / Mega Man: The Movie
« on: March 16, 2012, 09:35:02 PM »
You don't need no Eddie Lebron to make a Mega Man movie! Just Youtube screencaps and MS Paint!

These are kind of old, but seeing em again made me wanna make some new ones. If you have a favorite movie scene you want to redo with Mega Man characters, please post your creation!

Also, hopefully I can get the ok from some friends to post the ones they made!

Mega Man Discussion / Mega Man Fan Game Collection Topic
« on: June 20, 2011, 09:23:32 PM »
There have been plenty of topics about individual fan games, but this is meant to be sort of an all encompassing collection of fan-made Mega Man titles. I want to try and list any substantial game creations so people can either track progress on their favorites or see what is out there to play.

But first, some rules:
1. Fan games must be playable on a computer. This is what most people are looking for, and games that are ROM hacks have probably been documented better elsewhere. Additionally, Mega Man stuff made in something like Little Big Planet is cool but better fit for a different topic, so none of that either.

2. Fan games must have a video, preferably on Youtube. This helps verify that the fan game actually has or has had progress, rather than just being a possible concept. If there's a fan game you like that does NOT have a video, make one for it!

3. When posting a fan game, please post its name and a video link. You can give additional info as well, but that's all I really need to add it to the list. If you do have more up-to-date information on any fan game, feel free to post about it and I'll update the list with it.
