PK: "The Dawn of X" event uses some clever storytelling tools to link the franchises in a way that doesn’t fill in any gaps best left to the fan’s imaginations. The intrigue of the gap of time between franchises remains intact.

On one hand, this is one of those cool mystery gaps in the series that I see a lot of fans are happy about leaving blank. On the other hand though, I don't think there would've been anything wrong with having an "Archie Comics" interpretation of what happened (unless it was really dumb in which case it would've blown up in their face heh).

Anywhoooo, I'm still hyped for this.

That sounds like a cool idea NemZ; the only thing that's a bit weird is that Mega Man would be the enemy. Obviously not a deal breaker, but I'm sure most people expect Mega Man to be playable, or at least the hero fighting for the win condition (of course, then there's Rockboard...). Still, Dr. Wily and the Robot Masters -are- pretty popular.

While I love the idea of a Mega Man board game and am excited for it, I'm also not immediately hooked on the gameplay. I watched the "How to Play" video for a couple of minutes and got totally confused. I feel like they could have something simpler and more accessible, or something that plays out better visually like what NemZ came up with. While I personally wouldn't mind sitting down and learning how to properly play, I'm a little worried about getting others into the game.

Hopefully my worries are unjustified, and when the thing comes out it'll be a blast to play. Hoping for the best!

I just think it's a cool thing they're doing. No indication of something bigger and not a malicious jab at Legends fans either.

The music and art are great! I think it's cool you guys decided to release an album; I like imagining what's going on based on the tone of the song and the name of the track. It also happens to be a nice way to celebrate Mega Man's 25th anniversary. Thanks!

Long-nails Wily is creepy as heck! I wish I understood what they were saying : (

I like this one not only cuz it's Mega Man Soccer/has Top Man/is great, but also because it only recently was uploaded. Gives me hope that there's even more great lost Mega Man commercials (there's already lots of cool ones, though).

What I ment was that, has any Unreal engine game ever been ported to the 3DS or Vita?
It seems like plenty have or could be ported to Vita; the only title that comes to mind is the latest Mortal Kombat, but I'm sure there's others (I'm not familiar with the Vita's library).

For the 3DS though, I can't think of anything. It definitely seems like it would be a lot less capable than the Vita. (There's old news stories boasting how the 3DS could handle Unreal Engine 2...)

Apparently, Comcept would be contracting Abstraction Games to handle the ports, a company which has handled a fair amount of PS3 and PS Vita ports. In the case of Hotline Miami, it sounds like they had to rebuild the engine since the original was done in Game Maker. While I have faith they could handle the Vita port, it does make me wonder how the 3DS version would come about.

Also, is it so bad if the design that's chosen is cute?  Really, is it?
I definitely don't think so. I love cute designs like Kirby. Video games and cartoons are great because you can have cute characters still do awesome things.

I like that Inafune's first order regarding Beck's design was that it should be 'cute'. It's a large part of why classic video games are more appealing to me compared to mainstream games of today.

It's sad to think about it, but I agree that ANY new Mega Man game project by Capcom is going to face heavy criticism. I keep hearing things along the line of "we DESERVE an awesome Mega Man game because of these cancellations" and no matter what Capcom comes up with, it's not going to please everybody. Personally, I would want them to try because I'd love to see all different kinds of takes, from new anniversary collections to remasterings to new sequels or even new series. But again, that's just my personal desire.

Specifically, you have groups like the hardcore MMLegends fans which have a lot of people who want one game in particular. While I would love to see MML3 too, it feels like any Mega Man related news (or news on any Capcom games) immediately risks backlash from fans who demand solely MML3, which is awful. Regarding that, Mighty No. 9 is able to be spun in a much more positive light because while it's still Mega Man-ish, it also isn't being made by the company which many feel scorned by.

I really like how H looks, but a lot of that is probably the art style too. However, since they only allow 1 vote per IP, it went to F because bro was eager to vote!

I'd honestly be happy with any of em, but it's fun to have a vote like this (and to see people strongly fight for different ones).

Dang, really cool write-up NemZ! I had some vague ideas about that kind of stuff, but I learned a lot reading your post. Really liked the examples you gave, too!

Daaaang that looks like it'll be cool. I'm all for new stuff but there's a bunch of already-cool stuff in the Mega Man games and remixing it into a huge adventure seems like a GUUD idea.

Thanks a bunch CHAOS_FANTAZY for posting those games! List is updated with em now, and some other fixes (like changing Unlimited to Complete and adding Perfect Harmony)

I'm excited for the Call design poll; hope it keeps at least all of those design choices and maybe has some more too! I think I like the pink haired one the least, but she has an Eddie back-pack so frik!

Roll look-alike, big-wing headphones, and green hair rock tho.

Hell yes, Magneto Man! Cool hand poses and everything haha!

The Tengu one is insane; great job on recreating the shield and everything else in each rotation!

Wart and Bub I didn't see coming, funny/great ideas. I especially like how much Bub looks like a costume.

I had no idea about the prototype Spring Man stage stuff, crazy crazy. Gutswario is such a great and unexpected fit.

So many awesome entries, haha!
